Michele to Star in Fox’s Anthology Series “Scream Queens”

The 28-year-old part-Spanish actress/singer has landed a role in Scream Queens, the follow-up Fox series from Glee creators Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan.

The first installment in the new anthology series revolves around a college campus, which is rocked by a series of murders. Fifteen one-hour episodes have been ordered.

Production is scheduled to begin in the spring, with the series premiering in fall 2015 on Fox.

Also joining the cast are Joe Manganiello (True Blood), Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine) and Keke Palmer (Akeela and the Bee). Additionally, Ariana Grande will have a recurring role.

Jamie Lee Curtis and Emma Roberts were previously cast in starring roles.

Vergara Reportedly Engaged to Actor-Boyfriend Joe Manganiello

The 42-year-old Colombian actress and Modern Family star and her current boyfriend, actor Joe Manganiello, are reportedly engaged to be married, according to several U.S. media outlets.

While neither of the artists’ reps have confirmed the news, showbiz publications like US Weekly say the actor asked for Vergara’s hand in marriage on Christmas Day during the couple’s vacation trip to Hawaii.

According to US Weekly, which cites sources close to the couple, the True Blood star asked Vergara to marry him in the presence of family, after they had been dating for almost six months.

Vergara has not confirmed the news on social networks, but used her Twitter account on Dec. 28 to congratulate Manganiello on his 38th birthday.

Last May, the Colombian announced that her engagement to businessman Nick Loeb was over and done with, after they had been in a relationship since 2010 and engaged since July 2012, when on a trip to Mexico’s Riviera Maya he proposed tying the knot.

It would be the first marriage for Manganiello, while it will be the second for Vergara. She has a 22-year-old son named Manolo from her marriage to high school sweetheart Jose Luis Gonzalez.

The 47-year-old half-Venezuelan American actor and former Saturday Night Live star, who received his first-ever Emmy nomination in an acting category this year, will be among the presenters at the 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards on August 16, according to the show’s executive producer Spike Jones Jr.

Armisen, who earneda best supporting actor in a comedy nod for Portlandia, the IFC series filmed and set in Portland, joins a list of presenters that includes Jane Lynch, Morgan Freeman, Tony Goldwyn, Heidi Klum and much of the nominated cast of Orange Is the New Black.

Other presenters include Patrick Adams (Suits), Vince Gilligan (Breaking Bad), Tony Goldwyn (Scandal), Judy Greer (Archer), Jonathan Groff (The Normal Heart), Tim Gunn (Project Runway), Tony Hale (Veep), Allison Janney (MomMasters of Sex), Keegan Michael Key (Key and Peele), Natasha Lyonne (Orange Is the New Black), Joe Manganiello (True Blood), Joel McHale (The Soup; Community), Aisha Tyler (Archer), Matt Walsh (Veep), Matt Weiner (Mad Men) and Bellamy Young (Scandal).

This year’s awards show will take place a week and a day before the Primetime Emmy Awards. An edited version of the show will be broadcast on the FXM cable network.

The entire show will be streamed on Emmys.com from noon to 3 p.m. on Monday Aug. 25, just before the Primetime Emmy Awards.

Magic Mike star Joe Manganiello goes behind the camera to direct his first feature, a documentary that takes an inside look at Dallas’ La Bare, featuring the 31-year-old half-Venezuelan professional dancer and bodybuilder.

Soto, one of the featured subjects in the film, works at La Bare, one of the most famous male strip clubs in the world.

Main Street Films acquired the North American and Chinese distribution rights to the film, which is slated for a June 27 theatrical release.

In addition to Soto, the documentary also stars Lance Winters.

Lionsgate has released the character posters for the 39-year-old Cuban American actress’ latest film What to Expect When You’re Expecting, a comedy about dealing with the challenges of impending parenthood.

Based on a screen adaptation of the bestselling book by Heidi Murkoff, the film follows a group of expectant parents whose lives are all somehow intertwined, no matter how different they all may seem.

Along with Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Elizabeth Banks, Anna Kendrick and Brooklyn Decker form part of the all-star ensemble cast.

All of the characters – except Jennifer Lopez’s, who is adopting – are shown in various stages of pregnancy. A quote from the character is also included, and ranges from the sweets (“I can’t wait to meet my baby.”) to the funny (“If I knew I’d have a rack like this, I would have gotten knocked up years ago.” and the desperate  (“I’m calling bull$#!%. Pregnancy sucks.”)

Many of the quotes on the poster are lines heard in the trailer for the film, which co-stars Chace Crawford, Matthew Morrison, Dennis Quaid, Chris Rock, Rodrigo Santoro, Ben Falcone and Joe Manganiello.

Set in the world of male strippers, Magic Mike is inspired by Tatum’s real-life experience working as a stripper in Tampa, Florida. The film follows Mike (Tatum) as he takes a young dancer called The Kid (Pettyfer) under his wing and schools him in the fine arts of partying, picking up women, and making easy money.

“When Channing talked to me about this, I thought it was one of the best ideas I’d ever heard for a movie. I said I wanted in immediately,” says director Soderbergh. “It’s sexy, funny and shocking. We’re using Saturday Night Fever as our model, so hopefully we’re on the right track.”

Magic Mike will hit theaters June 29, 2012.
