Nathalie Kelley

Written by Dean Georgarisand to be directed by David Frankel, The Baker and the Beauty follows the impossible Miami love story between a simple baker and an international superstar, Noa Hollander (Kelley) has it all: She’s the most famous woman in the country, the beautiful daughter of a real estate magnate, a successful model with an international career and, up until now, one half of a Hollywood power couple. The son of Cuban immigrants, Daniel Garcia is a simple guy who still lives with his parents and works at the family bakery. A chance encounter at a fancy restaurant — where Daniel may or may not propose to his eager girlfriend of eight years and where Noa is avoiding public speculation about a breakup from her Hollywood lover – leads to unexpected sparks and an even more unlikely love story.

Kelley’s Hollander is an international superstar recognized all over the world and one of the most famous and desired women on Earth. Noa was a young heiress, who turned her modeling career into a fashion empire and now is making the jump to acting. She has all the qualities you’d expect to find in an international superstar: She’s fickle, guarded, entitled — but underneath all that, there is a real warmth to her. She’s a woman with a lot of love to give but no real idea how to do that.

In the original Israeli series, which aired for two seasons, Noa Hollander was played by Rotem Sela.

Kelley played one of the leads, Cristal Flores, on the first season of the CW’s Dynasty reboot. Her exit triggered strong reaction from fans. Kelley also is known for her work on The Vampire Diaries and UnReal.

This marks her return to ABC and ABC Studios after a recurring role on Body of Proof.

Adan Canto is headed to Netflix

After being resurrected from its cancellation at ABC, the 36-year-old Mexican actor’s series Designated Survivor is officially moving seasons 1 and 2 to Netflix from its home at Hulu. The move comes after it was announced the political drama would get a third season at the streaming giant.

Adan Canto

The news comes ahead of the release of season 3.

Originally, Hulu had U.S. SVOD rights to the first two seasons of Designated Survivor, which was originally on ABC. With the new Netflix deal, seasons 1 and 2 are now exclusively available on Netflix in the U.S. and Canada. Netflix originally had the series internationally, which made it a suitable home.

The first two seasons of Designated Survivor on ABC were co-produced by eOne and ABC Studios. Going forward, the series will be solely produced by eOne, with ABC Studios no longer involved.

The third season of the series, which stars Kiefer Sutherland, will have a new showrunner Neal Baer (Law & Order: SVU). The core cast of the series, including Sutherland, Canto, Kal Penn and Italia Ricci, are set to return, with Maggie Q in talks to join them.

Production on Season 3 is set to begin later this year for a 2019 premiere. Baer and Sutherland executive produce the series with series creator David Guggenheim.

In season 3, President Kirkman (Sutherland) will face a political reality… campaigning. What does it take to make a leader? What price will he be willing to pay? This season will explore today’s world of campaigning, smear tactics, debates, campaign finance and “fake news.” Democracy, as we know it, will hang in the balance.

The Netflix deal included a 10-episode season 3 order.

CBS Renews Adam Rodriguez’s “Criminal Minds” for a 14th Season

Adam Rodriguez will still be Minds-ing his business…

CBS has renewed its veteran drama Criminal Minds, starring the 43-year-old Puerto Rican and Cuban American actor, for a 14th season.

Adam Rodriguez

After a long run at 9:00 pm, Criminal Minds moved to 10:00 pm this season. It has improved the time period and is doing well in delayed viewing.

The crime drama ended its 13th season on a cliffhanger, reportedly with the blessing of CBS. A cancellation would’ve robbed the show’s loyal fans of a proper ending and would’ve deprived the series of hitting the 300th episode milestone, ending its run with 299.

Now Criminal Minds‘ Season 14 premiere will also mark the show’s 300th episode, giving it an extra promotional push.

Criminal Minds revolves around an elite team of FBI profilers who analyze the country’s most twisted criminal minds, anticipating their next moves before they strike again. Joe Mantegna stars as David Rossi, along with Paget Brewster as Emily Prentiss, Matthew Gray Gubler as Dr. Spencer Reid, A.J. Cook as Jennifer “JJ” Jareau, Aisha Tyler as Dr. Tara Lewis, Kirsten Vangsness as Penelope Garcia, Rodriguez as Luke Alvez and Daniel Henney as Matt Simmons.

ABC Studios produces in association with CBS Television Studios.
