Kate del Castillo to Star in the Action Film “Trap House”

Kate del Castillo has trapped her next project.

The 51-year-old Mexican actress will star opposite Dave Bautista in the action film Trap House.

Kate del Castillodel Castillo is among a roster of new cast additions that includes Jack Champion, Sophia Lillis, Tony Dalton, Whitney Peak and Bobby Cannavale.

Inde Navarrette, Zaire Adams and Blu del Barrio have also joined the cast.

Principal photography is set to begin today.

Michael Dowse will direct a script written by Fast & Furious creator Gary Scott Thompson and Tom O’Connor. The action film follows an undercover DEA agent and his partner who embark on a game of cat and mouse with an audacious group of thieves: their own rebellious teenagers, who have begun robbing from a dangerous cartel, using their parents’ tactics and top-secret intel to pull off their heists.

Trap House is produced by Marc Goldberg and Sarah Gabriel of Signature Films, Michael Pruss and Rebecca Feuer of Scott Free Productions with Ridley Scott executive producing alongside Bautista and Jonathan Meisner of Bautista’s Dogbone Entertainment and Todd Lundbohm of 828 Productions.

The feature is financed and executive produced by Christian Mercuri’s Capstone Studios, Signature Entertainment, Creativity Media and Koala, and Ashland Hill Media Finance.

Dogbone and Signature developed Trap House after working together on 2018’s actioner Final Score, which starred Bautista alongside Pierce Brosnan.

del Castillo currently stars in Fox’s The Cleaning Lady.

Cannavale’s film credits include Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman and Old Dads.

Paramount+ has released a preview of the upcoming fifth and final season of Star Trek: Discovery, starring the 49-year-old Puerto Rican actor.

Star Trek: Discovery is set to premiere in April 2024 on the streamer.

In the new footage, Capt. Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) and Cleveland “Book” Booker (David Ajala) contend with a massive, hostile alien creature that has the ability to cloak itself.

Per the official logline, Season 5 “will find Captain Burnham and the crew of the U.S.S. Discovery uncovering a mystery that will send them on an epic adventure across the galaxy to find an ancient power whose very existence has been deliberately hidden for centuries. But there are others on the hunt as well … dangerous foes who are desperate to claim the prize for themselves and will stop at nothing to get it.”

In addition to Martin-Green, Ajala and Cruz, who portrays Dr. Hugh Culber, Star Trek: Discovery also stars Doug Jones (Saru), Anthony Rapp (Paul Stamets), Mary Wiseman (Sylvia Tilly), Blu del Barrio (Adira) and Callum Keith Rennie (Rayner). Season 5 also features recurring guest stars’ Elias Toufexis (L’ak) and Eve Harlow (Moll).

The series is produced by CBS Studios in association with Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment. Star Trek: Discovery co-showrunners Alex Kurtzman and Paradise serve as executive producers alongside Heather Kadin, Aaron Baiers, Olatunde Osunsanmi, Frank Siracusa, John Weber, Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth.

Paramount+ has released the official trailer for season four of Star Trek: Discovery, starring the 47-year-old Puerto Rican actor.

Now living in a time filled with uncertainty, the Discovery crew, along with the help of some new friends, must work together to restore hope to the Federation.

“We’re all living in uncertainty. Even for a crew as familiar with it as this one, the stress is taking its toll,” Sonequa Martin-Green’s Commander Burnham says. “But we are not in this alone, none of us are.”

From total destruction to parts of the U.S.S. Discovery to the loss of beloved crew members, the Star Trek: Discovery Season 4 teaser hints at an enemy that’s larger than anyone aboard the spaceship.

To face the invisible adversary that comes without “any kind of warning at all,” Commander Burnham says it’s imperative that everyone band together to retain hope and escape the unknown.

Star Trek: Discovery Season 4 will premiere on Paramount+ in 2021 and also features Doug Jones, Anthony Rapp, Mary Wiseman, David Ajala, Blu del Barrio and Ian Alexander.

The sci-fi series streams exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S., and the series is distributed concurrently by ViacomCBS Global Distribution Group on Netflix in 190 countries and in Canada on Bell Media’s CTV Sci-Fi Channel and streams on Crave.

Wilson Cruz will be beaming down to this year’s New York Comic-Com.

The 46-year-old Puerto Rican actor and his Star Trek: Discovery cast mates will be taking part in a special panel discussion at thevirtual confab, which will take place on October 8-11.
