AMC to Premiere “The Walking Dead: Dead City,” Starring Trey Santiago-Hudson, This Sunday

Trey Santiago-Hudson is ready to fight the dead…

The part-Puerto Rican actor is starring in The Walking Dead: Dead City, which premieres this Sunday June 18 at 10:00 pm ET.

The Walking Dead: Dead City follows the popular Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) characters traveling into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan, long ago cut off from the mainland. The crumbling city is filled with the dead and denizens who have made New York City their own world full of anarchy, danger, beauty and terror.

In addition to Cohan, Morgan and Santiago-Hudson, the series also stars Gaius Charles and Željko Ivanek, along with Jonathan Higginbotham, Mahina Napoleon and Charlie Solis.

Eli Jorné, who has been a writer and co-executive producer on The Walking Dead for multiple seasons serves as showrunner and executive producer on the series, which is overseen by Scott M. Gimple, chief content officer of The Walking Dead Universe.

“It’s The Walking Dead like we’ve never seen it before. We haven’t really lived in a city like this.” Jorné said at a WonderCon event earlier this year. “It’s New York; there’s skyscrapers up to the sky and a million and a half walkers. And for characters like Maggie and Negan, who’ve been running through the woods for a long time, it’s just a whole new world that’s just extremely claustrophobic, scary, and also, as you’ll discover, has pockets of survivors, you’ll get to see all the strange new ways they live in the apocalypse, it’s definitely like nothing you’ve seen before.”

Dead City is the fourth spinoff in the Walking Dead universe following Fear The Walking Dead, World Beyond and Tales of the Walking Dead and is the first sequel to the original Walking Dead series.

The series will air on AMC and AMC+. Subsequent episodes will move to the 9:00 pm ET timeslot.

AMC Releases Trailer for Eighth & Final Season of Rubén Blades’ “Fear the Walking Dead”

It’s Rubén Blades’ final moments of Fear

AMC has released the trailer for the eighth and final season of Fear the Walking Dead, starring the 74-year-old Panamanian musician, singer, composer, actor, activist and politician.

Ruben BladesThe series is a prequel to AMC’s The Walking Dead.

To help promote the upcoming season, co-showrunner Ian Goldberg and executive producer Michael Satrazemis — together with cast members Kim Dickens, Jenna Elfman and Christine Evangelista –appeared at WonderCon this weekend.

The biggest scoop about season 8 was revealed by Goldberg, who said it will include a seven-year time jump.

Goldberg reflected on the season ending and enduring fanbase for the series. “It feels surreal; it’s amazing to be making season 8 of this show, and only because, at this point, everybody knows that this will be our final season,” Goldberg said. “Thank you so much; you are the best fans in the world, we made this show for you, and we’re so honored that we’ve been able to tell these stories for such a long time.”

The series’ eighth and final season will roll out in two six-episode parts, the first of which begins May 14 at 9 ET/PT on AMC and AMC+ and return for its final six episodes later this year.

Blades portrays Daniel Salazar on the series.

Goldberg also teased what fans can expect in the coming episodes. “We’re going to see a lot of life inside of PADRE, which we’ve been teasing since season 7. We really wanted to lean into what life looks like inside this place we’ve heard so much about. We’re going to do it in a conceptual way [by] jumping ahead seven years. So when we find our characters, a lot of time has passed, and we see how they’ve navigated their new realities. It’s a whole new ball game. It doesn’t get any easier for them.”

The eighth season begins after the conclusion of Season 7, when Morgan’s (Lennie James) and Madison’s (Dickens) hopes to rescue Mo from Padre did not go as planned. Now, Morgan, Madison and the others who were brought to the island have to under Padre’s cynical rule. With the characters demoralized and dejected, the task of reigniting belief in a better world rests with the person Morgan and Madison set out to rescue in the first place — Morgan’s daughter, Mo.

AMC also released pictures from the upcoming season.

Lesley-Ann Brandt to Appear on Upcoming “The Walking Dead” Spinoff

Lesley-Ann Brandt has landed a walking challenge…

The 41-year-old part-Spanish actress and former Lucifer star has landed a key recurring role in upcoming The Walking Dead spinoff starring Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira as iconic TWD characters Rick Grimes and Michonne.

Lesley-Ann BrandtBrandt will play Pearl Thorne in the six-episode series. Character details are being kept under wraps.

Production recently got underway in New Jersey.

The latest TWD spinoff will wrap up the story arcs for the Rick Grimes and Michonne characters.

The synopsis: The series presents an epic love story of two characters changed by a changed world. Kept apart by distance. By an unstoppable power. By the ghosts of who they were. Rick and Michonne are thrown into another world, built on a war against the dead… And ultimately, a war against the living. Can they find each other and who they were in a place and situation unlike any they’ve ever known before? Are they enemies? Lovers? Victims? Victors? Without each other, are they even alive — or will they find that they, too, are the Walking Dead?

Lincoln’s character is a sheriff who led the show’s pack of survivors for its first nine seasons. He’s presumed dead by members of his clan as of Season 9’s fifth episode, “What Comes After,” after blowing up a bridge with dynamite to stave off hordes of walkers. While he subsequently disappears, we eventually learn that he has, in fact, survived, as he helicopters off with Anne (Pollyanna McIntosh) and her allies.

Gurira’s Michonne is a katana-wielding survivor first introduced in Season 3 who joins Grimes’ group and eventually falls for him, becoming a surrogate mother to his kids. The character last appeared in Season 10, setting off to find Rick after learning he may have survived his near-fatal Season 9 injury.

Both characters returned for the final moments of the series finale, each in separate places and apparently separate times. They were connected through images of campfires and the sounds of their voices reciting words they were each writing in a journal.

The spinoff is slated to premiere in 2024.

Brandt played Maze, a demon from Hell and loveable anti-hero, on all six seasons of Netlix’s Lucifer. She’s also known for her role as Naevia in Steven S. DeKnight’s Spartacus franchise.
