Wisin to Pull Double Duty at This Year’s Latin Music Week

The 44-year-old  Puerto Rican reggaeton rapper, singer and record producer and La Base, the record label he launched in 2020, are confirmed for the 2023 Latin Music Week and Billboard En Vivo concert series, returning to Miami from October 2 to 6.

WisinThe Billboard En Vivo with La Base and Wisin” event, held at Oasis Wynwood, will feature special guests Luny Tunes and DJ Nelson spinning the biggest reggaeton hits of yesterday and today. Also marking the first-ever La Base party out of Puerto Rico, the 21-and-over free event will be open to the public on a first come, first served basis.

Additionally, reggaeton icon Wisin will be joined by legendary hitmakers Luny, Tunes, DJ Nelson and Hybe for a once-in-a-lifetime conversation where they will share their views on identifying and creating hits. Titled “Wisin & La Base: Eye of the Tiger,” the panel presented by Smirnoff will be tied to Wisin’s visionary label and music company La Base.

In other Latin Music Week news, Billboard will reveal the final talent additions and full event schedule during a press conference held September 20 at the Faena Forum in Miami Beach, where Leila Cobo, chief content officer of Billboard Latin and Billboard Español, will be joined by mayor Dan Gelber, Valentina Bueno (director of Karol G’s Con Cora Foundation), as well as artists Fonseca, Mike Bahía and Venesti.

Celebrated for more than 30 years, Billboard Latin Music Week is the longest running and biggest Latin music industry gathering in the world, and coincides with the 2023 Billboard Latin Music Awards, which will be broadcast live on Telemundo on Thursday, October 5, from the Watsco Center in Miami.

Fonseca to Take Part in Billboard’s En Vivo Concert Series During Latin Music Week 2023

The 44-year-old Colombian singer will take part in Billboard‘s En Vivo concert series, with the live shows taking place during Latin Music Week 2023, which returns to the Faena Forum in Miami October 2-6.

FonsecaIn addition to Fonseca, the En Vivo concert series will also feature performances by GreeicyMike BahíaMyke TowersNathy Peluso and Young Miko. 

Colombian power couple Greeicy and Mike Bahía will take the stage on Monday, October 2 for an intimate performance at the Faena Theater presented by Michelob ULTRA. It will be a private show, available only to Billboard Latin Music Week pass holders (21+).

That same day, Venesti, Maffio, Nacho, Bernier, Gonza and Alejo will help turn on the Official Billboard Latin Music Week Kickoff Party, hosted by DJ Alex Sensation and presented by AP Global Music. This event is open to the public and free to all Latin Music Week pass holders (21+).

On Wednesday, Oct. 3, Argentine-Spanish singer and songwriter Peluso will grace the stage at Oasis Wynwood with special guest Young Miko. Latin Music Week pass holders will receive free access, but the show is open to the general public with tickets starting at $35 (already available here.)

Two big stars will be taking the stage on Friday, October 6. During the day, Puerto Rican rapper, singer and songwriter Myke Towers will give a special performance at Wynwood Marketplace, as part of the Billboard Latin Music Week Block Party. The event is free and open to the public on a first come, first served basis.

And for a grand finale, there will be Friday Night with Fonseca. Sponsored by Michelob ULTRA, the Colombian singer will close the week of En Vivo performances at Oasis Wynwood — with tickets also starting at $35 and Latin Music Week pass holders (21+) receiving free access.

Billboard Latin Music Week will also coincide with the 2023 Billboard Latin Music Awards, which will be broadcast live on Telemundo on Thursday, October 5 from the Watsco Center in Miami. Nicky Jam to Bring “Rockstar Show” to Billboard Latin Music Week, with Jhay Cortez as Special Guest

The 40-year-old Puerto Rican and Dominican American will bring his talk show Rockstar Show live to Billboard Latin Music Week, and he’s booked Jhay Cortez as his special guest.

The intimate experience is set to take place on September 22 exclusively for Billboard Latin Music Week registrants, with capacity limited.

