Erica Mena to Reprise Role in Tubi’s Original Thriller “The Stepmother 2”

Erica Mena is stepping up…

The 34-year-old Puerto Rican and Dominican American actress will star in The Stepmother 2, which has received the green light from Tubi.

Erica MenaFrom Marques Houston and Chris Stokes, the original thriller is a sequel to The Stepmother, with Mena portraying the role of Elizabeth Carter/Diana Valdez.

The project is slated to premiere in December.

The Stepmother 2 picks up after Elizabeth, a woman with dissociative identity disorder, cheats death in a showdown with the Linbrook family, as she breaks free from the hospital with a new mission— find a new family and live happily ever after. Yet, as much as she longs for normalcy, she can’t escape her tormented past and will fight to protect her fairy tale at all costs.

The cast will also include Daniel Johnson in the role of Kevin Smith, a loving, caring father who has fallen in love with a woman that he knows as Diana, who we know as Elizabeth Carter. Kevin becomes conflicted when his ex-wife shows up and wants to reconcile; LaVell Thompson Jr. as Dustin Smith, Kevin’s teenage son who also happens to love his new mother figure, Diana. Dustin has questions when his real mother shows up out of nowhere after 10 years; Wesley Jonathan as Chris Harris, a retired cop, now private investigator, who happens to be Kevin’s best friend. Chris is very smart and observant. He becomes suspicious of Diana almost immediately; Judi Johnson as Janet Smith, Kevin’s ex-wife who shows up after 10 years of no communication following the death of their daughter. She wants to reconcile, but Kevin doesn’t feel the same.

The thriller also stars Houston, Justin Sweat, Michael Toland, Alfred Nolan Thomas and Billie King in undisclosed roles.

The Stepmother 2 is directed by Stokes who executive produces alongside Houston, with Juanita Stokes, president of Footage Films, serving as producer.

Mena’s previous credits include Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, CSI: Cyber and Master of None.

Mel Rodriguez to Star in CBS’ Upcoming Series “CSI: Vegas”

Mel Rodriguez is joining the force…

The 47-year-old Latino actor has been cast as one of the leads in CSI: Vegas, which Deadline.com reports is nearing a formal straight-to-series order at CBS.

Rodriguez will star opposite Paula Newsome and Matt Lauria in CSI: Vegas, which serves as a sequel to the mothership CSI series, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

William Petersen and Jorja Fox are reportedly finalizing their deals to star in CSI: Vegas, reprising their roles as Gil Grissom and Sara Sidle, respectively.

While billed as an event series, CSI: Vegas, from writer Jason Tracey, CBS Studios and Jerry Bruckheimer Television, could become an ongoing series running for multiple seasons.

With CSI: Vegas, the most watched drama series of the 21st century, CSI, opens a new chapter in Las Vegas, the city where it all began. Facing an existential threat that could bring down the Crime Lab, a brilliant team of forensic investigators must welcome back old friends and deploy new techniques to preserve and serve justice in Sin City.

Rodriguez is said to be playing Hugo, who took over as Head Medical Examiner three years ago. He has an endless fascination with the bodies that find their way onto his slab, and the morgue is his happy place. Rodrigues previously guest starred in an episode of CSI: NY (character name: Al McGrath).

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation bowed out in 2015 after 15 seasons, having launched a $1 billion franchise for CBS that spanned four series; CSI and spinoffs CSI: Miami, CSI: New York and CSI: Cyber.

Rodriguez was most recently a series regular on the Showtime series On Becoming a God In Central Florida opposite Kirsten Dunst. He was also seen opposite Anne Hathaway in Dee Rees’ The Last Thing He Wanted for Netflix. Additionally, Rodriguez recently voiced Officer Colt Bronco in the DisneyPixar animated feature Onward.

Sigler to Star in the Period Western “Justice”

The 34-year-old half-Cuban American actress and former The Sopranos star has been cast in in Justice, a period Western to be directed by Richard Gabai.

Set in 1868, the action adventure film centers on an old abandoned mine that’s being transformed into a military stronghold by a corrupt mayor and a band of bloodthirsty outlaws hell-bent on re-energizing the just-ended Civil War. When a U.S. Marshal comes to town and finds out that his brother has been murdered, his search for the killer takes him on a life-or-death struggle for a much greater cause.

Sigler’s co-stars include Robert Carradine, Stephen Lang, Ellen Hollman and John Lewis.

Lewis and Shawn Justice wrote the script, and principal photography kicks off next week at Bonanza Creek Ranch in Albuquerque.

Sigler’s previous credits include appearances on CSI Cyber, Dads and Last Man Standing.

Jaramillo to Star in USA Network’s Pilot “The Wilding”

The Mexican actor, who will star opposite Jennifer Lopez in NBC’s drama series Shades of Blue, has booked a series regular role in The Wilding, USA Network’s two-hour backdoor pilot from Universal Cable Productions and executive producers Tim Kring and writer-creator Silka Luisa.

In The Wilding, disparate people across North Carolina realize they’re connected by the same haunting. Their only hope is a fractured family battling the repercussions of a teenage pregnancy, addiction and the discovery that they belong to a subset of people with supersensory abilities called Wildings.

Jaramillo will portray Carlos, Margaret’s (Jordana Spiro) husband. As a recovered drug addict and popular teacher, he connects with his troubled step-daughter Kayla in a way that others can’t.

Best known for his performance in Oliver Stone’s drug-themed film Savages, his previous television credits include Dallas, CSI: Cyber, Gang Related, The Mentalist and Burn Notice.

Jaramillo to Star Opposite Jennifer Lopez in NBC’s Drama “Shades of Blue”

The Mexican actor, who last appeared as Hector on Lifetime’s Devious Maids, has been cast in a recurring role opposite Jennifer Lopez on NBC’s new drama series Shades of Blue.

Directed by Barry Levinson, the police series follows a tight-knit crew of officers who are effective at keeping the streets safe, but also corrupt when it comes to lining their pockets and protecting their own.

When one of the officers is forced to become a federal informant, Lopez’s character must decide between her own family’s welfare and that of her police family.

Jaramillo will play Miguel Zepeda, an ex-boyfriend of Harlee Santos (Lopez).
