RBD Returns to the Music Scene with Nostalgic Pop Track “Siempre He Estado Aquí”

The iconic Mexican band has delivered the dreamy, nostalgic pop track “Siempre He Estado Aquí,” its first single in 12 years.

The song features of the band’s four of six members: Anahí, Christopher von Uckermann, Maite Perroni and Christian Chavez.

The new song marks the band’s grand return to the spotlight after separating in 2009 following massive global success.

“Siempre He Estado Aquí,” produced and penned by Andrés Torres and Mauricio Rengifo, starts off with Anahí’s angelic voice, which immediately enraptures you.

The track has been released ahead of RBD’s forthcoming global virtual concert on December 26.

Anahi & Her RBD Band Mates Set Date for Reunion & Virtual Concert

Anahí and the gang are getting back together again…

It’s been 12 years since the 37-year-old Mexican singer/actress and her fellow RBD members’ last concert. And after rumors of a band gathering in the works, the Mexican group has officially set a date for their highly anticipated reunion.

On December 26, four of the six RBD members — Anahí, Maite Perroni, Christian Chávez, and Christopher Von Uckermann — will come together for virtual event dubbed “Ser o Parecer.”

It kicks off at 11:00 am ET with a “marathon tribute” to the Rebelde generation, where fans from all over the world will be able to be part of the marathon by submitting their own tribute videos here.

“After 12 years, we’ll finally be together again,” the participating artists posted on their social media while inviting fans to purchase tickets for the 7:00 pm ET livestream concert that will wrap up the virtual event. Tickets to the livestream concert go on sale October 4.

The virtual reunion announcement comes just weeks after RBD’s catalog was made available on all digital streaming platforms.

The band, inspired by the hit telenovela Rebelde (2004-2006), became an unstoppable force, performing sold-out shows around the world. On the Billboard charts, RBD had a total of seven entries on the Billboard 200 chart including Rebelde, Celestial and Nuestro Amor, and eight entries on Top Latin Albums with six hitting the top 10. Over on Hot Latin Songs, the band had 10 total entries and out of those, five hit top 10.

 

Canela Picks Up Lead Actor Award at the Premios Tu Mundo

Jencarlos Canela should be grinning from ear to ear…

The 24-year-old Cuban-American actor/singer picked up the Favorite Lead Actor award for his starring role on the hit telenovela Mi Corazón Insiste at the first-ever Premios Tu Mundo, which celebrate the best in telenovelas, music, fashion, movies and sports.

Other winners include La Casa de al Lado and Una Maid en Manhattan honored with two awards each; while Flor Salvaje was honored with one award. Winners in music categories included: “Dutty Love” by Don Omar featuring Natti Natasha for The Party Starting Song; “Las Cosas Pequeñas” by Prince Royce for Song that Steals My Heart  and “Follow the Leader” by Wisin y Yandel featuring Jennifer Lopez for Best Musical Video.

In the film category, Jennifer Lopez was named Favorite Latino in Hollywood. Best Athlete of the Year went to Marlen Esparza, and Rafael Nadal won the Most Charismatic Athlete award; while the Favorite Supermodel award went to Adriana Lima and the I’m Sexy and I Know It award went to Anahi.

Fans from all over the country cast nearly five million votes online at www.premiostumundo.com and through Telemundo’s iPhone app, for their favorite TV shows, actors and actresses, movies, music, athletes and stars in 24 categories.

Broadcast live on Telemundo from the Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theater, the event hosted by telenovela stars Gaby Espino and Rafael Amaya and featuring high-octane performances by Tito El Bambino, David Bisbal, Jesse & Joy and Chuy Lizarraga.

Anahí Debuts Her Shoe Designs in the United States

She’s known for her killer style… And now Anahí is helping women like her put their best (fashion) foot forward…

The 29-year-old Mexican singer/actress is making her stateside debut as a fashion designer with her own line of shoes for style-savvy Latinas.

“I’m super happy to launch in the U.S. the sale of shoes by catalog where Latino women can select from among a great variety and according to their tastes,” says Anahí , who is reportedly recording a duet with Flo Rida.

The publicity campaign to promote Los Zapatos Fabulosos de Anahí  in the United States began this week, with the former member of RBD offering her footwear designs online via Aviesta.com.

“I make suggestions with drawings of the shoes’ designs so that Latino women see them as pretty, like the ones the celebrities use on the red carpet, but at prices accessible to everybody,” said Anahí, who serves as Aviesta.com’s fashion director.

“Four years ago we began to offer my shoe designs in Mexico, but via the Facebook page and other social networks, the girls in the U.S. have been asking me when I was going to expand the service … here,” added the singer.

