Expanded Trailer Released for “Kick Ass 2,” Featuring Leguizamo’s Character

John Leguizamo is ready to kick arse

The 48-year-old Colombian American actor appears in the just-released Comic-Con red band trailer for Kick Ass 2.

And by the look of things, the sequel to the cult hit promises to be as violent and profane-riddled as its predecessor.

The expanded trailer features never before seen footage, with the body count, blood, gore and even creative profanity more intense than the first film.

“We put (these characters) through a meat grinder in this one,” said director Jeff Wadlow.

Along with Leguizamo, the film stars Jim Carrey, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Chloe Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse.

Kick Ass 2 opens nationwide on August 16.

Another action-packed trailer has been released for the highly anticipated film Kick-Ass 2, which stars the 48-year-old Colombian actor.

In the sequel to the 2010 pseudo-superhero film Kick-Ass, the costumed high-school hero Kick-Ass joins with a group of normal citizens who’ve been inspired to fight crime in costume. The copycat do-gooders include the masked Colonel Stars and Stripes (portrayed by Jim Carrey).Meanwhile, the Red Mist plots an act of revenge that will affect everyone Kick-Ass knows.

Leguizamo, who portrays Javier in the film, joins a cast that includes Kick-Ass 2’s returning actors Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Chloe Grace Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse.

CBS Films has upped the domestic release date for the 28-year-old half-Puerto Rican actress’ next movie The To-Do List some three weeks earlier.

Plaza’s comedy, which centers on an awkward overachiever who tries to make up for her sexual underachieving in high school before she heads to college, has been moved up from August 16 to July 26.

Instead of facing off against Universal’s action-comedy sequel Kick-Ass 2, it will now serve as counterprogramming to Fox’s highly anticipated film The Wolverine.

Along with Plaza, writer-director Maggie Carey’s film also stars Johnny Simmons, Bill Hader, Alia Shawkat, Rachel Bilson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Andy Samberg and Connie Britton.

Universal Pictures has announced plans to release Kick-Ass 2, which will feature the 48-year-old Colombian American actor/comedian, this August.

In the sequel to 2010’s Kick-Ass, Leguizamo will portray Javier, a bodyguard assigned to protect aspiring evil guy Red Mist, the role to be reprised by Christopher Mintz-Plasse.

Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz and Nicolas Cage will also be back to star in Kick-Ass 2, which will open nationwide on August 16, 2013.

Leguizamo Signs on for Two High-Profile Films

The 48-year-old Colombian-born actor/comedian, who can currently be heard in theaters in Ice Age 4: Continental Drift, has signed on to star in two highly anticipated films.

Leguizamo will appear in Ridley Scott’s The Counselor and the Jeff Wadlow-scripted Kick-Ass 2, despite a deal to star in the ABC comedy pilot Only Fools and Horses.

In The Counselor, he’ll play a low level drug dealer in the Cormac McCarthy-scripted film that stars Michael Fassbender, Brad Pitt, Penelope Cruz and Cameron Diaz.

Meanwhile, in the Kick-Ass sequel, he’ll play Javier, a bodyguard assigned to protect aspiring evil guy Red Mist, the role to be reprised by Christopher Mintz-Plasse. Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz and Nicolas Cage will also be back to star in Kick-Ass 2.
