Rivera Releases Debut Single “Sorry”

She’s proficiently covered the likes of Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and Kelly Clarkson… And, now Naya Rivera has released her own song.

The 26-year-old half-Puerto Rican singer/actress and Glee star released her own track, Sorry, on Los Angeles radio station Power 106 FM on Friday.

Naya Rivera

Rivera, best known for portraying Santana Lopez on Fox’s hit musical dramedy, got a little help from her boyfriend, G.O.O.D. Music label rapper Big Sean on recording the single and debuting it on air.

“Heard that #nayapower trended?! You guys are the best. This was a good day for all of us and I can’t thank you enough for your support,” Rivera tweeted on Friday.

The single, which Rivera says has “been a long time coming,” was finally dropped after Rivera shared a snippet of it last week on Twitter.

After her big break on Glee, Rivera signed a solo album record deal with Columbia Records back in May 2011.

Prior to releasing “Sorry” with Big Sean, Rivera recorded a feature on Croatian cello duo 2Cellos‘ sophomore album second single, a cover of Muse‘s “Supermassive Black Hole” and also appeared in the song’s music video.

Justice Releases Debut Single “Gold”

It’s a golden moment for Victoria Justice

The 20-year-old half-Puerto Rican singer/actress has unveiled her debut single “Gold,” which was released to digital retailers on Tuesday, June 18, after premiering on Ryan Seacrest‘s syndicated radio show one day earlier.

Victoria Justice

Justice’s “Gold” follows in the pop-rock footsteps of Kelly Clarkson and P!nk, with the former Victorious star keeping things light with some PG-rated “we’re more than friends!” exclamations and tossed-off rapping in the bridge.

Justice gives her Nickelodeon fans an airy, accessible introduction to her first proper solo album.

“It definitely falls under the category of pop, but it’s my own vibe,” Justice told Billboard about the album earlier this month. “When you hear these songs…the people that know me are like, ‘This is so Vic!’ It’s 100 percent my personality, messages I want to get across. Some of the songs are really fun, upbeat stuff you can dance to, and then I have some songs that are a little more introspective, a little more mellow. It’s just all me, basically, so it’s very cool.”

Along with “Gold,” Justice has offered a non-single bonus track, “Shake,” to fans eager for new music.

Justice will perform the single and her older favorites when she kicks off her summer tour alongside Big Time Rush on June 21 in Los Angeles.

The Full Version of Lovato’s New Track “Heart Attack” Leaks Online

Don’t have a heart attack… Demi Lovato’s brand new single has made it on to the internet.

The 20-year-old part-Mexican American singer’s track “Heart Attack” has leaked online a week before it was expected to premiere on Ryan Seacrest‘s syndicated radio show.

Demi Lovato

Following the release of teaser snippets, the complete version of Lovato’s sweeping electro-pop track leaked online, a hint at the former Sonny with a Chance star’s upcoming fourth album.

Unbroken,  Lovato’s 2011 album, was led by the somber ballad “Skyscraper.” But “Heart Attack” is closer in intensity to Lovato’s breakout hit “Give Your Heart a Break.” Produced by the Suspex, “Heart Attack’s” hook rests upon a breathy guitar lick that leads directly into a monstrous percussion breakdown, and Lovato is in full, Kelly Clarkson-esque belting mode as she declares that she’s “putting my defenses up/’Cuz I don’t wanna fall in love.”

Earlier this month, Lovato released a teaser of the song, and announced that her still-untitled next album will be more personal.

“For a while, I could tell that, when people would talk to me, they knew my story,” she said. “I think I’ve opened up more on this album. My life began to evolve, and I started to grow.”

“Heart Attack” is now available on iTunes, and Lovato’s follow-up to Unbroken is expected to arrive later this spring.

Miguel Lands Post-Grammys Billboard Cover

Following the smoldering Grammy appearance that Kelly Clarkson called “the sexiest damn thing I’ve ever seen,” Miguel has landed his first Billboard cover.

The 27-year-old half-Mexican American singer, who earned his first Grammy this year, appears on the cover of Billboard’s Grammy issue dated February 23, along with a cover story about the R&B singer-songwriter.

Miguel's Billboard Cover

Following Miguel’s performance of  “Adorn,” the hit single achieved its best sales week ever on the strength of Sunday-night sales alone, rising to 44,000 downloads, according to Nielsen SoundScan, a 229% surge. The single, which reached No. 1 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart, won the Grammy for Best R&B song.

“I found out in the car as we were pulling up to the red carpet,” said Miguel of learning he’d won in the non-televised category. “It was an ‘Oh, shit’ moment. I had my girl with me and it was like, ‘How crazy is that? And I get to perform?’ It was just a great feeling.”

Since his Grammy night, Miguel confirmed to Billboard that he’d been approached by “a few artists I’m truly a fan of,” but no one he could confirm.

“The cool part is you want people to discover you. It’s such an awesome opportunity and awesome time for that to happen,” he says. “I’m on like cloud 12, man.”

And Miguel’s star will only shine brighter now that he’s hitting the road with Alicia Keys on the “Set the World on Fire” tour.

“She just kind of asked me, ‘Hey, would you be down to come out?’ And I said, ‘Absolutely,’ recalls Miguel. “We had enough time to really appreciate and respect each other’s integrity as musicians. I really love her as an individual, and she’s a light amongst a lot of the bullshit in this whole thing. I’m really excited and honored that she invited us out. We’ll do our damnedest to work the crowd up before she plays.”
