Octavio Rodriguez to Appear on Paramount+’s Drama “Landman”

Octavio Rodriguez is officially a landman….

The Latino actor has landed a recurring role in the Paramount+ drama Landman from Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace.

Octavio Rodriguez,Rodriguez is joined by Freeridge actor J.R. Villarreal on the recurring actor roster.

They join series regulars Billy Bob Thornton, Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, Jacob Lofland, Kayla Wallace, James Jordan, Mark Collie, Paulina Chávez and Demi Moore; and recurring stars Jon Hamm, Colm Feore and Mustafa Speaks.

Set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas, Landman is a modern-day tale of fortune seeking in the world of oil rigs. Based on the 11-part podcast Boomtown, the series is an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics.

Rodriguez will play Antonio, a hard man who is angry when his family suffers a tragedy.

Villarreal will play Manuel, an oil crewman who is looking for reprisal after a disaster.

Currently filming in and around Fort Worth, Texas, Landman is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios and Sheridan’s Bosque Ranch Productions exclusively for Paramount+.

Rodriguez’s credits include Chicago P.D.Grey’s Anatomy and Homeland.

Levy to Star Opposite Milla Jovovich in Screen Gems’ Next “Resident Evil” Film

William Levy has a new residency in Hollywood

The 35-year-old Cuban actor and telenovela star has joined the cast of the closing chapter of Screen GemsResident Evil franchise.

The film stars Milla Jovovich and Ali Larter, with Paul W.S. Anderson directing his script.

The film picks up where 2012’s Resident Evil: Retribution left off, as Project Alice races against time to stop the villainous Red Queen from destroying the final remnants of humanity.

In addition to Levy, Jovovich and Larter, the film will also star Iain Glen, Shawn Roberts, Ruby Rose and Eoin Macken.

Shooting starts this month in South Africa.

Levy, who came in in third place on season 14 of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, previously starred in Planet 51, The Single Moms Club and Addicted.

He next appears in Term Life and The Veil.

Rodriguez to Star in Indie Film “Lovesick”

Don’t fault Adam Rodriguez for feeling a little lovesick this summer…

The 37-year-old Puerto Rican/Cuban American actor, who most recently showed some serious skin in Magic Mike, has joined the cast of Lovesick.

Rodriguez will star opposite Matt LeBlanc, Ali Larter, Chevy Chase and Kristin Johnson in the indie romantic comedy, which centers on Charlie Darby, a sweet high school principal who goes off the rails whenever he falls in love.

Rodriguez will portray Jason, the married best friend to LeBlanc’s Charlie character.

Lovesick, directed by Oscar winner Luke Mathaney, is currently filming in Los Angeles.

Before making the move to the big screen, Rodriguez was best known for his role as Eric Delko as on CBS’ now cancelled CSI: Miami for 10 seasons.
