First Trailer Released for Judd Apatow’s Lockdown Comedy “The Bubble,” Starring Pedro Pascal

Pedro Pascal’s latest project is bubbling up

The first trailer has been released for Judd Apatow’s lockdown comedy The Bubble, starring a stacked cast that includes the 46-year-old Chilean actor.

Pedro Pascal, The BubbleThe film looks at the high stakes and high jinks involved in filming a studio tentpole film during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The scenario unfolds somewhere in England during the dark days of October 2020 as a group of actors is quarantining at a posh hotel while shooting Cliff Beasts 6the latest in an action franchise about people battling dinosaurs. And it’s no walk in the Jurassic Park.

“Thank you for wearing proper PPE,” the ensemble is told. “Physical touch is, of course, off the table, so I would recommend making sweet eyes at each other.”

But there’s an incentive to keep the cameras rolling: “We are one of two movies in production right now — if we fail, the studio’s going to go down.”

So the show goes on, and we get the lighter side of greenscreen acting.

Karen Gillan, Iris Apatow, Fred Armisen, Maria Bakalova, David Duchovny, Keegan-Michael Key, Leslie Mann, Kate McKinnon and Peter Serafinowicz also star in the Apatow-directed film.

Apatow wrote the script with Pam Brady.

The film-within-a-film will hit Netflix in the spring.

The 39-year-old Puerto Rican television personality, author, businesswoman, producer and actress has been cast in a new untitled Netflix comedy starring Jonah Hill, with Kenya Barris directing.

Anthony is among a list of new cast additions that includes Travis Bennett, Andrea Savage, Rhea Perlman and Deon Cole.

They join an ensemble that already includes Lauren London, Eddie Murphy, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Sam Jay, Molly Gordon, David Duchovny and Nia Long.

The film follows a new couple (Hill and London) and their families, who find themselves examining modern love and family dynamics amidst clashing cultures, societal expectations and generational differences.

Anthony’s previous credits include Two Can Play That GameYou Got Served, Think Like a Man and Think Like a Man 2.

The 45-year-old Chilean actor has been cast in Judd Apatow’s next comedy The Bubble for Netflix.

Pascal, who recently starred in Wonder Woman 1984, joins a cast that includes Karen GillanIris Apatow, Fred ArmisenMaria Bakalova, David Duchovny, Keegan-Michael Key, Leslie Mann and Peter Serafinowicz.

Apatow will direct and produce the film, as well as co-write the script with Pam Brady.

The film follows a group of actors and actresses stuck inside a pandemic bubble at a hotel attempting to complete a film. The film couldn’t be more timely as more and more productions are ramping back up even as COVID-19 remains in full effect around the world.

Once Netflix boarded the project, it quickly was fast-tracked with a plan to start shooting at the top of 2021. The plan also always has been to deliver a cast that rivals previous A-list ensembles like those for The Disaster Artist and Knives Out.

Ferreira to Star in David Lynch’s “Twin Peaks” Reboot on Showtime

The 23-year-old part-Brazilian American singer-songwriter, model, and actress will star in David Lynch’s Twin Peaks, the Showtime follow-up to his cult ABC series.

The new season, which mixes original and new cast members, has completed filming.

The new installment picks up twenty-five years after the events in the original series that kicked off with the inhabitants of a quaint northwestern town of Twin Peaks being shocked by the murder of homecoming queen Laura Palmer, played by Sheryl Lee who is back for the reboot, joining the only previously confirmed actor, star Kyle MacLachlan, reprising his role as FBI Agent Dale Cooper.

Other actors from the original who are back include Sheryl Lee, Sherilyn Fenn, Mädchen Amick, David Duchovny, Michael Horse, Dana AshbrookRay Wise, Grace ZabriskiePeggy Lipton, Everett McGill and David Lynch.

In addition to Ferreira, other Latino actors in the 217-member cast include returning star Miguel Ferrer, Ana de la Reguera, Xolo Maridueña, Vincent Castellanos, Juan Carlos Cantu, Johnny Chavez and Lisa Coronado.

Written and produced by series creators and executive producers Lynch and Mark Frost, the upcoming Twin Peaks, directed entirely by Lynch, will premiere on Showtime in 2017.

 

Martinez Lands Multi-Episode Role on NBC’s Upcoming Series “Aquarius”

The Latino actor will appear in a multi-episode arc opposite David Duchovny in NBC‘s upcoming series Aquarius.

The gritty 1960s drama focuses on a cop (Duchovny) who goes undercover to track Charles Manson and the Manson Family before their infamous murder spree.

Martinez, who has appeared on Low Winter Sun and Breaking Bad, will portray Ruben Salazar, a former war correspondent and a reporter with the Los Angeles Times who is threatening to expose the true identity of an LAPD detective.

Martinez plays a supporting character in the upcoming Liam Neeson-helmed feature Run All Night.

His other credits include television appearances on Intelligence, Elementary, Unforgettable and Beauty and the Beast.

Meanwhile, Juan Carlos began his own filmmaking career as a producer in 2009, blindly founding the company Producciones along with actor Hector Jimenez.

In addition to Cellmates and Goats, which features David Duchovny and Vera Farmiga, the company will screen several other productions this year, including Hidden Moon and Todo un hombre, starring Aaron Diaz.
