Camila Banus to Serve as Presenter at This Year’s Daytime Emmy Awards

The 31-year-old Spanish and Cuban American actress and Days of Our Lives star is among the stars set to present at the Daytime Emmy Awards on June 24.

Camila BanusBanus, who received a Daytime Emmy nod in 2015 for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Gabi Hernandez, and her Days of Our Lives co-star Galen Gering will serve as presenters during the ceremony.

Natalie Morales and her The Talk co-host Jerry O’Connell will also present an award during the ceremony.

Hosted by Kevin Frazier and Nischelle Turner from Entertainment Tonight, the 49th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will also see many other notable personalities present, including: Drew BarrymoreTamron Hall; Deborah Norville from Inside Edition; Deidre Hall and James Reynolds from Beyond Salem; Krista Allen, Lawrence Saint-Victor and Tanner Novlan from The Bold and the Beautiful; Tanisha Harper, Cameron Mathison and Laura Wright from General Hospital; and Sean Dominic, Christian Le Blanc and Tracey Bregman from The Young and the Restless.

In addition, Suzanne Rogers will present the lifetime achievement award to John Aniston during the ceremony.

The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences also announced the presenters for the upcoming Creative Arts & Lifestyle Awards, which will stream on Friday. Presenters for the ceremony include: Michael and Bianca Alexander from Conscious Living, Judge Frank Caprio from Caught in Providence, Daym Drops from Fresh, Fried & Crispy, Samantha Brown from Samantha Brown’s Places to Love, Sophia Roe from Counter Space, Tina Knowles-Lawson from Talks With Mama Tina, Jennifer Gareis from The Bold and the Beautiful, Raven Bowens from Days of our Lives and Beyond Salem, Tajh Bellow from General Hospital and Kate Linder from The Young and the Restless.

The 49th Annual Creative Arts & Lifestyle Awards will stream live on watch.TheEmmys.tv, and via Emmys apps on platforms like Xbox, iOS, tvOS, Android, FireTV and Roku.

The ceremony begins 6:00 pm PT/9 pm ET on Friday.

The Daytime Emmy Awards will air live on June 24 at 9:00 pm ET on the East Coast, and tape delayed on the West Coast at 9:00 pm PT. The ceremony will air on CBS and stream on Paramount+.

Zoe Saldana to Receive “Star of the Year” Award at CinemaCon

The 43-year-old Puerto Rican and Dominican American actress will be among the honorees at CinemaCon’s Big Screen Achievement Awards.

The Big Screen Achievement Awards will be held at CinemaCon headquarters at Caesars Palace on April 28 and will be hosted by Entertainment Tonight veteran Kevin Frazier from inside the Colosseum. The awards are designed to shine a spotlight on the big-screen achievements of actors and filmmakers.

Other honorees include Robert De NiroBilly Eichner, Abby Ryder Fortson and Glen Powell.

Additional honors are expected to be announced.

“CinemaCon may be the only time during the course of the year where the exhibition community gets to thank the creative world for providing the very best in the world of movies,” said Neuhauser. “Our roster of honorees this year represents an incredible scope of talent and to have one of the most legendary actors in the history of film being honored, that of course being Robert De Niro — well, it really doesn’t get better than that.”

The news comes just days before the big event that sees Hollywood studios and cinema operators gather in Las Vegas for the annual convention hosted by the National Association of Theatre Owners.

This year, all five major Hollywood studios plus Lionsgate and Neon will be touting their upcoming slates during their time on stage inside the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

CinemaCon, expected to draw upward of 6,000 guests, runs April 25-28. Partners this year include both the International Cinema Technology Association and National Association of Concessionaires.

Cardi B to Reprise “F9” Role in Final Fast & Furious Film

The 28-year-old half-Dominican American rap superstar will be reprising the role of her F9 character, Leysa, in the tenth film of the franchise, according to Fast & Furious franchise star and producer Vin Diesel.

“We are very much excited to evolve her character and to expand it to the finale,” said the action star to Entertainment Tonight. “She made it just in time. She came in Fast 9 just in time.”

Director Justin Lin also spoke to ET about how seamlessly the rapper fit in on the set of the upcoming film, F9: The Fast Saga, which opens on Friday (June 25).