It looks like the time is now… And after taking a Style Quiz on the website, you’ll have a monthly showroom of Anahí-approved zapatos to choose from.

Vázquez Sounds Releases Cover of The Beatles’ “Let It Be”

Following successful covers of music by Adele, Mariah Carey and more,  Vázquez Sounds is back with the band-of-siblings’ fifth cover…

This time 10-year-old lead singer Angie Vázquez and her teenage brothers Abelardo and Gustavo—who play the keyboard, guitar and drums—have just released the video of the band’s version of The Beatles’ “Let It Be.”

In the black and white video, the Mexican siblings—who became instant internet sensations with their cover of Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep”—offer a simple-but-impactful take on the popular Beatles tune.

In addition, the Mexicali siblings have been invited by John Lennon’s widow Yoko Ono to join former RBD singer Anahi as ambassadors of peace her The Non Violence Project. As part of their responsibilities, the trio will promote the message of peace at its concerts and presentations.

Meanwhile, Vázquez Sounds’ cover of “Let It Be” will be available on iTunes on Tuesday, June 19.

Anahi to Record Duet with Flo Rida

She’s on a mission to get break into the American market… And, now it seems Anahi has found the perfect collaborator to help in the quest.

The 28-year-old Mexican singer/actress—who recently recorded a duet with legendary Mexican singer Juan Gabriel—is reportedly recording a duet with Flo Rida, according to Latin Gossip.

The American rapper and singer-songwriter has previously partnered with artists like Nelly Furtado, David Guetta and T-Pain. And Flo Rida’s most recent single, “Good Feeling,” became his sixth top-10 and fourth top-five single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. So it looks like Anahi could be in great hands.

No word yet on whether the duet will be in English or Spanglish, , and the release date is still yet to be determined.

Anahi Records Duet with Juan Gabriel…

She’s considered Mexico’s most influential celebrity in social media with more than three million followers… And now Anahí has set her sights on reaching an older audience!

The 28-year-old Mexican singer/actress has recorded a track with the legendary Juan Gabriel for his upcoming commemorative album.

“You’ll see a hit,” announced Anahí on Twitter regarding her collaboration with the beloved 61-year-old singer/songwriter about the song that they recorded in the Mexican Caribbean.

“Happy! Recording with the greatest artist Mexico has ever had. Juan Gabriel, I love you,” wrote the former RBD member in another message to her Twitter followers, along with including a picture of the two on the beach. “Thank you for believing in me.”

Anahí’s duet with Gabriel—a single expected to bridge the gap between generations of music lovers—will form part of El Divo de Juárez’s latest project to commemorate his 40 years in the music industry as one of Mexico’s most prolific singer-songwriters.

Gabriel responded to Anahí’s tweet with one of his own:

“Thank you for coming, for singing and for being with me. Blessings to so much youth,” wrote Gabriel.

Anahí: Mexico’s Most Influential Social Media Celebrity

All hail the queen of all social media south of the border: Anahí.

The 28-year-old Mexican singer & actress has been named Mexico’s most influential personality and the most influential female artist at this year’s first ever Social Media Awards.

“I know that this was about voting and voting again, and I know my fans has a lot to do with me winning and I appreciate them so much,” said the former member of Mexican group RBD who was recently named an ambassador of peace for Yoko Ono’s anti-violence organization.

Anahí, who has more than two million followers on Twitter, beat out actress Ana de la Reguera, presenter Galilea Montijo and journalists Carmen Aristegui and Adela Micha for title.

Meanwhile, Mexican singer/actor Jaime Camil was recognized as the most influential male artist.

The Social Media Awards were organized by the Mexican company Red10, as part of the the Social Media Fest, attended by actor and social media advocate Ashton Kutcher.

Awards were handed out in 15 categories related to entertainment, sports, politics, finance, technology and more.

Anahi Named Ambassador of Peace…

Mexican actress and singer Anahi is making history… She’s the first Latin American artist to join the Non Violence Foundation, an organization founded by Yoko Ono.

The 28-year-old former member of Latin Grammy-nominated pop group RBD made the announcement via her Twitter account. She’ll serve as an “ambassador of peace” for the organization, which promotes peace and non-violence throughout the world.

“It’s very important to me to be a part of this great cause,” wrote Anahi on her Twitter account. “Thank you for @NVPMexico and @yokoono for inviting me.”

Anahi joins a roster of high-profile musicians and artists involved with the organization including former Beatles members Ringo Starr and Sir Paul McCartney, as well as U2 frontman Bono

Along with spreading the message of love and peace in Mexico, Brazil and throughout the world, Anahi has designed a non-violence sculpture as part of the group’s “Pistols for Peace” traveling exhibition, which opened in Guadalajara, Mexico today.
