Noomi Rapace has landed her next role.
The 46-year-old half-Spanish actress has joined Amazon MGM Studios and Thunder Road’s The Kellys, joining previously announced cast members Arnold Schwarzenegger, Liam Hemsworth, Kelsey Asbille, Abby Elliot and Geena Davis.
Rapace is among a roster of new cast additions that includes Ron Funches, Michael Biehn, Roland Møller, Laz Alonso, Basil Eidenbenz,and Dan Fogler.
Brad Peyton is directing the film, off Tze Chun’s screenplay.
The film follows Jack Kelly, a disgraced New York City cop whose wife, Molly, is taken hostage by terrorists inside an old armory building. To save her, he’ll have to join forces with the people he fears most: his family.
Amazon MGM landed global distribution for the film and will stream it in more than 240 countries on Prime Video.
Rapace rose to acclaim with her turn as Lisbeth Salander in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest, earning a Guldbagge Award, a Jupiter Award and BAFTA and European Film Award nominations.
Her feature credits include Ridley Scott’s Alien prequel Prometheus, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, Lamb and TV series Jack Ryan, Constellation and Django.
She has received multiple Best Actress honors across Europe, including for Beyond and Babycall, and won Denmark’s Bodil and Robert Awards for Daisy Diamond.
Alonso stars in Prime Video’s The Boys.
Later this year, Alonso stars in the Netflix romantic drama Don’t Ever Wonder, inspired by Maxwell’s iconic album Urban Hang Suite.
His additional film credits include James Cameron’s Avatar, Kathryn Bigelow’s Detroit, his NAACP Image Award–winning performance in Jumping the Broom, Guy Ritchie’s Fountain of Youth and Fast & Furious.