“She showed up, and within a minute, she’s part of the family, right?” he told the outlet. “And I love how when I got together with her, her and Vin were talking about the character because she’s actually really embedded into the overall universe. She’s been around for a long time and this is just the first time we are seeing her, so I’m really excited to explore that character of her.”

The rapper herself also dished on the role and how it came to be in a video shared by the film franchise on June 15.

“Vin Diesel reached out and he was talking about a role, and I’m like, ‘It’s freakin’ Fast & Furious. Get me there! Put me on a plane!'” she exclaimed. “I like the fact that it’s like I’m representing such a powerful, strong woman. She’s just that b—-!”

She also had high praise for the man who made her part of the Fast & Furious family. “Being around Vin, he’s just so nice, so dope,” she shared of the actor. “He makes me feel so comfortable.”

In addition to her debut in the film franchise this weekend, Cardi B is up for trophies in three categories at the 2021 BET Awards on Sunday (June 27). She’s vying for best collaboration (“WAP” featuring Megan Thee Stallion), best female hip-hop artist, and video of the year, in which her visuals for “Up” and “WAP” both received nods.

The 29-year-old Mexican American drag performer and former RuPaul’s Drag Race contestant will team up with some of her fellow queens and Broadway celebrities to get out the vote for November’s presidential election.

Valentina and divas from the drag world and icons of the stage will come together for Divas For Democracy: United We Slay, a one-night-only variety show extravaganza promoting voter participation and key issues relating to the LGBTQIA+ community in the upcoming 2020 election.

Presented by the nonprofit voter engagement organization Drag Out the Vote and hosted by RuPaul’s Drag Race star Nina West and Entertainment Tonights Keltie KnightDivas for Democracy: United We Slay features scores of talent who’ll sing and lip-synch through dazzling performances of theater classics and pop songs.

Special segments will highlight LGBTQIA+ activists in a nonpartisan effort to shine a light on community participation in the political process, including celebrity appearances by Tony winner Cyndi LauperDrag Race panelist Michelle VisageHarvey Fierstein, James Monroe IglehartBianca Del RioShangelaCheyenne Jackson, Mila Jam, and Oscar-winning actress Allison Janney.

In addition to Valentina, other drag superstars slated to perform during the broadcast include AlaskaJinkx MonsoonJujubeePeppermintCynthia Lee FontaineShuga CainHoney Davenport, and Drag Out the Vote’s national co-chairs Brita Filter, Marti Gould Cummings, and Pixie Aventura.

James, Beth Leavel and Annaleigh Ashford. The presentation will be directed by Josh Rhodes and Lee Wilkins, whose joint careers include work choreographing Rodgers and Hammerstein’s CinderellaFirst DateIt Shoulda Been You, and Bright Star on Broadway. Tony winner Stephen Oremus will serve as music supervisor.

“One in five LGBTQIA+ people is not registered to vote, and 100 million people did not vote in the 2016 election. We must fix this,” said Drag Out the Vote founder Jackie Huba in a press statement. “We are excited to bring together the worlds of Broadway and drag to inspire voters to sashay their way to the polls or their mailboxes.”

UMC & RLJE Films to Release Rocsi Diaz’s Indie Drama “Always and Forever” in November

UMC and RLJE Films are partnering for the release of the indie drama Always and Forever, starring the 38-year-old Honduran and Chilean actress and television/radio personality.

In addition to Diaz, the film also stars Lauren London, Loretta Devine, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Robbie Jones and Wood Harris.

Directed by Chris Stokes, the film will get a day and date release in limited theaters and on VOD platforms on November 20 then UMC will exclusively stream the film beginning in early 2021.

The plot follows Nicole (Addai-Robinson), who seems to have it all – a great job, an adoring husband (Jones) – but her perfect world is shattered when her childhood friend is suddenly found dead. The tragedy reunites Nicole with her best friends from years ago, but they each soon find themselves in danger, targets of a deranged stalker. As the secrets of their past come back to haunt them, they’ll soon realize that a deadly nightmare is just beginning for those who long ago pledged their loyalty to each other, “always and forever.”

Patrick Johnson Jr., Marques Houston, Jerome Jones, Jarrell Houston, Shondrella Avery, and Alana Brown produced the film in association with Footage Films and Novus Content.

