Camila Cabello is sharing her voice with new talent…
The 25-year-old Cuban and Mexican singer/songwriter is joining the 22nd season of NBC’s reality competition series The Voice.
Cabello, who make her acting debut in Amazon’s Cinderella, will join Blake Shelton, John Legend and Gwen Stefani on the panel, replacing Kelly Clarkson for the show’s next installment.
Clarkson has served as a coach for the last eight seasons of the show.
TheVoice has always had a rotating group of coaches so there is always an opportunity for Clarkson to be back in the chair one day in the same way that Stefani has come in and out.
Cabello, who broke through onThe X Factor, makes her reality television judging debut on the show. She announced the news on TikTok, where Shelton offered his fellow judges a challenge.
Cabello previously worked with Legend helping his team on last season of The Voice.
The series will return this fall.
The reality competition series sees four famous musicians search for the best voices in America and mentor these singers to become artists. Each season, America then decides which singer is worthy of the show’s grand prize. Shelton has the longest history with the show, having been a coach since Season 1. Legend has coached each season over the course of the last four years, with Stefani stepping in intermittently over the last nine years for a total of six seasons. Clarkson joined the show in 2014 and has won it a total of four times, alongside contestants Brynn Cartelli, Chevel Shepherd, Jake Hoot and Girl Named Tom.
The Mexican American duo, comprised of twin sisters MariaIsabel Eguino and MariaTeresa Eguino, will represent Arizona in American Song Contest, the US version of the Eurovision Song Contest, which launches this month.
Las Marias has already released multiple albums and accumulated a faithful following of fans online.
The program will see all 50 U.S. states, five territories, and Washington, D.C. compete for the title of Best Original Song. The contest, set to take place between March 21 and May 9, will air on NBC. The show will be hosted by Snoop Dogg and Kelly Clarkson.
Sweet Taboo, a dynamic Los Angeles-based Latina girl group consisting of singers Jen Torrejon, Sami Ramos and rapper ICP Bre, will represent California.
Ale Zabala will represent Florida, while Christian Pagán will compete for Puerto Rico.
The winner of the Contest’s Best Original Song will be decided by audience vote, with the grand final to air live on NBC on Monday 9 May – during the same week of the main European competition.
The contest will feature multiple stages, with three qualifying rounds before the semifinals.
The arrival of the show is a dream come true for executive producer Ben Silverman. He said in a statement: “I’ve spent 20 years trying to pursue this. I just love the format.”
He added: “When America is more fractionalized than ever and we are dealing with so many issues that divide us, the one [thing] that truly unites us is our culture.”
Kirstin Maldonado is helping people get into the holiday spirit…
The 29-year-old half-Mexican, part-Spanish American singer and her Pentatonix group mates will perform Christmas classics at the second annual iHeartRadio Holiday Special later this month.
Pentatonix is part of a lineup that includes Kelly Clarkson, Michael Bublé and Train.
Hosted by Mario Lopez, the virtual concert will take place on November 24 at 7:00 pm ET.
It will be broadcast across iHeart AC, Hot AC and Classic Hits stations and on the iHeartRadio app, with a video stream on the company’s YouTube and Facebook pages. Fans can also watch the concert in VR through the Horizon Venues app on Meta Quest.
The concert will mark the annual switch to exclusively holiday music through Christmas Day on more than 80 stations in key markets nationwide.
According to iHeartMedia, that switch sometimes doubles the audience size for a station from typical non-holiday programming.
“Our listeners always anxiously await the day our stations flip to Christmas music,” said Tom Poleman, chief programming officer for iHeartMedia. “Kelly Clarkson, Michael Bublé, Train and Pentatonix have some of the best songs of the holiday season, and we’re excited to have them perform on our show.”
Pentatonix dropped their sixth holiday-themed project Evergreen, which features collabs with Alessia Cara and Lindsey Stirling, on October 29; the a cappella group also kicks off a Christmas tour on November 27 in Baltimore.
In addition to local stations, listeners can head to the iHeartRadio Holiday page to see all the dedicated Christmas stations across the iHeartRadio app and beyond.
Camila Alves is helping her fellow Texans with a little help from their musical friends…
The 39-year-old Brazilian-born model and designer, who resides in the Lone Star State, and her actor-husband and Native Texan Matthew McConaughey, have roped in a slew of stars for the power couple’s “We’re Texas” fundraiser on Sunday, March 21 for Texans impacted by devastating winter Storm Uri.
The storm, which left thousands of Texans without heat, water and electricity, will be hosted by Alves and McConaughey, with performances by Post Malone, Kelly Clarkson and Kacey Musgraves.
The event will also feature performances from native Texans Willie Nelson, Miranda Lambert and George Strait, as well as Gary Clark Jr., Khalid, Don Henley, Kirk Franklin, Leon Bridges, Lukas Nelson, Lyle Lovett, Charlie Sexton, Clint Black, Los Lonely Boys, Parker McCollum and Randy Rogers.
Earlier this week McConaughey made news when he teased a potential run for Texas governor. The state’s next gubernatorial election is in 2022 and in an interview with The Today Show the 51-year-old Uvalde native said, “Am I considering that? Sure, it’s a great thing and an honorable thing to be able to consider. What I’ve gotta choose for myself is, I want to get into a leadership role in the next chapter of my life. Now, what role am I gonna be most useful in? I don’t know that that’s in a political position, or if that’s me as a free agent. It might be me as a free agent. So that’s something I’m personally working on is what is my position of most use in a leadership role.”
The massive winter storm that killed more than 70 people in the U.S. while leaving more than 4.5 million Texans in the dark due to a massive power grid failure is predicted to have a significant financial impact as well, potentially costing anywhere form $195-$295 billion from lost income, reduced economic output and infrastructure damage.
The 42-year-old Puerto Rican singer will join Kelly Clarksonas her team advisor on season 20 of NBC’s The Voice.
Fonsi, who has been a coach on Telemundo‘s La Vozsince 2018 — the network’s Spanish-language version of the singing competition series — is a “natural at giving constructive criticism.”
“It means a lot to them,” Clarkson told Extra. “I’ve been them, and it means a lot when people actually take the time to invest in your performance.”
“Getting to work with Kelly truly is an honor,” said Fonsi of Clarkson. “I’m a fan … I’ve been doing this for 22 years and you meet talented people every day, but to meet a normal talented person? Somebody who is kind-hearted — it is so refreshing. ‘Oh, wait, you are famous, talented and nice … What?’”
In 2019, Fonsi made a surprise appearance on The Voice to promote the second season of Telemundo’s La Voz. There he found a new fan, Kelly Clarkson, who asked for a Spanish lesson. The “Despacito” singer told her to repeat: Mi nombre es Kelly Clarkson y soy una mujer hermosa (My name is Kelly Clarkson and I’m a pretty woman).
Season 20 of The Voice kicks off March 1 with returning judges Clarkson, Nick Jonas, John Legend and Blake Shelton.

The 28-year-old Mexican & Spanish American singer and her Pentatonix group mates have surprised the world with the release of the music video for their new cover of “Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone).”

Maldonado then takes over lead vocals on the next pitch-perfect stanza.
The track will serve as the lead single for the band’s upcoming sixth holiday album, We Need a Little Christmas, which is slated to drop November 13 via RCA Records.
