Jenna Ortega is dealing with some Fallout

The 17-year-old Mexican and Puerto Rican actress has been cast as the lead in the high-school drama The Fallout.

In the feature, high schooler Vada navigates the emotional fallout she experiences in the wake of a school tragedy. Relationships with her family, friends and view on the world are forever altered.

Actress Megan Parkwill write and direct the project.

Ortega, who rose to acclaim on the Disney Channel’s Stuck In The Middle, most recently appeared on Netflix’s series You.

Her other television credits include Jane the VirginCSI: NYand Bizaardvark.

She’ll next star on the big screen in Yes Dayopposite Jennifer Garnerand The Babysitter 2opposite Bella Thorne.

Gerard Celasco to Star in ABC’s Drama Pilot “The Finest” 

Gerard Celasco has landed his Finest role yet…

The 35-year-old Salvadoran-American actor has been cast in the ABC drama pilot The Finest (aka Untitled Holmes Sisters), from former CSI: NY showrunner Pam Veasey, Robin Roberts, Regina King, and ABC Studios.

Celasco will star opposite Eric BalfourDorian Missick, Zoe Robins, Frances Turner, Amirah Vanh and Tisha Campbell-Martin.

Written by Veasey and directed by King, the drama explores the lives of five African-American sisters, all officers in the NYPD, as they face the challenges of their high-risk jobs while juggling the responsibilities of marriage, motherhood and family.

Celasco will play Lucas, Nicole’s ex-boyfriend.

Celasco most recently recurred opposite Adam Brody and Ron Perlman on the Crackle series StartUp. 

Olmos to Star in FX’s “Sons of Anarchy” Spinoff Drama Pilot “Mayans MC”

The 69-year-old Mexican American actor has been cast in Kurt Sutter’s FX drama pilot Mayans MC (working title), a spinoff of his hit series Sons of Anarchy.

Co-created by Sutter and Elgin James, Mayans MC is set in the aftermath of Jax Teller’s death at the end of SOAs seven-season run in 2014. The offshoot will focus on the struggles of EZ Reyes, a prospect in the Mayan MC charter on the California/Mexico border.

Olmos, an Oscar nominee for his work in Stand and Deliver, will co-star as EZ’s father, Felipe Reyes, the once strong Mexican patriarch, crushed by bullets and hard labor, who struggles to keep his past buried and lead his sons down a lawful, righteous path.

Sutter is executive producing and directing the pilot, with James co-executive producing for Fox 21 Television Studios and FX Productions.

Olmos, a Battlestar Galactica alum, recently recurred on ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. His other television credits include Dexter, CSI: NY, Eureka and Portlandia.

Garcia to Star on AMC’s “Fear The Walking Dead”

The 32-year-old Cuban actress has been cast on AMC’s Fear The Walking Dead.

Garcia, who appeared on Fox‘s drama series Prison Break, will portray Lucia, a solider who is connected with a religious group that see the walkers as part of an evolution.

“It’s not a normal job, it’s a Fear The Walking Dead job,” said Garcia alum of what it was like to join the show to big laughs from the crowd.

The second half of the series current season will debut on Sunday, August 21 and will feature a separated group still in Mexico with some religious groups embracing the walkers and road gangs wrecking bloodthirsty havoc in the anarchy of a society that has fallen apart.

“For the first time we are going to see our characters really having to learn to survive in the apocalypse,” says executive producer Dave Erickson. “We are going to see a level of intensity and violence in the back half that we haven’t seen before,” the showrunner added.

Having premiered to record breaking ratings on August 23 last year with a six-episode run, FearTWD saw its second 15-episode season start on April 10 and went on midseason break on May 22. The series was renewed for a third season on April 15.

Garcia’s credits include appearances on CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, The Cleaner and Supernatural.

Flores to Star Opposite Bella Thorne in ABC Family’s Drama Pilot “Famous in Love”

The Mexican American actress has joined the cast of the ABC Family drama pilot Famous In Love.

The project, based on Rebecca Serle’s romantic novel, was written by Serle and I. Marlene King, executive producer/co-showrunner of ABC Family’s flagship drama series Pretty Little Liars.

Famous In Love centers on Paige (Bella Thorne), an ordinary college student who gets her big break after auditioning for the starring role in a Hollywood blockbuster. She must now navigate her new star-studded life and undeniable chemistry with her two co-leads while uncovering the truth about what happened to a famous missing pop star.

Flores will play Cassandra, Paige’s roommate and close friend, who is straight-forward and a good friend.

Miguel Arteta is set to direct the pilot, which he will executive produce alongside King and Dan Farah.

Serle co-executive produces the drama from Warner Horizon Television.

Flores’ credits include appearances on CSI: NY, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Big Time Rush.

Martinez to Star in the Revenge Thriller “Message From The King”

It’s a King’s landing for Natalie Martinez

The 30-year-old Cuban American actress has landed a role in Message From The King, a revenge thriller from director Fabrice Du Welz.

The film stars Chadwick Boseman as Jacob, a South African man who descends into the Los Angeles underworld in an attempt to avenge his younger sister’s death and rescue her stepson from the immoral world into which he’s been sold.

Martinez will portray Trish, the former neighbor of Jacob’s missing sister Bianca who he recruits to help find the woman’s murderer.

Teresa Palmer, Luke Evans and Alfred Molina also star.

Filming is expected to begin this month in Los Angeles.

Martinez currently plays Jess Murphy on ABC’s midseason Sunday drama Secrets And Lies, and her other recent credits include multiple episodes of Under The DomeCSI: NY and Detroit 1-8-7.

She will next be seen in the Focus Features summer pic Self/Less starring Ryan Reynolds and Ben Kingsley.

Fumero to Star the Second Season of Starz’s Drama “Power”

The 41-year-old Cuban actor has been cast as a series regular on Season 2 of Starz’s drama series Power.

From CBS Television Studios, Power centers on wealthy New York City nightclub owner James “Ghost” St. Patrick (portrayed Omari Hardwick), who is living a double life as a kingpin.

Fumero, whose credits include roles on One Life To Live, CSI: Miami and CSI: NY will play Mike Sandoval, the handsome new Chief of the Crime Division, who has moved from Southern California to NY to make sure this prominent investigation is run correctly.

Power is executive produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.

ABC to Launch Collins Jr.’s “Red Widow” in January…

It’s official! Clifton Collins Jr. will be seeing Red this January…

ABC has officially announced the network’s midseason schedule, with the 42-year-old Mexican American actor’s much-anticipated new series Red Widow getting a prime spot.

Red Widow will inherit recently cancelled 666 Park Avenue’s post-Revenge slot on Sunday nights at 10:00 pm ET.

Starring Radha Mitchell and Goran Visnijc, Red Widow centers on a woman who following her husband’s murder is lured into his double life with the mob. Collins will star as FBI agent James Ramos.

This is Collins’ latest television project, following his starring role on NBC’s sci-fi drama The Event and guest-starring role on CSI: NY.
