Pedro Pascal Reportedly Inching Closer to Deal to Portray Mr. Fantastic in Marvel Studios’ “Fantastic Four”

It appears Pedro Pascal may be in for a Fantastic time…

Following months of speculation about who may be playing Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic in Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four, the 48-year-old Chilean actor’s name has emerged as a top contender for the role.

Pedro PascalWhile a deal is nowhere near complete, Deadline is reporting that three-time Emmy nominee  is in talks to play the leader of the iconic superhero team.

Insiders add that scheduling is still being worked out, but multiple sources close to the negotiations say it’s headed in the right direction for Pascal to take on this role and his other future projects.

Pascal has a full dance card that includes Gladiator 2, which is expected to go into production before the end of the year, as well as the second season of his popular HBO series The Last Of Uswhich is expected to shoot next year. He’s also expected to shoot Zach Cregger’s Weapons.

Marvel had no comment.

Director Matt Shakman is currently in pre-production at Pinewood Studios in England.

TBS to Premiere Season 2 of Ginger Gonzaga’s “Wrecked” in June

TBS has given its survival comedy Wrecked, starring the part-Latina actress, a launch date. It will premiere Tuesday, June 20, with back-to-back episodes at 10:00 pm ET on TBS.

Wrecked is about a diverse group of airplane passengers stranded on an uninhabited island, a dangerous new world where they must face many threats – mostly brought on by themselves. No longer plugged into the rest of the world, the group struggles to navigate their makeshift society while also learning to live without such modern comforts as indoor plumbing, wi-fi, social media and Chipotle.

In addition to Gonzaga, the ensemble cast includes Asif Ali, Zach Cregger, Rhys Darby, Brooke Dillman, Will Greenberg, Jessica Lowe, Ally Maki and Brian Sacca.

The first season of Wrecked was executive produced by Justin Shipley & Jordan Shipley, along with Jesse Hara and Moses Port.

TBS has given an early renewal for the network’s rookie comedy series Wrecked, starring the part Latina actress.

Wrecked, which revolves around a diverse group of plane crash survivors on a remote island, was picked up for a 10-episode second season.

Wrecked is reaching a multiplatform audience of 5.2 million viewers across linear, video on demand, digital and mobile. It ranks among cable’s Top 25 scripted series for the year-to-date and is the No. 1 new cable comedy based on Live+7 delivery of adults 18-49, according to TBS and Nielsen.

In addition to Gonzaga, the ensemble cast includes Asif Ali, Zach Cregger, Rhys Darby, Brooke Dillman, Will Greenberg, Jessica Lowe, Ally Maki and Brian Sacca.

Wrecked airs at 10:00 pm ET on Tuesdays.

Gonzaga to Star in TBS’ Comedy Pilot “Wrecked”

The part-Latina actress has been cast in the TBS pilot Wrecked, a single-camera comedy from up-and-coming writers Justin Shipley and Jordan Shipley and producer Jesse Hara.

Described as Lost meets It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Wrecked follows a group of extremely diverse survivors of a plane crash on a remote island who must adjust to life in a dangerous new world that poses unique threats — mostly brought upon themselves. No longer plugged in, the group must navigate this new society and learn to live without the comforts of 2015, including social media, Wifi, indoor plumbing and Chipotle.

Gonzaga, whose television credits include Anger Management, Mixology and In Gayle We Trust, will portray Emma, who’s on her way to Thailand with her friend, Florence, after having decided to drop out of medical school.

Gonzaga’s costars include Zach Cregger, Jessica Lowe, Asif Ali, Ally Maki, Will Greenberg, Brooke Dillman, James ScottGeorge Basil and Rhys Darby.

Filming on the pilot has begun in Puerto Rico.

Paxton Cast in Texas-Based Romantic Comedy

Sara Paxton is headed to the Lone Star State for her next project…

The 24-year-old half-Mexican American actress, who most recently starred in Shark Night 3D, has joined the cast of The Bounceback.

Directed by Bryan Poyser, the indie romantic comedy tells the story of two former couples that end up in Austin, Texas on the same emotionally tense weekend.

Actors Michael Stahl-David, Zach Cregger and Addison Timlin round out the cast.

Sara Paxton, who played Sarah Borden in Summerland, has also starred in the films Sleepover, Aquamarine and Sydney White.

Sigler Cast in NBC’s Jimmy Fallon Comedy Project

Following guest-starring roles on Ugly Betty, Entourage and Last Man Standing, Jamie-Lynn Sigler could be making her triumphant return to primetime television as a series regular.

The 30-year-old half-Cuban actress, best known as Meadow Soprano on HBO’s The Sopranos, has joined the cast of NBC’s Jimmy Fallon comedy project DILFs.

The multi-camera comedy, written by Charlie Grandy, centers on three 30-something guys enjoying the adventures of parenting despite the fact they haven’t grown up themselves.
