Andre Royo to Appear on Gloria Caldéron Kellett’s Rom-Com Series “With Love”

The Afro-Cuban actor has joined the cast of With Love, Amazon’s one-hour romantic comedy series from Gloria Caldéron Kellett, GloNation Studios and Amazon Studios.

The series stars Emeraude Toubia and Mark Indelicato.

Created and written by Kellett, With Love follows the Diaz siblings, Lily (Toubia) and Jorge (Indelicato), who are on a mission to find love and purpose. The Diaz siblings cross paths with seemingly unrelated residents during some of the most heightened days of the year — the holidays.

Royo joins the series in a recurring role and will appear as Santiago’s (Rome Flynn) father, Laz Zayas. He is a proud Afro-Cuban man. He runs a furniture building company with his son and is a master woodworker. He is hardworking, devoted to his family, but has been hiding a secret.

The With Love cast also features Isis King, Todd Grinnell, Desmond Chiam, Constance Marie, Benito Martinez and Vincent Rodriguez III.

All episodes will be written and executive produced by Kellett. The pilot episode will be directed and executive produced by Meera MenonWith Love is produced by Kellett’s production company, GloNation and Amazon Studios.

Royo can be seen in Season 2 of Apple’s Truth Be Told opposite Octavia Spencer. He can also be seen acting alongside Peter Skarsgard in CBS All Access’ Interrogation. Additional credits include Fox’s Empire, Amazon’s Hand of GodHunter GathererBeautiful Boy, Happyish, In Security and Fringe.

Odette Annable Upped to Series Regular on The CW’s Drama Series “Walker”

After recurring in Season 1 of Walker, the 35-year-old Colombian & Cuban American actress has been upped to series regular for the upcoming second season of the breakout hit CW drama series.

The reboot of the popular CBS drama centers on Cordell Walker (Jared Padalecki), a widower and father of two with his own moral code who returns home to Austin after being undercover for two years, only to discover there’s harder work to be done at home.

Annable, who appears in six of 11 Season 1 episodes, plays Geraldine “Geri” Broussard, an old friend of Cordell Walker (Padalecki) and his late wife Emily (Genevieve Padalecki) who runs a bar and has emerged as a romantic interest for Cordell.

It’s familiar territory for Annable, who has been a lead/series regular on a slew of series, including the CW’s SupergirlCBS All Access’ Tell Me a StoryCBS’ Pure Genius and Fox’s House and Breaking In.

CBS All Access is offering the public a chance to watch the first episode of its new drama series Coyote, starring the 43-year-old Colombian actor, on YouTube.

For a limited time, CBS’ streaming service is posting the premiere episode “Call of the Void” for free on YouTube.

The series stars Michael Chiklis as U.S. Border Patrol agent Ben Clemens, who has spent more than three decades protecting the U.S. border from threats to the nation – but now times have changed. Clemens now finds himself in a position of having to work for the very people he’s spent most of his life fighting against. But as Clemens experiences life on the other side of the wall, he soon realizes that his black-and-white views of the world no longer hold up to the cold, hard facts. Clemens will find his ideologies challenged and his loyalties questioned when it becomes all too clear that some of the deadliest threats he faces are “red, white, and blue.”

Raba stars as Juan Diego “El Catrin” Zamora, the head of a small family cartel in Mexico.

The series also stars Adriana Paz, Kristyan Ferrer, Octavio Pisano, Cynthia Kaye McWilliams, Julio Cedillo, and newcomer Emy Mena.

Emmy Award-winning executive producer Michelle MacLaren directed the series premiere and second episode and serves as an executive producer on the series.

David Graziano serves as showrunner. Co-creators Graziano, Michael Carnes, and Josh Gilbert (also serve as executive producers and writers on the series.

Quiles, who featured in ABC’s Station 19 and is in NBC’s upcoming comedy Mr. Mayor, joins the series in a recurring capacity.

