Domingo Zapata to Direct Film Adaptation of His Semi-Autobigraphical Novel “The Beautiful Dream of Life”

Domingo Zapata is turning his life into art…

The 48-year-old Spanish celebrity artist, writer and fashion designer is set to direct a film adaptation of his 2017 semi-autobiographical novel The Beautiful Dream of Life.

Domingo ZapataVeteran producers Cary Granat and Ed Jones will produce the feature adaptation.

In an innovative move, the production will feature 18 pieces of original artwork by Zapata that will be sold as Fine Art pieces and NFTs.

Last year, Zapata’s work Mona Lisa Bull Fighter sold for a personal £1 million record at a charity auction in St. Barts, in which Leonardo DiCaprio was reportedly outbid.

Zapata is known for his lavish lifestyle, film star girlfriends and celebrity collectors, such as DiCaprio, Johnny Depp and George Soros.

He travelled to the Cannes Film Festival for the final days of the film festival to help launch the project and also attend the world premiere of Ken Loach’s Palme d’Or contender The Old Oak on Friday evening.

The Beautiful Dream of Life is being represented by Dan Aloni, Deborah McIntosh, Daniel Rak, and Chris Jacquemin at WME.

Set against the backdrop of the contemporary art world, Zapata’s immersive novel The Beautiful Dream of Life revolves around a renowned painter living in a multi-million-dollar penthouse in New York’s Gramercy Park.

Tired of his hedonistic, party lifestyle and the adulation of those who worship him, he escapes into an imaginary world, where he lives side-by-side with his fantasy ideal of the perfect woman.

Originally from Palma de Mallorca, Spain, Zapata maintains studios in New York City, Venice, Paris, and Miami.

Vergara Dons Black Lingerie on the Set of “Fading Gigolo”

The 40-year-old Colombian actress has been caught in the act of wearing oh-so-revealing black lingerie on the set of her new film with Sharon Stone, Fading Gigolo.

Vergara, who recently stripped down for artist Domingo Zapata, demonstrates that her ample assets are certainly age-defying as she portrays a wealthy woman, bored in her marriage.

According to the U.K.’s Daily Mail, she engages in a three-way relationship with Stone’s character, a dermatologist, and a male escort played by John Turturro. Playing cash-strapped bookstore owner-turned pimp to Turturro in the film is Woody Allen.

The comedy, which also stars Liev Schreiber, Vanessa Paradis and Jill Scott, is slated for release in 2013.

A Nearly Nude Vergara Models for Artist Domingo Zapata

There’s no denying Sofia Vergara’s curvaceous body could be described as a work of art… And, now it is an actual work of art.

The 40-year-old Colombian actress stripped down to her birthday suit to let noted artist Domingo Zapata paint on her.

“We met through friends and we started talking about doing something together and one day she said, ‘Let’s do it,’ explained the 37-year-old Spanish-American contemporary artist, who recently created a similar piece with Lindsay Lohan that sold for $100,000. “I said, ‘Okay, I don’t have a canvas, so I’m going to have to paint on you.’”

The idea of using her nearly nude body as a canvas didn’t scare the Modern Family starlet and she was ready to get the project started.

Domingo Zapata's Sofia Vergara Art PieceZapata decided to paint the words to a Spanish poem titled “Life is a Dream” on Vergara’s body.

“She is one of the most beautiful women in the world and very comfortable with her body,” said Zapata. “What a canvas!”

Zapata sold the 12-polaroid series of Vergara for $220,000.

The artist will next be working with another Latina bombshell, Eva Longoria.

Entitled “Eat Me,” Zapata’s work of art is made up of four snapshots of a platinum blond Lohan with a sultry look on her face. Zapata embellished the piece with paint into an Adam and Eve story of original sin and the following words scripted throughout the grid layout:

“An Apple . . . that I like . . . with a bite out of it. Adam and Eve changed mankind forever . . . started SIN . . . it was a plain simple apple hanging from a tree. Then the world changed for all of us” scripted throughout the grid layout.”

Zapata, who shot the images in his studio at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, reportedly sold the work through the Hus Gallery to a prominent British collector, according to The New York Post.

Zapata is best known for producing figurative and abstract expressionist paintings in both oil and acrylics, as well as mixed media and collage.
