Miguel Provides New Track for “BET Presents Music Matters Vol. 1” Compilation

There’s no denying that music matters to Miguel… And, nowhe’s proving it. 

BET Networks and its new artist program Music Matters has partnered with Louder Than Life/Red Associated Labels to launch a compilation album series: BET Presents Music Matters Vol. 1, which features new music from the 28-year-old half-Mexican American singer-songwriter.

The compilation, also featuring new music from Big Sean, Mack Wilds, Melanie Fiona and The Internet, will be released June 23 in support of the second annual BET Experience (June 27-29). The three-day music and lifestyle festival culminates with the BET Awards on June 29, hosted by Chris Rock.

Miguel’s track for the 15-track compilation is called “Gravity.”

Now available for preorder at Amazon, the album sports a mix of established acts and rising stars. Music Matters is a multiplatform initiative that provides exposure for groundbreaking talent across BET and Centric, in addition to national tours and monthly showcases.

Miguel, Kendrick Lamar, Elle Varner, J. Cole and Marsha Ambrosius are among the artists who have been spotlighted by Music Matters.

Salaam Remi, who founded Louder Than Life and doubles as executive vice president A&R and production at Sony Music Entertainment, is the executive producer of the BET Presents Music Matters compilation album series. Collaborating with Remi is Kelly G, senior director of music programming for BET Networks.

Miguel & Alicia Keys Announce “Set the World on Fire” Tour Dates…

Miguel could be performing in a town near you this spring…

The 25-year-old half-Mexican American R&B singer/songwriter, who recently earned five Grammy Award nominations, will hit the road with Girl on Fire songstress Alicia Keys in March and April, as previously reported.

Miguel and Keys will trek across North America as part of Keys’ “Set the World on Fire” concert tour, which will feature stops in 24 cities.

The concert tour will kick off on March 7 in Seattle, Washington and end April 18 in Chicago.

“I can feel the energy of this upcoming year building and I couldn’t be more excited to go on tour with the new album and I’m thrilled to have the insanely talented Miguel join me,” Keys gushed in a statement released to the press.

Miguel, who just finished “The Chapter V Tour” with Trey Songz and Elle Varner, returned the compliment by saying, “I love Alicia because whether it’s 5 or 500,000 people she’s performing for, she exudes this hypnotic honesty and a transparent artistry.” He added, “I think that’s what this tour will be remembered for the most.”

The six-week long tour will take Miguel and Keys to renowned venues like the L.A. Staples Center, The Mandalay Bay Center in Las Vegas, The Toyota Center in Houston, The United Center in Chicago and New York’s Madison Square Garden.

Miguel to Tour with Alicia Keys…

Miguel is preparing to hit the world with a girl on fire

The 26-year-old half-Mexican R&B singer/songwriter will be touring with Alicia Keys next spring.

“Me and Miguel are going on tour together, it’s happening in March,” Keys revealed during a Google+ Hangout on Tuesday with the fellow R&B singer joining on video chat.

Miguel and Keys collaborated on her new album, Girl on Fire, as well as his Kaleidoscope Dream track “Where’s the Fun in Forever.”

“Miguel is one of the flyest songwriters. The way you piece ideas and concepts and thoughts, you are really special,” Keys told Miguel during the video chat.

Miguel is currently on tour with Trey Songz and Elle Varner.

No word yet on when in March he’ll kick off his tour with Keys
