Freeform has announced that the second season of Grown-ish, starring the 30-year-old Mexican and Honduran American actress, will premiere on January 2 at 8:00 pm ET.

Following their freshman year, Zoey (Yara Shahidi) and her friends are returning for their second year at CalU, during which they’ll soon discover they still have a lot to learn.

Returning alongside Shahidi and Raisa, who portrays Zoey’s roommate Ana Torres, are Trevor Jackson, Emily Arlook, Jordan Buhat, Chloe and Halle Bailey, Luka Sabbat and Deon Cole.

Freeform Releases Trailer for Francia Raisa’s “Life-Size 2”

Freeform has released the official trailer for Life-Size 2, starring the 30-year-old Honduran and Mexican American actress and Tyra Banks.

In the film,  Raisa plays Grace Manning, a 20-something CEO of Marathon Toys, a huge toy company started by her mother that is most famous for manufacturing the iconic Eve doll. Grace is also in the middle of her quarter-life crisis, realizing she is in over her head as CEO. To make matters worse, her wild-child ways are causing the company’s stock to plummet. With the help of her young next-door neighbor, Grace’s old Eve doll (Banks) magically awakens to help get Grace back on track and give her the confidence to be the woman and leader Eve knows Grace can be.

The movie also stars Alison Fernandez, Gavin Stenhouse, Shanica Knowles and Hank Chen.

Life-Size 2 premieres on Sunday, December 2, at 9:00 pm EST/PST.

The film is written by Cameron Fay and Stacey Harman and directed by Steven K. Tsuchida.

Francia Raisa to Star in Freeform’s “Black-ish” Spinoff, “Grown-ish”

The 29-year-old Honduran and Mexican American actress has joined the cast of Freeform’s Grown-ish, the spinoff of ABC’s acclaimed sitcom Black-ish.

Grown-ish, from Black-ish executive producer Kenya Barris, is a contemporary take on the current issues facing both students and administrators in the world of higher education. Yara Shahidi portrays Zoey – Dre (Anthony Anderson) and Rainbow’s (Tracee Ellis Ross) popular, entitled, stylish and socially active 17-year-old daughter — as she heads off to college and quickly discovers that not everything goes her way once she leaves the nest.

Raisa will portray Ana, an outspoken conservative freshman at Southern California University.

Raisa joins previously announced cast members Shahidi, Deon Cole, Chris Parnell, Emily Arlook and Trevor Jackson.

The 13-episode comedy series is set to start production next week for an early 2018 premiere on Freeform.

Raisa, who rose to acclaim on The Secret Life of the American Teenager, previously appeared on Dear White People, The Mindy Project and In Plain Sight.

The 26-year-old Honduran and Mexican American actress has signed on with Abrams Artists Agency.

Raisa was a regular on ABC Family’s The Secret Life of the American Teenager throughout its five-season run and appeared in the telefilms A Snow Globe Christmas and Christmas Bounty.

Other television gigs include The Mindy Project, CSI and In Plain Sight. She next appears in the Lifetime series Un-Real and the features Dirty Lies and Beyond Paradise.

The 25-year-old Honduran and Mexican American actress has joined the cast of Shiri Appleby’s Lifetime’s drama pilot Unreal.

The project goes behind the scenes of a hit competition dating series to follow the experiences of a young staffer (Life Unexpected‘s Appleby) whose lone job is to manipulate the relationships with (and among) the contestants in order to get the vital dramatic and outrageous footage producers demand.

Raisa will play Inez, a lesbian producer behind the scenes of the unscripted show who has a knack for finding great talent for the show.

Marti Noxon and Sarah Gertrude Shapiro penned the pilot, which is based on the latter’s short, Sequin Raze.

Raisa’s credits also include The Mindy Project, The CW pilot Company Town and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

Lovato Scores Three Teen Choice Award Nominations…

The second wave of 2012 Teen Choice Awards nominations have been announced and Demi Lovato leads the pack of Latino nominees.

The 19-year-old part-Mexican singer/actress and new X Factor judge received three nods this round. She’s nominated for Choice Summer Music Star: Female, Choice Love Song and Choice Summer Song.

Lovato had previously received a nomination for Choice Twit, bringing her grand total of  Teen Choice Awards nominations to four.

But Lovato’s late surge wasn’t enough to move past Jennifer Lopez as the overall top Latino nominee.

The 42-year-old Puerto Rican singer/actress received an additional nod this round in the Choice Summer Music Star: Female category, bringing her Teen Choice Awards nomination total to six.

Other Latino/a nominees in this second wave include: Lea Michele, Noomi Rapace, Tyler Posey, Michael Trevino, Lana Parrilla, Francia Raisa and Pitbull.

Meanwhile, previously announced nominees Selena Gomez and Victoria Justice are some of the first presenters announced by event organizers.

The Teen Choice Awards air Sunday, July 22 on Fox. Voting ends at 11:59 p.m. PT on July 21.
