Howie Dorough & His Backstreet Boys Announce Backstreet’s Back at the Beach All-Inclusive Concert Vacation

Howie Dorough is preparing to perform in paradise…

The 49-year-old half-Puerto Rican singer and his fellow Backstreet Boys members are preparing for a little fun in the sun as they continue celebrating their 30-plus years as a group.

Dorough and his boy band mates announced Backstreet’s Back at the Beach on Tuesday (June 27), an all-inclusive concert vacation situated on the beach in Cancún, Mexico.

The inaugural event will feature two shows right on the beach, including their DNA show as well as a 30-for-30 performance in which the group will perform a set entirely chosen by fans, per a press release.

The weekend trip, which will take place at Moon Palace Cancún from April 18 to 21, 2024, will include a full resort takeover, daily pool parties, themed activities and more.

There will also be several events with the boys, including a tequila and guacamole tasting with Dorough, a DJ set by Kevin Richardson, karaoke with AJ McLean, a beach volleyball tournament with Nick Carter, and a special variety show featuring Brian Littrell’s whole family.

To round out the musical portion of the trip, Jason Derulo will be joining the Backstreet Boys as a headliner in addition to daily performances from Eric Cubeecchee and DJ YO-C.

Travel Packages for Backstreet’s Back At The Beach will be available to purchase starting on July 7 at 1:00 pm ET here, with the pre-sale beginning at 12:00 pm ET on July 6.

All event packages include resort accommodations, round-trip airport transportation, bottomless top-shelf drinks, culinary offerings, 24-hour room service, access to private white sand beaches, daily yoga sessions, complimentary WiFi and more.

Howie Dorough & Fellow Backstreet Boys Release Claymation Video for “Christmas in New York”

Everything’s a-oclay for Howie Dorough…

The 49-year-old half-Puerto Rican singer and his fellow Backstreet Boys have released a new music video for their holiday track “Christmas in New York.”

The sweet and sentimental visual sees the quintet — Nick Carter, Dorough, AJ McLean, Brian Littrell and Kevin Richardson — passionately singing the holiday track while their claymation counterparts explore a twinkling New York City during Christmas time.

The claymation dolls of the boy group witness and participate in classic scenes.

One features a dressed up Santa with an elf at his side ringing a bells and asking for donations with a big red bucket. The dolls head down to the TV-decorated intersection of Times Square, take a horse-drawn carriage ride in Central Park, view the holiday windows at Macy’s 34th street and go ice-skating in Rockefeller Center.

“All the elves are busy/ On Macy’s eighth floor/ It’s good to know there is still a miracle on 34th/ But what I love the most/ Is holding you this close/ This is what they made the Season for/ Oh, spending Christmas in/ Oh, another Christmas in/ Oh, yes, another Christmas in New York,” Littrell closes out the song with the rest of the members.

“Christmas in New York” hails from the boy band’s A Very Backstreet Christmas. The LP — which marked the group’s first collection of yuletide songs and its first studio effort in three years — was released on October 14 via BMG. The set charted at No. 17 on the Billboard 200 following its release.

In addition to “Christmas in New York,” other holiday tracks like “White Christmas,” “Silent Night,” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” are included on the album.

“Christmas in New York” is one of three original Christmas songs on the album; the others are titled “Together” and “Happy Days.”

Dorough & the Backstreet Boys Launching 18-Date Las Vegas Residency

The 42-year-old half-Puerto Rican singer and his fellow Backstreet Boys band mates will kick off an 18-date trial residency at The AXIS at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on March 1, 2017, according to Billboard.

“If you’ve ever been to a Backstreet Boys show… it’s going to be that on steroids,” says Brian Littrell.

“We’re going to call the show Larger Than Life, and we’re taking that theme and we’re going to run with it,” adds Kevin Richardson.

The show, split between March and June/July runs, is a joint venture between Caesars Entertainment and Live Nation, and promises to be a “one-of-a-kind, over-the-top” production featuring the Grammy-winning group’s greatest hits and more.

The quintet’s arrival in Las Vegas cements a burgeoning era of pop music residencies on The Strip, with acts including Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez having breathed new life into traditional residency set-ups in recent years.

“The AXIS marked a new era of entertainment, bringing the first pop music residencies to the famed Las Vegas Strip,” says Jason Gastwirth, Caesars Entertainment senior vice president of marketing and entertainment. “Introducing the Backstreet Boys further solidifies our reputation as a premier destination for live entertainment.”

