Cardi B to Release Sophomore Album “Am I the Drama?” in September, Reveals Cover Art

Cardi B is preparing to bring the drama this September…

The 32-year-old half-Dominican American Grammy-winning rap superstar has finally revealed plans for her long-awaited sophomore album, Am I the Drama?, which will arrive on September 19.

Cardi BSeven years in the making, Cardi made the announcement official on Monday, June 23, with the LP’s gloomy cover art.

“AM I THE DRAMA? My new album is out September 19th! Preorder LINK IN BIO,” she wrote.

Cardi B hinted at being in album mode on Sunday, June 22, with a post to Instagram, featuring her narrating the arduous journey to reach this point in her decorated career.

“Seven years and the time has come. Seven years of love, light and loss,” Cardi said in the clip. “Seven years I gave them grace, but now I give them hell. I learned power’s not giving, it’s taking. I’m shedding feathers and no more tears. I’m not back, I’m beyond. I’m not your villain, I’m your karma. The time is here. The time is now.”

Cardi put the rap world on notice with her ineffable Invasion of Privacy album in 2018, which netted her two Billboard Hot 100 No. 1s (she now has a total of five) and went on to win best rap album at the 2019 Grammy Awards. Every track from her debut is at least certified platinum by the RIAA.

The album comes on the heels of Cardi dropping her thumping “Outside” single on Friday, June 19, setting the stage for the LP, which also includes smash hits “Up” and “WAP” on the 23-track LP.

Cardi B, Am I the Drama?

It’s been a long road for Cardi B and the Bardi Gang to her sophomore effort. Back in May, she chalked up waiting on verses from guests for the delay.

“I really need these f–king features,” she said in a repost of the Spaces. “And it’s like I’m not really trying to press or go crazy on these artists because I love them down. But it’s like come on now! I need that! I need that right now! Helloooo! Y’all don’t want to miss this opportunity. I’ll sing this s–t myself! But I really need y’all and I need y’all to hurry up and I love y’all. I feel like nobody want to miss being on this album.”

After filing for divorce from Offset last August, Cardi B is entering a new chapter of her life as she’s currently in a relationship with NFL star Stefon Diggs.

With a release date set for Sept. 19, the countdown to Am I the Drama? is on.

Cardi B Announces Plans to Release New Single “Outside” This Week

You can catch Cardi B outside

The 32-year-old half-Dominican American Grammy-winning rap superstar has announced plans to release her first solo single of 2025, with “Outside” slated to arrive on Friday, June 20.

Cardi B “We OUTSIDE this Friday,” she wrote on Instagram.

The cover art encapsulates a summer turn-up in NYC, featuring a sidewalk with an overflowing fire hydrant alongside remnants of party favors like dominoes, open lipstick, blunt wrappers and red Solo cups.

The Bardi Gang was ecstatic to hear that Cardi was returning with a hopeful summer smash. “DOWNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN BABY! When I tell you I’m so happy because I ran that snippet out,” one person wrote in her comments.

Cardi has teased snippets of the single on social media in recent months, and the positive reception has finally led to a full release.

“I’ve been cuffed up too long, let me remind n—as,” she raps about moving on from Offset. “Your favorite player on your favorite team, he in my DM.”

Also this year, she appears on the Smurfs Movie soundtrack and joined Pardison Fontaine for “Toot It Up.” “Outside” marks Cardi’s first single since “Enough” in 2024.

She has kept busy throughout 2025 with appearances at the Met Gala and the start of a new chapter with NFL star Stefon Diggs. Cardi went public with her relationship in May when she was spotted courtside at a New York Knicks playoff game with Diggs.

Cardi’s also been in mom mode, taking care of her three children. She posted the first official photos of her baby Blossom on Instagram earlier this week, which saw Cardi having a fun pool day at home with the kids.

Cardi B Teases Fiery Next Single on TikTok

Cardi B is teasing her next fiery single…

The 31-year-old half-Dominican American Grammy-winning rap superstar has released a teaser for what appears to be her next single in a TikTok video from the recording studio.

Cardi BBarefoot and dressed down, Cardi ripped off her typically acerbic lines over a spare, g-funk style beat, once again calling out her haters.

