The 28-year-old half-Puerto Rican actress and Pose star has signed with BWR PR.
Rodriguez is currently up for ta Critics Choice Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series for her role as house mother Blanca on the FXdrama.
This fall she starred as Audrey in Pasadena Playhouse‘s revival of Little Shop of Horrors.
Rodriguez continues to be represented by Gershand Perennial Entertainment.
There are dark times in Richard Cabral’s future…
The 34-year-old Mexican American actor and Mayans M.C. star is set to appear in an installment of Hulu’s Into The Dark, a monthly horror event series from Blumhouse Television.
The Into the Dark series includes 12 feature-length episodes, released each month over one year and inspired by a holiday, featuring Blumhouse’s signature genre/thriller spin on the story.
Cabral will play Santo, a scary, cartel killer since he was just a boy, in the Independence Day-themed installment.
Cabral received an Emmynomination for supporting actor in a limited series or movie for his portrayal of Hector Tonz in American Crime. He’s currently a lead in FX’s Mayans M.C., recently receiving a Critics’ Choice Awardnomination for his role as Johnny Coco Cruz. Season two begins production later this spring to air this fall.
Raoul Trujillo is revving up for a new role…
The 62-year-old part-Latino actor has landed a series regular role opposite Edward James Olmos and Michael Irby in Mayans MC, Kurt Sutter’s retooled Sons of Anarchy spinoff pilot for FX.
Set in the aftermath of Jax Teller’s death at the end of SoA’s seven-season run in 2014, Mayans MC will focus on the struggles of EZ Reyes (JD Pardo), a prospect in the Mayan MC charter on the California/Mexico border.
Trujillo will play Che “Taza” Romero, Vicepresidente of Mayans MC, Santo Padre Charter. As a longtime friend of Alvarez, he helped set up the Santo Padre chapter on the border. He’s hardened by the deterioration of his hometown, but an infinite source of wisdom to the club.
Trujillo, who starred in Sicario, can next be seen opposite Liam Neeson in Hard Powder, and in Hochelaga, Land of Souls directed by François Girard, Canada’s pick for the foreign-language Oscar race.
On the television side, he received a best supporting actor Critics’ Choice nomination for Nat Geo miniseries Saints & Strangers.
Oscar Isaac is getting a heroes reception…
The 36-year-old Guatemalan and Cuban American actor is among the Latino talents earning a Critics’ Choice Awards nomination.
Isaac earned his nod in the Actor in a Movie Made for Television or Limited Series for his performance in the HBO miniseries Show Me a Hero. It’s his first nomination in an acting category. He previously was nominated in the Song category for co-penning “Please Mr. Kennedy” for the film Inside Llewyn Davis with Adam Driver and Justin Timberlake.
Gina Rodriguez, who earned a Golden Globe earlier this year, picked up her second consecutive nomination in the Actress in a Comedy Series category for her starring role in The CW’s Jane the Virgin.
Rodriguez’s Jane the Virgin co-star Jamie Camil picked up his second nod in the Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series category for his role as Rodriguez’s onscreen father. He’ll face off against Mel Rodriguez, who received his nomination for his performance on HBO’s Getting On.
In the film section, Alejandro González Iñárritu earned a nod in the Director category for helming the western drama/thriller The Revenant, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy. The Mexican filmmaker was nominated last year in the same category for directing Birdman. He lost in that category, but took home the Screenplay trophy for the same film.
Meanwhile, the film’s lenser Emmanuel Lubezki received a nom in the Cinematography category. He’s the two-time reigning champion in the category after winning for his work on Gravity in 2014 and Birdman in 2015. He also won the prize in 2012 for The Tree of Life.
Paco Delgado picked up a nod in the Costume Design category for his work on The Danish Girl. He previously was nominated in 2013 for his work on Les Misérables.
Hosted by T.J. Miller, the awards show will be held on January 17 at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica. It will air simultaneously on A&E, Lifetime and LMN.

FX has made the entire fourth season of the 47-year-old Mexican-American actor/comedian’s Emmy-winning series Louie available for streaming via the FX Now app starting today through the premiere of Season 5 on April 9.
Last season featured the episode “So Did The Fat Lady,” for which Louis C.K. earned a WGA Award and his second writing Emmy for the show.

Another awards ceremony, another big prize for Alfonso Cuarón…
The 52-year-old Mexican filmmaker, who already has a Golden Globe, DGA Award and Critics’ Choice Movie Award, has picked up his latest Best Director trophy this awards season at the 2014 BAFTA Awards.
Cuarón, the heavy favorite to win Best Director at this year’s Oscars, won the award for helming his critically acclaimed 3D space disaster thriller Gravity.
But that wasn’t Cuarón’s only trophy of the night…
The filmmaker, one of Entertainment Weekly’s Entertainers of the Year in 2013, also took home the prize for Best British Film as one of Gravity’s producers.
Meanwhile, Cuarón’s cinematographer-of-choice Emmanuel Lubezki took home the BAFTA Award for Best Cinematography for the Mexican Oscar nominee’s work on Gravity, his sixth career BAFTA Award.
In all, Gravity won an impressive six awards — just one award shy of The Artist in 2012 and The King’s Speech.
The British Academy Film Awards are presented in an annual award show hosted by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA).

The critically acclaimed documentary about Mexican American musician Sixto Rodriguez, who has been dubbed “the greatest rock star who never was,” earned the film’s helmer Malik Bendjelloul his first DGA Award from the Directors Guild of America.
Bendjelloul picked up the award during the 65th Annual Directors Guild of America Awards dinner on Saturday night at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland in Los Angeles.
It’s the latest award for Searching for Sugar Man, which is looking like an Oscar front-runner in its category. The film had previously won a Critics Choice award and Producers Guild of America award.
In addition, the film has resulted in what’s shaping up to be the comeback of the century, with the film’s subject Rodriguez now in high demand. He’s slated to perform at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and other music festivals this year.
The Critics have spoken… And, they’ve heralded Claudio Miranda…
The Chilean filmmaker picked up the first Critics’ Choice Award of his career, in his first try, from the Broadcast Film Critics Association on Thursday night.
Miranda won the Best Cinematography trophy for his work on Ang Lee’s Life of Pi.
It’s the latest win for Miranda, who was just nominated for an Academy Award for serving as the Director of Photography on the critically acclaimed Life of Pi. He’d previously won a Satellite Award and a trophy from the New York Film Critics Online.
Meanwhile, Searching for Sugar Man – about Mexican American singer Rodriguez – picked up its latest Best Documentary Feature trophy.
