Soledad O’Brien Partners with Rob Reiner to Co-Host “Who Killed JFK?” Podcast

Soledad O’Brien is searching for the truth about John F. Kennedy’s murder.

The 57-year-old half-Afro-Cuban American broadcast journalist and executive producer is teaming up with Rob Reiner to co-host Who Killed JFK? for iHeartPodcasts.

It will feature interviews with authors, witnesses and forensic experts as they look to connect the dots of JFK’s assassination 60 years later.

These include CIA officials, medical experts, Pulitzer-prize winning journalists, eyewitnesses and a former Secret Service agent who, in 2023, came forward with groundbreaking new evidence.

The duo will also discuss their own theories and ask why it still matters today.

The series will premiere on November 8 ahead of the 60th anniversary of President Kennedy’s death on November 22.

“Sixty years ago, President John F. Kennedy was gunned down in broad daylight on the streets of Dallas. To this day, it remains the greatest murder mystery in U.S. history,” said Reiner. “The American people deserve to know the truth of what happened on that fateful day. Who Killed J.F.K.? will take the listener on an evidenced based journey to reveal that truth.”

Enrique Murciano to Star in Second Season of Netflix’s “The Night Agent”

Enrique Murciano has a new agent

The 48-year-old Cuban American actor has been cast as a series regular opposite leads Gabriel Basso and Luciane Buchanan in The Night Agent, Netflix’s political conspiracy thriller series.

Murciano, known for his work in Bloodline, appears on a roster of new cast additions that includes Hong Chau, DB WoodsideFola Evans-Akingbola , Eve HarlowPhoenix Raei and Sarah Desjardins

Created by Shawn Ryan, the series is based on author Matthew Quirk’s 2019 New York Times bestseller.

The Night Agent is a sophisticated, character-based, action-thriller centering on Peter Sutherland (Basso), a low-level FBI agent  who works in the basement of the White House, manning a phone that never rings — until the night that it does, propelling him into a fast moving and dangerous conspiracy that ultimately leads all the way to the Oval Office.

Murciano plays Ben Almora, the measured, steady hand who guides the Secret Service in the White House.

Seth Gordon is set to direct the first two episodes of the series, which hails from Sony Pictures Television Studios, where Ryan and Gordon are under overall deals. Ryan will serve as showrunner of the 10-episode series, which he’ll executive produce via his MiddKid Productions. Gordon will executive produce through his Exhibit A banner.

Matthew López to Pen the Remake of Warner Bros.’ “The Bodyguard”

The 44-year-old Puerto Rican award-winning playwright and screenwriter, who earned a Tony Award nomination for The Inheritance, will pen the remake of Warner Bros’ 1992 blockbuster The Bodyguard.

The original film, which starred Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston (who died in 2012), grossed $411M WW.

The new film is reportedly inspired by the 1992 romantic drama which followed a former Secret Service agent, played by Costner, who takes on the job of bodyguard to an R&B singer, whose lifestyle is most unlike a President’s.

The Bodyguard served as Houston’s big screen debut at the time.

The film’s original soundtrack is the top selling of all-time with 45M copies sold around the globe. The soundtrack won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year and certified 18x Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.

Two songs, “Run to You” and “I Have Nothing,” were nominated for Best Original Song at the Oscars, but lost out to “A Whole New World” from Disney’AladdinThe film’s signature song “I Will Always Love You” went 8x Platinum in the U.S. selling 8M copies. Overall, it was the 15th-best selling album in the U.S., big shoes for this reboot, as yet uncast, to fill.

Lawrence Kasdan wrote and produced the original movie, which was directed by Mick Jackson.

Guaty to Star in ABC’s Comedy Pilot “Spy”

Camille Guaty is preparing for a super secret role…

The 34-year-old Puerto Rican & Cuban American actress has landed a role in ABC’s comedy pilot Spy.

The project centers on Tim (portrayed by Rob Corddry), a wellintentioned father of a highly intelligent and verbal son (Mason Cook) who inadvertently takes a job at the Secret Service in order to prove himself a worthy father.

Guaty will portray Caitlin, who is taking the CIA entrance exam along with Tim.

Her previous credits include a recurring role on The Vampire Diaries and The Chicago Code, as well as appearance on Drop Dead Diva, Prison Break and The Nine.
