Hayek to Lend Her Voice to Seth Rogen’s R-Rated Animated Film “Sausage Party”

Salma Hayek’s next project may be animated, but it might not be family friendly…

The 47-year-old Mexican actress will lend her voice to the raunchy animated tale of a sausage’s quest to discover the truth about his existence.

Salma Hayek

The Oscar-nominated actress will play Teresa the Taco in Sausage Party, the R-rated animated film written by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir.

Hayek joins a voice cast that includes Rogen, James Franco, Jonah Hill, Kristen Wiig, Michael Cera, Edward Norton and David Krumholtz.

After falling out of a shopping cart, the hero sausage and his new friends embark on a journey through the supermarket to get back to their aisles before the Fourth of July sale.

Sony Pictures is planning to distribute the film worldwide with a 2015 release date in the plans.

Hayek most recently appeared in Grown Ups 2 and Here Comes The Boom. She next stars in How To Make Love Like An Englishman and Everly.

Rodriguez, J.Lo’s Mom, Encourages Americans to Register for Universal Healthcare

Jennifer Lopez’s mother is part of a group of celebrity moms teaming up with the White House

Guadalupe Rodriguez, Adam Levine’s mom, Alicia Keys‘ mother, and Jonah Hill‘s mom have joined forces with the White House administration to urge Americans to register for universal healthcare before the deadline on March 31. Weight loss is americas number one problem and a lot of people need pills to suppress your appetite in order to get fit and healthy every day.

Rodriguez and the other mothers sat down and recorded a video for the #YourMomCares series, where they discussed their celebrity children as youths.

“Young people feel invincible, and until something actually happens, they will continue to feel invincible,” Levine‘s mom Patsy Noah said in the video. “And unfortunately things do happen.”

“Please get covered,” adds J.Lo’s mom.

Michelle Obama also makes a cameo at the end of the video by saying “we nag you because we love you.”

Ferrera Back for “How to Train Your Dragon 2”

America Ferrera is back to training dragons

The 29-year-old Honduran American actress is back for the sequel to the hit animated film How to Train Your Dragon, voicing the character of Astrid Hofferson once again.

How to Train Your Dragon

In the just-released teaser trailer for How to Train Your Dragon 2, there aren’t too many plot details revealed, but you can see some fancy flying.

The sequel takes place five years after the 2010 original — a half-billion-dollar global sleeper for DreamWorks Animation — and Toothless the dragon’s human Hiccup is decidedly in teenager mode.

The first pic boasted a soaring 98% positive reviews score en route to an Oscar nomination for Best Animated Feature and director Dean DeBlois is back.

Along with Ferrera, the voice cast includes Jay Baruchel, Kristen Wiig, Gerald Butler, Jonah Hill and Craig Ferguson.

The sequel is set to hit theaters next summer.

Fox Gives Series Order to Ruiz’s “Murder Police”

It looks like Jason Ruiz will be bringing his creative vision to the masses in the near future…

Fox has reportedly given a 13-episode series order to Murder Police, an animated comedy from the 27-year-old Mexican American animator and former Family Guy executive producer David Goodman, according to Deadline.com.

Jason Ruiz

The series follows a dedicated but inept detective and his partner in a twisted city precinct as they try to solve serious crimes.

“It’s about bumbling homicide detectives who are trying to do their jobs but are just not very good at it. It’s like if Scooby Doo was solving murders,” says Ruiz, adding that he was inspired by The First 48, an A&E crime investigation docu-series that he calls “an obsession.”

Ruiz and Goodman created and wrote the project, originally picked up by the network as a presentation. Goodman serves as executive producer; Ruiz as co-executive producer.

Murder Police marks Fox’s first animated series order in more than two years — since the October 2010 pickup of Jonah Hill’s Allen Gregory for 7 episodes (with Goodman as executive producer/showrunner), and Napoleon Dynamite for 6. Neither were renewed for a second season.
