Bianca Santos to Star in the Indie Thriller “Invitation to a Murder”

Bianca Santos has accepted a new invitation

The 31-year-old Brazilian and Cuban American actress will star alongside Mischa Barton and Seamus Dever in Stephen Shimek’s indie thriller, Invitation to a Murder.

Bianca SantosThe film sees a reclusive billionaire invite six seemingly random strangers to his island estate, including aspiring detective Miranda Green (Barton). When another guest turns up dead, Miranda must get to the bottom of the plot behind the gathering to prove herself and maybe save her life.

Santos will play Carmen Blanco, a poor waitress from Seville who joins Green and Dever’s attorney Lawrence Kane as a guest at the mansion. She gets swept up in a romance with another guest, but when things take a deadly turn, she must decide whose side she’s on.

Brian O’Donnell penned the film, which is based on an original story by Gérard Miller.

It’s now in production in Chicago.

Zeus Zamani and Brian Vilim are producing, with ACE Entertainment’s Sebastien Semon and Jerome Reydner-Kalfon executive producing.

Santos is best known for her turn as Lexi Rivera in Freeform drama series The Fosters, and as Maya in The CW’s fantasy series Legacies.

The actress has previously starred on the film side in OuijaThe Duff and Priceless.

MTV to Premiere Frankie Delgado’s “The Hills: New Beginnings” in June

This summer will mark a new beginning for Frankie Delgado

MTV has set Monday, June 24 for the premiere of its anticipated revival reality series The Hills: New Beginnings, featuring the 37-year-old Mexican American actor and producer.

The new iteration reunites original cast members, alongside their children and friends, welcomes newcomers, and follows their personal and professional lives while living in Los Angeles. 

The Hills: New Beginnings will premiere in the U.S. before rolling out globally across Viacom’s international network of MTV channels in nearly 180 countries.

Rivera to Compete on ABC’s “Dancing With The Stars”

ABC has announced the full cast of Dancing With The Stars Season 22 ahead of its March 21 premiere, with the 72-year-old half-Puerto Rican attorney, reporter, author, and talk show host making the lineup.

Rivera, the host of the newsmagazine program Geraldo at Large and regular guest/contributor on the Fox News Channel, is partnered with professional dancer Edyta Śliwińska. 

He will also have the distinction of being the oldest contestant this season.

This isn’t Rivera’s first foray into reality television…

He competed on the 14th season of The Celebrity Apprentice, where he ultimately placed second to fellow TV personality Leeza Gibbons.

In addition to Rivera, the list of celebrity dancers includes Mischa Barton (Notting Hill), Good Morning America meteorologist Ginger Zee, Living Single’s Kim Fields, NFL star Antonio Brown and Jodie Sweetin (Fuller House).

Trejo to Star in the Crime Thriller “Hope Lost”

It’s a case of hope lost for Danny Trejo…

The 69-year-old Mexican American actor, best known for his roles in the Machete films, has signed on to star opposite Mischa Barton in Hope Lost, a new crime thriller being financed and produced by Italian company AMBI Pictures.

B-movie favorites Michael Madsen and Daniel Baldwin have signed on to co-star in the feature film, which is set in the world of sex trafficking.

Italian director David Petrucci will helm Hope Lost, with shooting set to begin later this month in Rome.

Barton will play a young Romanian girl, bored with small town life, who dreams of entering the glamorous world she sees on Italian soap operas. One night at a club she meets Gabriele, who claims to be a TV producer who wants to cast her in a reality TV show he is making in Italy. But when she arrives, she is sold to the pimp Manol (Madsen) and forced to make her living on the street. Things get darker with the arrival of Ettore (Trejo), a sadist who makes snuff movies.
