The 38-year-old part-Spanish actress, who plays Maze on Netflix’s drama series Lucifer, has signed with ICM Partners

The Cape Town, South Africa-born actress began her career in New Zealand after her family immigrated there when she was in her teens. Her breakout role came in playing Naevia in Starz’s Spartacus: Gods of the Arena.

Brandt’s other television credits include GothamSingle LadiesThe LibrariansLegend of the Seeker and Memphis Beat. She also co-starred in the 2013 surf film Drift.

Brandt’s Lucifer will return for a fifth season on August 21 on Netflix.

Soledad O’Brien Signs with ICM Partners

Soledad O’Brien has new representation…

ICM Partners has signed the 52-year-old half-Cuban American broadcast journalist and her production company Starfish Media Group.

O’Brien, a former Weekend Today co-anchor, produces and anchors Hearst Television’s weekend political show Matter of Fact with Soledad O’Brien. She’salso a correspondent on HBO’s Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel.

She also hosted and produced this year’s O.J. Simpson: The Lost Confession and Who Shot Biggie and Tupac? for Fox along with Oxygen’s Mysteries and Scandals.

O’Brien is President and CEO of Starfish Media Group, a multiplatform media production company dedicated to telling empowering and authentic stories on a range of social issues. Starfish Media produces short and feature-length documentaries and journalistic reports, including several projects with HBO, Hearst and Oxygen, among many others.

Her résumé also include working as an anchor, contributor and/or contributor for all of the Big 4 networks, along with PBS News Hourand CNN. She anchored morning news shows for the latter and produced documentaries including the Black in Americaand “Latino in America” series. She has three News and Documentary Emmys to her credit and Peabody Awardsfor covering Hurricane Katrinaand theBPoil spill. She also has authored a pair of books and serves on the board of directors of the Foundation for the National Archivesas well as the board of trustees for the Rand Corporation.

Orci Signs with ICM Partners

Roberto Orci has a new Partner in crime…

The 43-year-old Mexican film and television writer, producer and director has signed with talent and literary agency ICM Partners.

Orci’s writing and producing credits include some of Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters, including credits two Transformers and Star Trek films and Mission: Impossible III.

Orci, longtime partner of Alex Kurtzman, is also an Emmy-winning television writer-producer, who co-created Fox’s Fringe and Sleepy Hollow. He has also been a writer-producer on Alias and Hawaii Five-O, among other shows.

Orci had previously been at Creative Artists Agency, and he continues to be lawyered by Michael Gendler.

Escolar Signs with ICM Partners

Irene Escolar is one step closer to taking over Hollywood

The 27-year-old Spanish actress, who won the Goya Award for Breakthrough Performance by an Actress for her first starring role in Lara Izagirre’s romantic drama An Autumn Without Berlin, has signed with talent and literary agency ICM Partners.

Since winning a Goya Award, Escolar has since gone on to star in a vast array of roles in Spanish film, television and theater.

Her other film credits include AltamiraThe Broken Crown (playing the same role she did on the television show).

She also appears in the upcoming film adaptation of the Calderon de la Barca play Life Is a Dream.

Her television credits include the series Isabel.

Escolar is a sixth generation actress of Spain’s great Caba/Alba acting families and an alum of The London Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. She has worked extensively on stage.

She continues to be managed by Carlos Bobadilla and Brandon Guzmán of Valor Entertainment, and represented by Majós Martínez in Spain.

Canela Signs with ICM Partners

Jencarlos Canela is changing teams…

The 26-year-old Cuban American actor and musician has signed with the talent and literary agency ICM Partners.

Canela, currently one of the busiest Latin stars in Hollywood, just booked the male lead opposite Eva Longoria in her new NBC comedy Telenovela.

His other television credits include top-rated Telemundo series, Mas Sabe El Diablo.

As a musician, Canela’s 2009 debut album Buscame entered the Latin charts at No. 1 and was certified Gold within weeks of release. The following year, he was nominated for Best New Artist at the Latin Music Billboard Awards.

