Alba Throws Out Impressive First Pitch at Dodgers Game

Sure she’s known as a Hollywood sex symbol… But, Jessica Alba is also one athletic woman.

The 33-year-old half-Mexican American actress proved that on Sunday when she threw out the ceremonial first pitch at Dodger Stadium.

Jessica Alba

Even though she could have gotten closer to the home plate, Alba elected to take the mound when she threw out the first pitch at the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball game.

In a vine captured by the Major League Baseball team, the Sin City: A Dame to Kill For actress shows some serious athletic skills as she plays catch with one of the Dodgers’ players moments before her big moment.

Alba’s experience at the stadium comes after Jeff Bridges and Chrissy Teigen delivered impressive first pitches earlier this summer. And, Alba’s was much better than 50 Cent‘s sad attempt.

Mascherano’s Words of Encouragement to Sergio Romero Go Viral

It’s no wonder Javier Mascherano is considered Argentina’s de facto team captain…

The 30-year-old Argentine footballer’s inspiring words to the team’s goalie Sergio Romero during his team’s FIFA World Cup semifinal match against the Netherlands on Wednesday, just moments before the end of the match, have gone viral thanks to a Vine clip, and made him a star in his own right

Sergio Romero

“Listen to me. It’s today. Today, you become a hero,” says Mascherano seconds before the penalty kicks showdown that closed the semifinals.

Romero saved two penalty kicks from the Netherlands, making Mascherano’s words ring true and leading his team to victory — and the final match against Germany on Sunday.

Vine footage of that short and powerful dialog quickly went viral, prompting Mascherano, who lead his team in a legendary performance against The Netherlands and tackled a very dangerous shot by the Dutch’s feared star Arjen Robben,to nationwide praise throughout social media.

Memes were also replicated all over Facebook and Twitter, comparing the FC Barcelona midfielder to Che Guevara and South American Liberator Jose de San Martin, among other strong and brave leaders.

“Must say, Mascherano was immense. What a heart!” tweeted England football star Gary Lineker.

The social media buzz even earned him Chuck Norris status through the hashtag #maschefacts, with posts like: “Mascherano asks bouncers for their IDs,” “Mascherano can win the Hunger Games with a teaspoon,” and “Mascherano goes to negotiate with vulture funds and brings back change,” among others.

Jauregui, Cabello & Hernandez’s Fifth Harmony Release “Miss Movin’ On” Video

Lauren Jauregui, Camila Cabello and Ally Brooke Hernandez may not have come away the winners of Fox’s The X Factor, but they are movin’ on to bigger and better things…

The Latina singers, members of the Simon Cowell-created all-girl group, have released the Vine-style video for their debut single “Miss Movin’ On.”

Fifth Harmony

The video – part sing-along party, part fun with markers – features the fresh-faced quintet holding up the colorfully written words to the kiss-off anthem. The girls are framed in a Vine-esque app, with the video’s quick edits in the style of the video service’s short shots.

The empowerment track fulfills the girl group’s promise to release “fun pop,” which the quintet made to Billboard at the Radio Disney Music Awards in April. The group was “really far along” with its debut album at that point, with a release anticipated this year on Epic Records.

Producers involved in Fifth Harmony’s debut album include Toby Gad and Julian Bunetta, with Fifth Harmony contributing songwriting as well.

Fifth Harmony finished in third place on the second season of The X Factor earlier this year.