This season of the dark comedy features a new ensemble cast and storylines set in 1949 that will explore what it means to be beautiful, the hidden truth behind the facades people present to the world, the effects of being ignored and overlooked by society, and finally, the lengths one woman will go in order to finally belong.

Quiles plays Brenda, as beautiful and entitled as her friends and another member of Rita’s exclusive garden club.

The series is produced by Imagine Television Studios and CBS Studios.

The Latina actress has landed a recurring role in season 2 of CBS All Access’ original anthology series Why Women Kill.

She joins previously announced series regulars Allison Tolman, Nick Frost, Lana Parrilla, B.K. Cannon, Jordane Christie, Matthew Daddario and Veronica Falcón in the series that hails from Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry, Imagine Television Studios and CBS Studios.

This season of the dark comedy features a new ensemble cast and storylines set in 1949 that will explore what it means to be beautiful, the hidden truth behind the facades people present to the world, the effects of being ignored and overlooked by society, and finally, the lengths one woman will go in order to finally belong.

Galindo plays Isabel, Rita’s (Parilla) maid with a bit of an edge, wry and pragmatic. She is well aware that Rita is not only having an affair with a younger man, but had hoped and believed that her elderly husband would be dead by now. On the surface, Isabel is the perfect maid, who helps with the garden party and other chores, but underneath it all she may understand Rita the best.

The series is produced by Imagine Television Studios and CBS Studios.

Galindo’s previous credits include The Binge, All Rise, Chicago Fire and Chicago PD.

Lana Parrilla to Star on CBS All Access’ Anthology Series “Why Women Kill”

The 43-year-old half-Puerto Rican actress has joined the cast for the second season of CBS All Access’ anthology series Why Women Kill.

Parrilla, who won a Teen Choice Award for her role as The Evil Queen/Regina Mills on ABC’s Once Upon a Time, is part of a roster of new cast additions that includes Queen of the South’s Veronica Falcón, B.K. Cannon, Jordane Christie and Matthew Daddario.

They join previously announced cast members Allison Tolman and Nick Frost in the series that hails from Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry, Imagine Television Studios and CBS Studios.

This season of the dark comedy features a new ensemble cast and storylines set in 1949 that will explore what it means to be beautiful, the hidden truth behind the facades people present to the world, the effects of being ignored and overlooked by society, and finally, the lengths one woman will go in order to finally belong.

Parrilla will play Rita, the sardonic wife to the wealthy and evil Carlo Castillo. As she waits for her elderly husband to die, Rita runs the garden club with an iron fist and spends much of her time engaging in an affair with a younger lover.

Falcón will play Catherine, Carlo Castillo’s spinster daughter. Prim and proper, Catherine detests her father’s gorgeous wife, Rita, and returns to town after a mysterious accident, seeking a way to destroy her.

Parrilla can be seen in David Ayer’s indie thriller The Tax Collector. Her previous credits include Prior Boomtown, Windfall, Swingtown, Miami Medical, Spin City and 24.

Falcón’s credits include starring roles in Queen of the South, an episode of the anthology Room 104 and Perpetual Grace LTD. Most recently, she appeared in Perry Mason and can next be seen in Marvel’s Winter Falcon, as well as the upcoming films Jungle Cruise, the next installment of The Purge franchise, Ted Melfi’s The Starling and Neil Burger’s Voyagers.

The 48-year-old Latino actor has signed with Innovative Artists.

Martinez was most recently a series regular on ABC’s Stumptown.

His other television credits include heavy recurring roles on CBS All Access’ No Activity and NBC’s The Blacklist: Redemption.

In film, Martinez will soon be seen in Disney+’s Lady and the Tramp, in Jamie Babbit’s The Stand-In opposite Drew Barrymore, and in Jordan Galland’s Leave Not One Alive opposite Bella Thorne.

He’s also had a major leading role in the feature film Focus starring Will Smith and Margot Robbie.

Martinez continues to be repped by Vault Entertainment and Sarna & Associates.

