Hayek to Present at This Year’s Oscars Ceremony

Salma Hayek has a date with Oscar…

The 46-year-old Mexican American actress, an Academy Award nominee for her performance in Frida,  has been added to the list of presenters at this year’s Oscars.

Hayek, who will next appear in Grown Ups 2, joins Melissa McCarthy, Liam Neeson and John Travolta as most recent additions to the presenters list.

The Academy Awards will take place on Sunday, February 24 at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center.

The ceremony will be hosted by Seth MacFarlane.

Bichir Feeling “The Heat” with Sandra Bullock

Demián Bichir’s star continues to rise in Hollywood…

The 48-year-old Mexican actor, who earned his first Oscar nomination this year for his role in A Better Life, has signed on to star opposite Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy in The Heat.

In his first English-language comedy, Bichir will play an FBI agent.

Bichir, who was last seen starring opposite Benicio del Toro and Salma Hayek in Oliver Stone’s Savages earlier this summer, recently wrapped up work on Robert Rodriguez’s Machete Kills with Danny Trejo, Jessica Alba and Sofia Vergara.

Rodriguez to Star in “Identity Thief”

Genesis Rodriguez is getting married to the mob… at least on the big screen!

The 24-year-old Venezuelan American actress has signed on to star in Universal’s film Identity Thief.

In the comedy starring Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy, Rodriguez will play an associate to a local crime boss who comes looking for McCarthy’s character after she scams them out of money.

This marks Rodriguez’s latest project in her quest to make a big splash in Hollywood…

She previously starred in Man On A Ledge and Will Ferrell’s Spanish-language melodrama Casa De Mi Padre. And, she most recently appeared opposite Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Lopez in What to Expect When You’re Expecting.

Louis C.K. Nabs Four Awards at 2012 Comedy Awards

Louis C.K. proved to be the king of the night at the second annual Comedy Central Comedy Awards this past weekend…

The 44-year-old part-Mexican American actor/comedian—who was nominated for five awards—picked up four trophies, including Stand-Up Tour of the year during the taped awards show.

Louis C.K. beat out Jerry Seinfeld, Dave Attell, Lewis Black and Kevin Hart for the honor.

Meanwhile, Louis C.K.’s online comedy special Louis C.K.: Live at the Beacon Theaterwon the award for Comedy Special of the Year.

In addition, Louis C.K.’s popular FX series Louie took home the trophies for Sketch/Alternative Comedy Series and Comedy Directing-TV.

The night’s other winners included comedic icons Robin Williams, Melissa McCarthy, Don Rickles and Amy Poehler.

The awards show are scheduled to air on May 6 at 9:00 pm ET on Comedy Central.
