Morena Baccarin Joins XYZ Films’ Untitled Scripted Documentary about John DeLorean

Morena Baccarin is revving up for a new project…

The 38-year-old Brazilian actress has joined XYZ Films’ untitled scripted documentary about John DeLorean.

Baccarin will join the documentary as Christina Ferrare, the wife of the titular automaker played by Alec Baldwin.

The film will document DeLorean’s rise to stardom, as well as his shocking fall from grace. It will merge scripted narrative scenes with real-life interviews with colleagues, employees, lawyers, friends and family who knew DeLorean best.

Don Argott and Sheena M. Joyce will direct, while Tamir Ardon will produce alongside XYZ Films and 9.14 Pictures.

Sundance Selects is distributing the film domestically. The film is slated for a 2018 release.

Baccarin can next be seen reprising her role as Vanessa in Deadpool 2 and currently stars in Fox’s Gotham.

Philip Hernandez Lands Recurring Role on Hulu’s Original Drama Series “The Path”

Philip Hernandez has found a new path…

The Latino actor has been cast in a recurring role on Hulu’s original drama series The Path for Season 3.

The Path, from Universal Cable Productions and Jason Katims’ True Jack Prods, was created by Jessica Goldberg.

The series examines a family at the center of a controversial movement struggling with relationships, marriage and power, with each episode taking an in-depth look at what it means to choose between the life we live and the life we want.

Hernandez will play Dr. Costa, a sexy South American ocular cancer doctor, a devout follower of Lilith’s (Sarita Choudhury) who gives her medical counsel.

Hernandez is known for his role as inept medical examiner Dr. Guerra from the first season of Gotham. He most recently guest-starred on Blue Bloods and The Blacklist.

Fox Renews Morena Baccarin’s “Gotham” for Fourth Season

Morena Baccarin is staying in Gotham for another year…

Fox has renewed its flagship drama Gotham, starring the 37-year-old Brazilian American actress, for a fourth season.

Based on characters from DC Comics, the Batman prequel is executive produced by Bruno Heller, who developed the series, Danny Cannon and John Stephens.

In addition to Baccarin, who portrays Leslie Thompkins, the series’ large ensemble cast includes Ben McKenzie, Donal Logue, David Mazouz, Sean Pertwee, Robin Lord Taylor, Erin Richards, Camren Bicondova, Cory Michael Smith, Jessica Lucas, Chris Chalk, Drew Powell, Maggie Geha, Benedict Samuel and Michael Chiklis.

Trailer Released for Colindrez’s “I Love Dick”

Roberta Colindrez is celebrating an Amazon project…

The streaming service has released the teaser trailer for I Love Dick, featuring the Mexican actress.

After a premiere at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, the latest Amazon series from the Transparent creator Jill Soloway launches on May 12 – and, as the trailer reveals, there’s a slew of sex, feminist art criticism, Lone State lust, and a lot of obsession

Described as a “soapy delicious psycho-sexual comedy set in an art town” by Soloway, I Love Dick is based on the 1997 novel by Chris Kraus.

In addition to Colindrez, who portrays Devon, the series also stars Kathryn Hahn, Kevin Bacon, India Menuez, Sebastian Cole and Lilly Mojekwu.

Colindrez, who stars in the Broadway musical Fun Home, has previously appeared on television in Girls, Boardwalk Empire and Gotham.

Ybarra to Star in ABC’s Drama Pilot “The Gospel of Kevin”

Dustin Ybarra is preachin’ new heights…

The Latino stand up comedian and actor has been cast as a series regular on ABC’s The Gospel of Kevin, an hourlong drama pilot from ABC Studios.

The project is a light one-hour about Kevin (Jason Ritter), a down-on-his-luck man who is tasked by God with a mission to save the world. Kevin is a cluelessly self-serving jerk who’s on a dangerous path to despair. After a failed suicide attempt, he’s going home to stay with his widowed twin sister and niece for a time, only to be met with a crisis in the person Yvette (Cristela Alonso).

Ybarra, who has had a recurring role on ABC’s The Goldbergs, will play Tyler.

Ybarra’s other credits include recurring roles on Fox’s Gotham and CBS’ Battle Creek. He’s repped by ATA Management, CAA and Hanson.

Guevara to Star in Syfy Pilot “Happy!”

Zabryna Guevara is doing a Happy dance…

The 45-year-old Latina actress has signed on as series regular opposite Chris Meloni and Lili Mirojnick in Syfy pilot Happy!, based on Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson’s graphic novel.

Written by Morrison and Brian Taylor who also directs, Happy! hails from Universal Cable Productions.

It follows Nick Sax (Meloni) – an intoxicated, corrupt ex-cop turned hit man — who is adrift in a world of casual murder, soulless sex and betrayal. After a hit gone wrong, his inebriated life is forever changed by a tiny, relentlessly positive, imaginary blue winged horse.

Guevara is Amanda Hansen, a single mom facing every mother’s worst nightmare; the disappearance of her young daughter. Facing an official cover-up, and dragged into a cruel conspiracy, Amanda must overcome a history of depression and anxiety to find within herself the strength and resources she’ll need to go up against a seemingly unbeatable foe.

Guevara starred as Sarah Essen on Gotham and recurs on Baz Lurhmann’s The Get Down.

Ortiz to Guest Star on TBS’ “The Guest Book”

John Ortiz has signed in…

The 48-year-old Puerto Rican actor will guest star on TBS’ The Guest Book, the new 10-episode comedy series from My Name Is Earl’s Greg Garcia.