“Me vs. you and you know who they pickin’,” she rhymes to set up the unnamed track. “I can survive in the coldest conditions… B–ches is washed, soapin’ the dishes/ I apply pressure like boa constrictors/ One b–ch, two b–ch, old b–ch, new b–ch, none of y’all not gonna do s–t/ I’m in Miami I pull up on cruise ships.”

Dancing along to her own track, Cardi gives the ultimate ultimatum, rapping, “I see my opps linking up, I’m like, ‘What the f–k?/ If you scared, then just say that hoe/ Enough is enough.”

The post got a few comment from famous friends, including SZA, who wrote “the hair is giving” and Camila Cabello, who added, “sheeeeesh.”

At press time Cardi hadn’t provided any additional information regarding the track, though the caption of her TikTok post, “15” and a winking emoji, appeared to suggest it was due out on March 15.

If the song comes out next week, it would mark the follow-up to last week’s “Like What (Freestyle).” She also dropped a sexy video for the freestyle in which pays tribute to Missy Elliot and tries on a wide variety of eclectic outfits in the clip directed by estranged husband rapper Offset.

“Like What” is Cardi’s first solo record since 2021’s “Up,” which earned the rapper her a Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit and a 2022 Grammy nomination for best rap performance. Since then she’s dropped “Tomorrow 2” with GloRilla, “Jealously” with Offset and the Megan Thee Stallion collab “Bongos.”

Cardi has been teasing new music for months, including an in Instagram Story last week in which she told fans that her long-awaited sophomore album could be released this year.

She told the Bardi Gang that she was “not letting my anxiety, I’m not letting what haters say, I’m not letting what fans say” prevent her from releasing new songs, adding that “I’ve got no choice because I’m dropping my album this year, so stay tuned for the announcement.”

It would be the follow-up to the MC’s breakthrough 2018 debut studio album, Invasion of Privacy, which earned her a Grammy.

Cardi B Shares Snippet of Unreleased Song

Cardi B is offering a sneak peek at unreleased music…

The 30-year-old half-Dominican American Grammy-winning rap superstar has offered fans an early Christmas present by dropping a seven-second snippet of an unreleased song as her Bardi Gang awaits the follow-up to her Grammy-winning debut studio album, 2018’s Invasion of Privacy.

Cardi B“HERE some scraps since yall STARVING,” Cardi wrote in a tweet featuring the scant bars from an unnamed song she never finished. “They be watchin’ every time that I post (that I post)/ Posted nothin’, always gotta do the most/ B—-es sound like you broke,” she raps over a hard-hitting beat.

When a fan asked why the song was scrapped, Cardi responded, “I just don’t love it.”

“I have no choice, I have to put it out,” Cardi told The Breakfast Club earlier this month when asked about when fans can expect new music. “I have like a couple of songs that are like definite, I don’t know. I don’t know what’s going on with me. I need to just make up my mind and put it out.” She also revealed that even though it’s time for her to return to the radio, Cardi thinks the project is still “missing something,” even as she confirmed that the fresh tunes are coming in 2023.

As the wait continues, Cardi and her family are gearing up for Christmas, as evidenced by another post on the rapper’s socials in which she revealed the multiple glittery trees in her home. In a video featuring a cameo from one-year-old son Wave Set, Cardi showed off her children’s towering Disney-themed tree — as she yelled at the little ones to “stop running around the Christmas tree!! — as well as the impressive light array outside her house.

Cardi B is the first female rapper to achieve a diamond single award, according to the RIAA, meaning “Bodak Yellow” has moved 10 million units. According to the RIAA, one equivalent song unit is equal to a single digital song sale, or 150 on-demand audio and/or video streams. Cardi B reached the milestone on Monday, and her hit collaboration “WAP,” featuring Megan Thee Stallion, is halfway there with its 5x multi-platinum status as of March 3, according to the RIAA website.

Cardi B posted a video explaining how her label Atlantic Records surprised her with the plaque at a restaurant after a long, exhausting day of rehearsal.

“I just want to say thank you guys so much because without you guys, it wouldn’t have happened,” she told the Bardi Gang. “It really made my day. And it really uplifted me.”