Tickets for the shows will start at $39, plus fees and taxes, and go on sale at 10am on October 1st, with various pre-sales kicking off from Monday.

Dorough & The Backstreet Boys to Perform in Four Australian Cities

Howie Dorough is headed Down Under…

The 41-year-old half-Puerto Rican singer and his fellow Backstreet Boys band mates are heading back to Australia.

The boy band’s In A World Like This Tour will play arenas in four Australian cities, beginning May 8 at Melbourne’s 15,000 capacity Rod Laver Arena and wrapping at May 15 at Perth Arena (also 15,000 capacity). It’ll be their first trek of the country for almost a decade.

Live Nation Australia announced the tour on Thursday and confirmed original member Kevin Richardson would join his bandmates — Dorough, Brian Littrell, A. J. McLean and Nick Carter — for the dates. Richardson, who returned to BSB in 2012 after a six-year break, performed on the 2013 album release, In A World Like This.

The band’s eight studio set opened at No. 5 in the U.S., and was released to coincide with the Backstreet Boys’ 20th anniversary. Richardson and co. have since played shows across Europe, Asia and North America.

“This last year and a half of touring with my bandmates again couldn’t have been any better, but I’m so excited to finally get back to Australia and play for our Aussie fans,” Richardson says in a statement. “It wouldn’t feel complete without spending time in one of our favorite places.”

Tickets go on sale at midday Feb. 23. The band’s fan club (Feb. 13-15), Telstra customers (Feb. 18-Feb. 20) and members of My Live Nation (Feb. 20) have an early window for pre-sale tickets.

The Boys’ documentary Show ‘Em What You’re Made Of debuted in the U.S. last month and is due for an Australian release from March 28.

Gravitas Ventures Acquires North American Rights to Dorough’s Documentary “Backstreet Boys: Show ‘em What You’re Made of”

Howie Dorough is ready to show ‘em what he’s made of in the United States…

Gravitas Ventures has acquired the North American theatrical, VOD, and DVD rights to the 41-year-old half-Puerto Rican singer and his fellow boy band members’ documentary Backstreet Boys: Show ‘em What You’re Made of.

From Stones in Exile and Scott Walker: 30th Century Man director Stephen Kijak, the film chronicles two years in the lives of Dorough, Nick Carter, Brian Littrell, AJ McLean and Kevin Richardson, the boy banders who rose to pop stardom with 1996’s eponymous debut album Backstreet Boys, paving the way for the likes of *NSYNC, 98 Degrees, and other favorites of the Tiger Beat set.

But in Littrell’s own words, “From 1992 to 2002 we were the biggest band in the world… Then it just stopped. And what do you do when you’re a full grown man in a boy band?”

Despite selling 130 million records, going gold and platinum in 46 countries, and earning eight Grammy nods, the boy band bubble burst for Littrell & Co. in 2000 after peaking with Millennium. Kijak’s film teases an intimate reveal of “new and old tensions that need confronting and resolving” as the quintet relive their glory days.

All five members produced the Pulse Films, K-Bahn LLC and Missing in Action Films production along with Mia Bays.

The documentary hits U.S. theaters and VOD on January 30 before London’s More2Screen rolls it out worldwide on February 26, and will make its broadcast debut in Spring 2015 via VH1.

Dorough & The Backstreet Boys Release Video for “In a World Like This”

Howie Dorough and his fellow Backstreet Boys are back, alright!

The 39-year-old half-Puerto Rican singer and his fellow boy-banders have released the official music video for their new single “In a World Like This.”

The clip features all five original members of the band, Dorough, Nick Carter, Brian Littrell, A.J. McLean and Kevin Richardson, looking as fresh-faced as they were when they formed the band 20 years ago.

But Dorough and the gang have matured with the years, with their new track featuring a deep message.

With the quintet performing outdoors, the almost four-minute clip features several important events in American history such as the first moon landing, the 9/11 terrorist attacks and most recently, marriage equality.

“The concept of the video is based on the song, which tells a story of how love conquers all and ‘in a world like this’ that we live in, with all the craziness and negative energy that can go around, with real love you can overcome anything,” said McLean about the new video.

McLean added that by highlighting marriage equality in their new music video, “BSB wants to show our support for the LGBT community and we believe that two people of the same sex should have the right to get married. Gay marriage has been a long-standing issue and recently the LGBT community celebrated the U.S. Supreme Court ruling that gave legally married same-sex couples the same federal rights as heterosexual couples.”

The Backstreet Boys are set to release a new album on July 30 to mark their 20th anniversary in the music industry, as well as a world tour.