He will spend the next month on tour in the U.S.

Canela is managed by Ivan de Paz.

Roday Signs with ICM Partners

James Roday has new representation in Hollywood.

ICM Partners has signed the 38-year-old Mexican American actor and former Psych.

Rodriguez is s best known for his eight-season turn playing the lead, fake psychic Shawn Spencer, on the USA crime dramedy created by Steve Franks, also an ICM client.

The show and Roday developed a big following on social media and also were a top draw at Comic-Con. In addition to starring, Roday wrote and directed several episodes of Psych. Following the end of the series earlier this year, he wrote and directed Shoot The Moon for USA and Psych producer Universal Cable Prods. through a development fund. The presentation will be delivered to USA for pickup consideration in the next few weeks.

Roday, who was at CAA, co-founded Red Dog Squadron, a Los Angeles theater company, and took over the El Centro theater on Santa Monica Blvd. in Hollywood in order to give actors the opportunity to realize stage passion projects as actors, writers and/or directors.

He also wrote and directed the indie Gravy, starring Lily Cole, Sarah Silverman, Dule Hill and Gabourey Sidibe.

Roday is managed by Gotham/Principal and also repped by law firm Peikoff Mahan.

MMA Star Silva Signs with ICM Partners

Anderson Silva is one step closer to expanding his career beyond the cage…

The 38-year-old Brazilian mixed martial artist and former UFC Middleweight Champion has signed with ICM Partners for worldwide representation.

Silva, hailed as the greatest mixed martial arts fighter of all time, is looking to go into acting and producing films and television, as well as publishing and endorsement branding.

He’s a superstar in his growing sport, reigning as the UFC middleweight championship from 2006-13 and holding the record for most consecutive wins (16) and title defenses (10).

Silva was the subject of the documentary Like Water, which won the best director prize for Pablo Corce at the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival and was picked up by Cinedigm.

Silva, who boasts more than five million b followers and four million Facebook fans, is managed by Hebert Mota and theatrically managed by Talize Sayegh.

Ferrera Signs with Creative Artists Agency (CAA)

It’s official! America Ferrera is a creative artist

The 29-year-old Honduran American actress and former Ugly Betty star has officially signed with the Creative Artists Agency (CAA).

Before making move, Ferrera had been with ICM Partners for the past two-and-a-half years and had previously worked with Endeavor/WME.

Following her breakthrough performance in the indie drama Real Women Have Curves, Ferrera rose to superstar status on television as the lead of the ABC dramedy Ugly Betty, which earned her an Emmy and a Golden Globe.

Most recently, she has appeared in a recurring role on CBS’ drama The Good Wife.

For most of the past three years, since the series end of Ugly Betty, Ferrera had been focused on features and finishing college as her USC studies were interrupted by her casting on the ABC series.

Ferrera is attached to star in and executive produce Damascus, a one-hour drama set at CBS with put pilot commitment. Penned by Nick Osborne, it tells the story of a crusading nun (Ferrera) who practices law on behalf of the less fortunate.

Ferrera’s feature credits also include Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and How To Train Your Dragon franchises, as well as the upcoming Cesar Chavez: An America Hero.

Bobadilla Signs with Paradigm Talent Agency

Daniela Bobadilla has new representation…

The 20-year-old Mexican-born Canadian actress, who currently stars on FX’s Anger Management, has signed with Paradigm Talent Agency, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Bobadilla, who plays the teenage daughter of Charlie Sheen‘s character on the FX comedy series, is leaving ICM Partners to reunite with Iris Grossman, the veteran agent who departed for Paradigm in June.

Other Grossman clients who have already made the move include Mandy Patinkin, Julie Benz and Ed O’Neill.

Last month Bobadilla starred in the Lifetime telepic The Cheating Pact.

Previously she was a series regular on the NBC drama Awake and has guest-starred on Desperate Housewives, Big Time Rush and Emily Owens M.D.
