Selena Gomez’s Collaboration with Benny Blanco & The Marias Reaches No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Pop Airplay Chart

Selena Gomez has nothing to be triste about…

Four months after its No. 1 debut on Billboard’s inaugural Hot Latin Pop Songs chart, the 33-year-old Mexican American actress and singer’s track “Ojos Tristes,” featuring benny blanco and The Marias, tops an airplay chart for the first time, as the song jumps 2-1 on the Latin Pop Airplay chart.

Selena Gomez“Ojos Tristes” claims the No. 1 spot with 8.3 million audience impressions earned in the United States during the August 8-14 tracking week, according to Luminate; that’s a 21% growth from the prior week.

“Ojos Tristes” first bowed at No. 1 on the introductory Hot Latin Pop Songs chart dated April 12, largely fueled by 8.7 million official on-demand U.S. streams. The chart employs the same methodology as the multi-metric Hot Latin Songs chart, where streaming data, airplay audience and digitals sales are included into its formula.

During that chart-topping week, the three-way collab also generated 1,000 downloads and retained its spot at the summit on Latin Digital Songs Sales, despite a substantial 40% decline in sales.

Now, four months later, “Ojos Tristes” has become the biggest song on Latin pop stations across the U.S. after a 17-week journey to the top.

The achievement matches with Farruko’s “Cables Cruzados” (February 22), marking it the longest trek to the top on Latin Pop Airplay in 2025 and the slowest ascent since Carlos Vives and Juanes’ “Las Mujeres” also took 17 weeks to claim the top slot in December 2023.

Gomez finds her third leader on the chart, following her featured turn on DJ Snake’s “Taki Taki,” which also features Ozuna and Cardi B (2018) and “Baila Conmigo,” with Rauw Alejandro (2021).

As for benny blanco and The Marias, they each claim their first No. 1 on Latin Pop Airplay through “Ojos Tristes,” the fourth single from Gomez’s and blanco’s collaborative project, I Said I Love You First. The set took the pair to a No. 2 debut on the overall Billboard 200 (April 5 list).

Building on its success atop the Latin Pop Airplay chart, “Ojos Tristes” makes progress on the overall Latin Airplay chart, where it climbs from No. 6 to No. 3, a new peak. This is Gomez’s highest position on the chart since her No. 1-peaking “Baila Conmigo” in 2021.

Returning to where “Ojos Tristes” first began its reign, the song secures a 13th week at No. 1 on Hot Latin Pop Songs.

Selena Gomez Partners with Oreo to Release New Horchata-Flavored Cookie & Exclusive Remix Single

Selena Gomez is giving “America’s Best-Loved Cookie” some Latin flavor.

The 32-year-old Mexican American singer/actress has partnered with Oreo to release a new flavor — and a song to go with it.

Selena Gomez x OreoThe exclusive cookie flavor was dreamt up by Gomez and the Oreo team, inspired by the “Calm Down” singer’s love of horchata.

The collaborative dessert is a one-of-a-kind sweet-and-spiced flavor combo, featuring a layer of rich chocolate and cinnamon creme all atop a layer of sweetened condensed milk-flavor creme with cinnamon sugar inclusions.

All this is sandwiched between two chocolate cinnamon flavored wafers. Simply put, the flavor is inspired by Gomez’s childhood favorites.

“Horchata is a comforting flavor to me. It brings back many memories with my family and has such a nostalgic experience. It’s always been one of my absolute favorites,” Gomez tells Billboard.

Selena Gomez x OreoEach cookie is embossed with a design made with her fans in mind.

An exclusive cookie can be found in approximately every three packs that features Selena’s signature a la Willy Wonka. Along with the cookie drop, Gomez and Oreo Brand are dropping an exclusive remix of “I Can’t Get Enough” that’s just as sweet as the cookies themselves.

“This song will always have a special place in my heart for obvious reasons. When Benny [Blanco] and I were working on our album, we knew the song was part of our story and would be included on the album,” Gomez elaborates of her collab album I Said I Love You First with her fiancé, Blanco. “We wanted to give the fans something fun to go with the Oreo collaboration and this song made the most sense thematically. The remix feels a bit more playful than the original. I really like the faster tempo too. I think it goes well with the summer and being outside.”

Now here’s the most important info: How does Gomez eat her Oreos? Everyone has a specific way of doing it, and the singer’s method is quite unique. “For some reason, I love to eat them with a fork dunked in milk,” she shares. “Not sure how or why I even started doing it that way. I recently shared a very old photo of me eating one with a fork. Highly recommend trying it.”

Gomez’s limited-edition Oreo cookies arrived on June 2 and will be available only for a limited time, while supplies last.

“I do love Oreo cookies. I only want to do partnerships that are authentic to me. That’s why this partnership from the creation of the cookie, to giving my fans something special with the remix which you can listen to by scanning my signature Oreo cookie,” Gomez says. “In addition, Oreo is making a donation to the Rare Impact Fund, which is incredibly important to me.”

The cookie packs are available worldwide in Canada, Brazil, Australia and New Zealand.