CBS All Access Renews Wilson Cruz’s “Star Trek: Discovery” for Fourth Season

A day after its Season 3 premiere, CBS All Access announced it has renewed Star Trek: Discovery, starring the 46-year-old Puerto Rica actor, for a fourth season.

Production is set to begin on November 2.

In a video clip, stars Sonequa Martin-Green and Doug Jones and executive producers/co-showrunners Alex Kurtzman and Michelle Paradise share the news as they prepare to head back to work amid strict COVID-19 protocols.

In Season 3, after following Commander Burnham (Martin-Green) into the wormhole in the second-season finale, the 13-episode third season finds the crew of the U.S.S. Discovery landing in an unknown future far from the home they once knew. Now living in a time filled with uncertainty, the Discovery crew, along with the help of some new friends, must work together to restore hope to the Federation.

Cruz, Anthony Rapp, Mary Wiseman and David Ajala also star in the Emmy-winning sci-fi drama series.

Seasons 1 and 2 are available to stream on CBS All Access, which will rebrand as Paramount+ next year.

John Leguizamo to Take Part in Upcoming CBS Special “Essential Heroes: A Momento Latino Event”

The 56-year-old Colombian actor and stand-up comedian will take part in CBS’ upcoming special Essential Heroes: A Momento Latino Event.

Leguizamo is among a roster of new additions to the special that includes José Andrés, Arturo Castro, John Leguizamo, George Lopez, Isabela Merced, Rita Moreno, Ana Navarro, Freddy Rodriguez and Wilmer Valderrama.

 

The event will be produced and hosted by Eva Longoria. Ricky Martin and Gloria Estefan are also set to co-host.

 

The star-studded lineup will join the show, created by Henry R. Muñoz III and directed by Ron de Moraes, to celebrate Latinx culture while also shedding light on those in the community that have been heavily impacted by the novel coronavirus pandemic and those who play an essential role in fighting COVID-19.

Apart from the array of Latinx voices speaking at the event, the event will also feature musical performances, comedy pieces and docu-shorts aimed to spread awareness on the Latinx experience.

 

The special follows Longoria’s recent launch of a lifestyle site for the Latina community, She Se Puede, that covers fashion, health, culture and voting.

 

Essential Heroes: A Momento Latino Event will broadcast Monday, October 26 from 9:00-10:00pm, ET/PT on the CBS Television Network. Audiences can also stream the event live and on demand on CBS All Access.

The 45-year-old Mexican American actress and former Desperate Housewives star will host an evening that shines a spotlight on Latino culture in America with Gloria Estefan and Ricky Martin.

Essential Heroes: A Momento Latino Event will herald America’s diversity with a focus on Latino culture. The CBS special will not only highlight the different facets of Latino culture, but will also bring attention to those in the community who’ve been deeply impacted by COVID-19, including essential workers.

The special will air on October 26 on CBS and CBS All Access.

“When COVID-19 hit the United States, people were quick to applaud our essential workers, many of whom are Latinos, for helping to keep food on our tables, delivering our packages and working in our healthcare system,” said Longoria. “The Latinx community has been the backbone of this country for hundreds of years, not just the last seven months, and it’s time that we not only know our own worth, but are also recognized, appreciated and celebrated accordingly for our contributions, pandemic or not.”

The one-night special, created by Henry R. Muñoz III and directed by Ron de Moraes, will feature musical performances, comedy sets, docu-shorts and appearances from notable Latino stars. CBS will announce performers and stars to participate at a later date.

“We created Momento Latino because we understand the challenges that Latinos in America face every day, and we knew we had to bring together a national infrastructure of opportunity to move the community forward into the future,” said Muñoz, founder of Momento Latino. “We’ve brought together more than 130 organizations, nonprofits, artists, activists and community leaders so far, and through this special we can share with the nation the inspiring stories of how Latinos served as the backbone of this country’s essential workforce throughout the pandemic despite being among the hardest hit by the disease and the economic fallout.”