Nicky Jam’s talk show, his passion project, launched in January with Maluma as his first guest.

Daddy YankeeKarol G and Nicky Jam are also confirmed for Billboard’s 2021 Latin Music Week, returning to Miami in September with a weeklong event that unites the top Latin hitmakers, influencers and industry leaders, and features live performances and conversations with superstars.

Latin Music Week will feature one-of-a-kind performances, panels, conversations and more with the aforementioned artists. Karol G will take center stage in The Superstar Q&A on September 21 for an in-depth conversation about her career, music, love and upcoming projects.

On September 22, fans will get up close and personal with Yankee as he discusses his 25-year career that launched reggaetón around the world in the second installment of The Superstar Q&A. The Puerto Rican hitmaker is also set to perform for a Billboard En Vivo concert that night at the Faena Forum exclusive to Billboard Latin Music Week registrants.

Other recently announced panels include “My Cause, My Music: A Conversation on Social Justice” with Cuban artist/activist Yotuel Romero, Puerto Rican star Kany García and ChocQuibTown members (and husband and wife) Goyo and Tostao; “Making the Hit, Live” masterclass with Lunay and his longtime producers Chris Jedi and Gaby Music; and “Regional No More– Mexican Music Goes Global” with Eslabon Armado, Los Dos Carnales and Carin Leon, which is moderated by Rancho Humilde‘s Jimmy Humilde.

For the first time, Billboard will launch a virtual streaming experience in partnership with LIVENow, offering viewing opportunities to international audiences. Passes for the livestream can now be purchased here. The star-studded 2021 Latin Music Week lineup also includes participation by García, Anitta, Elena RoseMyke TowersRauw Alejandro, EstemanRaymix, and Tainy, with more to be announced in the coming weeks.

The Latin American boy band, formed on the first season of Univision’s La Banda, will headline Billboard En Vivo.

Billboard and Pepsi will co-produce the latest edition of Billboard En Vivo, now in its fourth year, as the program celebrates emerging LatinX music by giving passionate fans a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see chart-topping artists at private concerts in New York, Los Angeles, and Miami. 

In addition to CNCO, additional local supporting artists will be announced for each of the three tour stops.

CNCO is currently in the studio finishing their upcoming new album set for release in September.

Since their formation in 2015, the Latin Grammy-nominated band has dazzled the music industry as one of Latin pop’s most influential and prolific hit-makers. Comprised of five young Latinos from different nationalities –- Christopher (Ecuador), Erick Brian (Cuba), Joel (Mexico), Richard (Dominican Republic) and Zabdiel (Puerto Rico) –- the group emerged from Univision’s musical competition La Banda.

J Balvin to Take Part in the “Billboard En Vivo” Concert Series

The 29-year-old Colombian reggaeton singer will take center stage when Billboard launches the Billboard En Vivo tour.

The new concert series will visit intimate venues in five cities this April and feature live acoustic performances by rising the Latin rhythm artist, as well as Bachata sensation Prince Royce and Salsa singer-songwriter Victor Manuelle, all of whom are Billboard Latin Music Awards finalists.

The Billboard En Vivo tour will begin on April 3 in New York City, and visits Chicago (April 7), L.A. (April 15), Houston (April 22) before wrapping up April 29 in Miami.

The concerts are a warm-up for the Billboard Latin Music Awards, which take place April 30 from the BankUnited Center in Miami.

“The Billboard En Vivo concert series demonstrates Billboard’s continued commitment to the evolving Latin market,” comments Janice Min, co-president and chief creative officer of Guggenheim Media‘s Entertainment Group, which consists of Billboard and The Hollywood Reporter. “As Latin musicians continue to build mainstream momentum, Billboard is bringing together hundreds of passionate music fans for a series of special moments leading up to one of our biggest nights, the Billboard Latin Music Awards.”

Telemundo is the official broadcast and digital distribution partner for Billboard En Vivo and the network will air the Billboard Latin Music Awards live at 8:00 pm EST on the big night.
