J Balvin to Take Part in Special “Mind & Music” Conversation at This Year’s Latin Music Week

The 35-year-old Colombian reggaeton singer will sit alongside Deepak Chopra in a special Q&A conversation during the 30th anniversary Latin Music Week.

Balvin will participate in a first-of-its-kind Q&A panel with the well-being pioneer titled “Mind & Music: Finding Meaning and Fulfillment Through Mindfulness and Music.”

They’ll discuss what meditation means to them, its connection to music, and why they decided to start a 21-day meditation program together.

Meanwhile, Grammy-winning Spanish singer-songwriter Rosalía will join a Q&A session with Oscar nominated, 13-time Grammy winning musician and producer Pharrell Williams in an artist to artist discussion of their parallel lives as renaissance artists with multiple ventures, from music to fashion.

Colombian singer-songwriter and philanthropist Carlos Vives will be joined by internationally renowned Venezuelan conductor Gustavo Dudamel, Music & Artistic Director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, in an enlightening conversation on the power of music and the arts as a global agent of change for a better society.

And superstar Ozuna, one of the top-selling artists in the world, will join Afo Verde, Chairman & CEO, Sony Music Latin Iberia, to discuss the crafting, production and promotion of his hit albums and songs.

Rauw Alejandro Releases “Elegi” Remix, Now Featuring Additional Vocals From Anuel AA, Farruko, Sech & Justin Quiles

The 27-year-old Puerto Rican singer/rapper has released the remix for his single “Elegi,” and he’s recruited some big name help to make it pop.

Anuel AA, Farruko, Sech, and Justin Quiles appear on the remix, along with Dalex, Lenny Tavarez, and Dimelo Flow, who appeared on the original version of the song released in late March.

The core of the song’s lyrics centers on two people who have intense sexual chemistry, and who reconnect after having the “best night ever.”

Anuel AA, Farruko, Sech, and Quiles add a little extra spice and sensuality to the remix of the reggaeton track. This time around, Anuel AA kicks off the track and samples part of his 2018, Haze-assisted “Amanece.”

Directed by Gus, the music video shows the power team joined by a group of models.

Both Rauw and Sech are confirmed for Billboard‘s two-part On the Rise panels at the 2020 virtual Latin Music Week taking place from October 20th to 23rd.

Rosalía to Take Part in This Year’s Virtual Latin Music Week, Moved to October Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic

The 26-year-old Spanish Grammy-winning singer-songwriterwill participate in this year’s Latin Music Week, a three-day immersive experience dedicated to Latin music, culture and entertainment.

Rosalia joins a roster of participating superstars that includes J BalvinTaboo and the Black Eyed PeasMaluma,Ozuna and Carlos Vives.

Celebrating its 30th anniversary as the longest-running and biggest Latin music industry, Latin Music Week2020 will take place on October 20-23. 

This year’s festivities will be virtual, and will feature intimate artist conversations, industry panels, workshops and performances.

“Latin music has become a formidable and undeniable uniting force around the world, so it’s fitting that this year’s virtual Latin Music Week will be globally accessible at no cost to the industry and fans for the first time,” said Leila Cobo, vp, Latin industry lead, Billboard. “While we were disappointed to postpone our April conference, our virtual event will allow us to connect with fans and artists from all over the world no matter where they are. During these very difficult times, we are thrilled to extend an invitation to all who wish to celebrate Latin music and culture.” 

This year’s Latin Music Week was originally scheduled to take place April 20-23 in Las Vegas, but was postponed due to COVID-19.

J Alvarez to Headline Billboard Sounds Showcase During Latin Music Week

The 35-year-old Puerto Rican reggaeton singer is set to headline the Billboard Sounds Showcase during Billboard’s Latin Music Week in Las Vegas.

The event will take place from 9:00 pm to 11:00 pm on Wednesday, April 24 at Drai’s After Hours.

Joining J Alvarez, best known for hit singles like “Junto Al Amanecer,” “La Pregunta,” and “Esa Boquita,“will be a wave of old-school and new-school reggaeton artists, including Nio GarciaCasper MagicoMC CejaDJ Nelsonand Myke Towers.

Returning for its 29th year, Latin Music Week features Q&A sessions and panels, including its signature “Star Q&As,” as well as panels focusing on streaming, videos, both mainstream and Latin collaborations and more. Registration to the conference will give attendees access to three days of panels, one-on-one sessions and showcases, plus tickets to the Billboard Latin Music Awards, which will air live on Telemundo on April 25.
