Annable to Star in ABC’s Summer Drama “Astronaut Wives Club”

Odette Annable’s next role is out of this world

The 28-year-old half-Cuban American actress has landed one of the lead roles in ABCs 10-episode summer drama series Astronaut Wives Club.

Based on Lily Koppel’s novel The Astronaut Wives Club: A True Story, it tells the real story of the women who stood beside some of the biggest heroes in American history during the height of the space race. The script for The Astronaut Wives Club was written by Stephanie Savage.

Annable will portray Trudy Cooper, the youngest of the wives, a licensed pilot herself. She’s described as a tomboy with great aspirations of her own. Her forward-thinking challenges not just her husband but the other wives.

Annable was an early choice for the role, which marks her second consecutive pilot-season casting at ABC.

Last year, she starred in the drama pilot Westside. Annable has been recurring on Cinemax’s Banshee and CBS Two and a Half Men.

Her other credits include Fox’s House, New Girl and Breaking In, FX’s Anger Management and ABC’s Brothers & Sisters and October Road.

Matos Lands Recurring Role on the CW’s “Hart of Dixie”

Eddie Matos won’t just be whistlin’ Dixie…

The 41-year-old Puerto Rican actor has joined the third season of the CW’s Hart of Dixie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Matos, an All My Children and General Hospital alum, will appear in a recurring role with potential romantic implications.

Matos will play Enrique, the “gorgeous” Latino driver for Grandma Bettie Breeland (Maree Cheatham), who is saving money to attend poetry school. Described as passionate, charming and incredibly romantic, Enrique attempts to win the heart of one of the Bluebell ladies.

Matos’ other television credits include guest spots on Psych, Awake, Ghost Whisperer and House.

Hart of Dixie returns on January 13 on the CW.

Annable to Guest-Star on CBS’ “Two and a Half Men”

The 28-year-old  half-Cuban actress has landed a role on CBSTwo and a Half Men.

Annable will join the series in a major story arc as the new boss and potential love interest to Kutcher’s character, perpetual bachelor Walden.

Annable’s television credits include roles on House, New Girl, Banshee and Breaking In.

She will make her first appearance on Two and a Half Men’s January 2 episode.

Annable Cast Opposite Jennifer Beals in ABC’s “Venice”

The 27-year-old half-Cuban American actress has landed a role in ABC’s drama pilot Venice, which stars Jennifer Beals.

The Romeo & Juliet-inspired project, which was written by Byron Balasco, is a soap about the haves and the have-nots in California’s most enchanting beach city, Venice.

Directed by McG, Venice focuses on two rival families, the Nances and the Carvers, and a forbidden and dangerous romance that emerges between the two as the families battle for control of Venice.

Annable, who currently appears in a recurring role on CBSGolden Boy and guest-starred on Cinemax’s new series Banshee, will portray Sophie Nance, the owner of the hippest boutique in Venice, who falls in love with the offspring of her family’s archenemies, Chris Carver.

Annable, who co-starred on the final season of Fox’s House, has appeared on Brothers & Sisters, October Road and Breaking In.  

Annable to Star in “The Truth About Lies”

The 27-year-old half-Cuban American actress has landed a role in The Truth About Lies, the story of an emotional but self-centered drifter.

Directed by Phil Allocco, the film centers on Gilby, an aimless guy who’s fired from a dead-end job, dumped by his girlfriend and forced to move in with his mother when his apartment building burns down.

Annable will portray Rachel, a restless twentysomething stunner married to money.

Annable, who has a recurring role on Cinemax’s new series Banshee, has previously appeared on television in House, Brothers & Sisters and Breaking In.

Rios to Appear in FX’s “The Bridge” Pilot

Emily Rios is making a run for the border…

The 23-year-old Mexican American actress has been cast in FX’s drama pilot The Bridge.

The Bridge pilot, to be directed by Mexican filmmaker Gerardo Naranjo, will star Oscar-nominated actor Demián Bichir.

The project, an adaptation of the Scandinavian series Bron, centers on two detectives from the U.S. and Mexico – El Paso Police Homicide Detective Sonya North (Kruger) and Marco Ruiz (Bichir) — who must work together to hunt down a serial killer operating on both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border.

Rios, who most recently appeared in a recurring role on Breaking Bad, will play the recurring role of Adrianna Perez, a young, diligent reporter who works at the El Paso Times.

Rios’ television credits include Men of a Certain Age, Friday Night Lights, House and The Closer. She also appeared in the films Big Mommas: Like Father Like Son and Quinceañera.

Annable to Appear on CBS’ “Golden Boy”

Odette Annable is wasting no time lining up work after Fox pulled the plug on her last television project, House

On the heels of her casting for a multi-episode arc on Cinemax’s new drama Banshee, the 27-year-old half-Cuban American actress has signed on for a recurring role on CBS’ midseason series Golden Boy.

The new drama centers on the meteoric rise of a cop (Theo James) from his days as an officer to detective to police commissioner.

Annable will play Kat O’Connor, a young, attractive assistant district attorney with a complicated marital history who prosecutes cases brought by the squad.

This marks the second straight year that Annable will have to juggle two series simultaneously, after working on House and Breaking In last season.

The new drama series follows an ex-con (Anthony Starr) who poses as a murdered sheriff in a small Pennsylvania Amish town. There he enforces his own kind of justice while developing plans to serve his own ulterior motive.

Annable will portray a Native American assassin with a dubious past.