“Last year, UMC began testing the waters of the theatrical game with the release of Master P’s I Got the Hook-Up 2 to great success,” said Brett Dismuke, Chief Content Officer of UMC. “While a lot has changed in our industry over the last few months of the pandemic, we’re excited to continue developing our film distribution efforts with Always and Forever – a star-studded, jaw-dropping thriller that is sure to have audiences at the edge of their seats.”

Diaz, who was a correspondent on Entertainment Tonight during 2012–2014, previously appeared in the films Gangs of Roses 2: Next Generation, Soul Ties and The Last Letter.

J Balvin Releases New Sean Paul Collaboration, “Contra La Pared”

The 33-year-old Colombian reggaeton singer has joined voices with Sean Paul for their latest collaboration, “Contra La Pared.”

J Balvin released the infectious new tune on Thursday, with the music video released a day later.

In a behind-the-scenes clip for the upcoming video posted by Entertainment Tonight, the duo find themselves in at Utah’s Lake Powell among cars, helicopters and a slew of dancers.

“Working with artists like Sean and J Balvin, these are the kind of artists that I like to work with because they actually do things that are different and they are not afraid to take planes, trains and automobiles to get out to a place like this,” director Andy Hines says in the behind-the-scenes. “[This] is a location where no one has really shot here before. I’m super excited already and I can’t wait to share.”

The duo collaborated previously on Major Lazer’s 2017 track “Buscando Huellas.” 

Diaz to Serve as Anchor/Correspendent of HLN’s “The Daily Share”

The 31-year-old Honduran/Chilean television personality has joined HLN as an L.A. based anchor/correspondent for its The Daily Share.

Diaz will primarily cover entertainment, lifestyle, fashion and sports. She’ll also do red carpet coverage of events for HLN.

The Daily Share (airing weekdays, noon-5 p.m. ET) is hosted by Ali Nejad and Yasmin Vossoughian and aggregates social media news and lifestyle content of the day, giving viewers a digest of what people are watching, searching, playing, sharing, shopping and creating.

HLN, the CNN Worldwide network reaching more than 100 million U.S. households, rebranded itself in 2014 as the first all-screens home for social news and lifestyle content. HLN rips its headlines from social media and interacts with consumers.

Diaz departed Entertainment Tonight this month after a two-year stint as weekend co-host and daily correspondent.

“As both Rocsi and ET have grown and evolved over the years, she has elected to pursue hosting opportunities that are available to her at the start of next year,” a rep for the program said last September in a statement to Deadline. According to sources, the evolution involved more emphasis on news content at ET.

Diaz segued to ET after seven years with BET, where she co-anchored its flagship television show, 106 & Park and hosted the syndicated radio show 106 & Park Weekend Countdown along with her Rocsi On The Radio, heard in over 20 major national markets.

Vergara wore a black strapless Zac Posen gown with a sweetheart bodice and a full skirt that envelopes the carpet. She finished off her look with a turquoise necklace and soft locks.

Celebrity hairstylist Harry Josh wanted to give the star a classically simple yet chic blowout. “We wanted to keep Sofia looking modern and fresh and a chic, luxurious blowout lent her that,” he said.

del Castillo to Participate in Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race for Charity

The 40-year-old Mexican actress and former telenovela star will take part in a charity auto race next month to benefit children battling serious illnesses, according to organizers.

del Castillo, who will be joined by fellow Latino luminaries Cristian Castro and Michelle Rodriguez, will climb inside a 200-horsepower Scion FR-S sports car during the 10-lap Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race, which will take place in downtown Long Beach, California.

The event, which is being held on April 20, will raise funds for the Racing for Kids organization, a national program that benefits children’s hospitals throughout the United States.

Ex-marine and Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer; journalist and former Entertainment Tonight host Mark Steines and the winner of the previous edition of the race, comedian Adam Carolla, will also be among the competing celebrities, who will undergo intense training sessions prior to the race.

The professional drivers who’ll compete against the celebrities include freestyle motocross champion and star of the MTV program Nitro Circus, Andy Bell; and National Hot Rod Association driver Melanie Troxel.

The celebrities receive a 30-second head start against the professionals.

The funds raised will be donated to organizations like the Children’s Hospital of Orange County and Miller Children’s Hospital Long Beach.

Since 1991, Toyota has donated more than $2 million to the Racing for Kids organization.