The Guest Book emerged from Garcia’s habit of writing fictitious stories in the guest books of various rental cabins in an effort to freak out the next renters. Now he is bringing some of those stories to life on screen centering on the vacation home Froggy Cottage and its visitors. While the house and cast of characters living in this small mountain town remain the same, each episode will feature a different set of vacationing guests.

The anthology-style show, written by Garcia and executive produced by him and Alix Jaffe, will premiere in August.

It will star Kellie Martin (Army Wives), Charlie Robinson (Hart of Dixie), Aloma Wright (Suits), Carly Jibson (Broadway’s Hairspray), Lou Wilson (Tween Fest), Garret Dillahunt (The Mindy Project), Laura Bell Bundy (Scream Queens) and Eddie Steeples (My Name Is Earl).

Martin will play Officer Kimberly Leahy, who serves on the police force in the small mountain town of Mount Trace. Robinson is Wilfrid, an easygoing, friendly gentleman who manages a group of mountain rental cottages with his wife, Emma, played by recurring guest star Wright. Jibson is Vivian, a tough, strong-willed woman who runs a bikini bar called Chubbys with her stepson Frank, played by Wilson.

In addition to Ortiz, other guest stars include Danny Pudi (Community), Jenna Fischer (The Office), Tommy Dewey (The Mindy Project), Lauren Lapkus (Orange Is the new Black), Michaela Watkins (Casual), Mary Lynn Rajskub (24), Michael Rapaport (Sully), Kate Micucci (Raising Hope), Jaime Pressly (My Name Is Earl), Stockard Channing (The Good Wife), Andrew J. Cardenas Cast as a Series Regular on FX’s “Snowfall” Pilot from John Singleton

Juan Javier Cardenas is bracing for a White season…

The Latino actor has been cast as a series regular on FX’s Snowfall, the 1980s cocaine-epidemic drama pilot from John Singleton.

Co-created and executive produced by Boyz N The Hood director Singleton and Erick Amadio, and directed by El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, the pilot has been undergoing a revamp.

In addition to Cardenas, who has made appearances on The Good Wife, Blue Bloods and Law & Order SVU, new additions to the cast include Carter Hudson, Angela Lewis and Filipe Valle Costa.

Hudson will play Teddy McDonald, a CIA operative banished to the Los Angeles office after a tragic misstep in the past. When he sees an opportunity to reverse his fortunes, Teddy risks everything to get his life back on track. Lewis will portray Louise Saint, Franklin’s (Damson Idris) party girl aunt.

Cardenas will play Alejandro Usteves, a calculating rebel from the Nicaraguan Contras movement who is determined to keep his revolution alive by any means necessary.

Costa will play Pedro, the cocky heir apparent of a Mexican crime family that sells marijuana throughout Los Angeles.

Cardenas’ other TV credits include Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, NCIS: Los Angeles and Scandal.

Costa’s credits include Blue Bloods, Gotham, and the feature film Hamlet.

Colindrez to Star in the Amazon Comedy Pilot “I Love Dick”

Roberta Colindrez has found a new Love…

The Mexican actress has joined the cast of Jill Soloway’s Amazon comedy pilot I Love Dick.

Written by playwright Sarah Gubbins and based on Chris Kraus’ influential and somewhat controversial 1997 novel, I Love Dick is set in a colorful academic community in Marfa, Texas.

It centers on a struggling married couple, Chris and Sylvere, and their mutual obsession with Dick, an off-putting but charismatic professor.

Told in Rashomon-style shifts of POV, I Love Dick charts the unraveling of a marriage, the awakening of an artist and the reluctant deification of a man named Dick.

Colindrez will play Devon, a butch cowboy and amateur playwright who works as a groundskeeper on the property Chris and Sylvere are renting in Marfa. She’s instantly drawn to Chris, but she’s waiting for the couple to come to some sort of agreement before she makes her move.

Colindrez, who had a recurring role on HBO’s Girls, currently stars in the Tony-winning Broadway musical Fun Home. Her other credits include appearances on Boardwalk Empire and Gotham.

She’ll next be seen in the upcoming season of USA’s Mr. Robot.

Fox Renews Baccarin’s Batman Origin Series “Gotham” for a Third Season

Morena Baccarin isn’t leaving Gotham just yet…

Fox has ordered a third season of the Batman origin story Gotham, based on the characters from DC Comics and starring the 36-year-old Brazilian-American actress.

From writer/executive producer Bruno Heller, Gotham follows one cop’s rise through a dangerously corrupt city teetering between good and evil, and chronicles the birth of one of the most popular super heroes of our time.

Baccarin, who recently earned her first-ever MTV Movie Awards nominations for her role in another comic-based project, Deadpool, portrays Leslie Thompkins in a starring role.

While ratings figures have been down versus the show’s first season, Gotham has been doing a solid business in multi-platform viewing, averaging 9 million total viewers in Season 2, and has done well with male demos.

The series ranks among this season’s Top 10 entertainment programs overall among Men 18-49, and is among the season’s Top 5 broadcast dramas among Men 18-49 and Men 18-34.

“It takes a very special team to tell the tales of Gotham. For the past two seasons, Bruno, Danny and John have masterfully honored the mythology of Gotham and brought it to life with depth, emotion and memorable high drama,” said David Madden, Fox’s Entertainment president.

The next episode on March 21 will kick off the guest arc of Paul Reubens as Elijah Van Dahl, Penguin’s (Robin Lord Taylor) father.
