Joan Smalls Signs with M88

Joan Smalls has new representation…

The 33-year-old Puerto Rican supermodel and actress has signed with M88.

Joan SmallsSmalls began modeling in 2007 and exploded onto the runway scene after walking in the Spring/Summer 2010 Givenchy Couture show.

A year later, she made history as Estée Lauder’s first Latina brand ambassador.

She’s also the face of David Yurman and Ralph Lauren.

In 2012, Smalls was awarded the title of “Model of the Year” at the ninth annual Style Awards and has been ranked the No. 1 model in the world on models.com.

In 2013, she entered Forbes magazine’s “World’s Highest-Paid Models” list for the first time, ranking at number eight with over $3 million in earnings.

Now as one of the most sought after supermodels, she’s partnered with major global brands like Marc Jacobs, Stuart Weitzman, Moschino, Calvin Klein, Chanel, Hugo Boss, Tom Ford and Gucci.

Smalls has also been honing her craft as an actress working in 2017’s John Wick: Chapter 2 for Lionsgate and in Netflix’s hit romantic comedy Set It Up a year later.

On the small screen, she’s appeared in RuPaul’s Drag RaceLip Sync Battle, and Movie Night with Karlie Kloss.

Aside from her modeling career, she gives back to the community via involvement in various non-profit organizations, like The Fifteen Percent Pledge.

Smalls will continue to be represented by IMG and WME.

Gisele Bündchen: Forbes’ Highest-Paid Latina Model

She may not top the list, but Gisele Bündchen is still on top…

After 15-years as the world’s highest-paid model, the 37-year-old Brazilian supermodel drops to No. 2 on Forbes’ yearly list of the highest-paid models, behind Kendall Jenner.

But Bündchen is still standing tall, as the high-ranking Latina on the list, with earnings totaling $17.5 million.

Despite retiring from the runway in 2015, she still makes millions from contracts, including a lucrative fragrance deal with Carolina Herrera, as well as campaigns for Arezzo shoes and Vivara jewelry in her native country.

Bündchen has appeared on more than 1,200 magazine covers in her two-decade career, and she earned more money than any other model between 2002 – 2016.

The only other Latina in the Top 10, Bündchen’s compatriot Adriana Lima.

The 36-year-old Brazilian supermodel, the longest-running Angel in Victoria’s Secret history, comes in at No. 4 with earnings of $10.5 million.

Lima first strutted her stuff for Victoria’s Secret in 2000. Her seniority earns her a supersized deal with the lingerie maker.

She’s also the face of Sportmax and Marc Jacobs fragrances, and she hosts the hair and makeup competition show American Beauty Star on Lifetime.

Herrera’s Limited Edition Designs Headed to Target

She’s one of the most iconic Hispanic designers in the world of fashion… And, now Carolina Herrera is preparing to share her designs with a wider audience.

The 73-year-old Venezuelan-American designer, who designed Kristen Stewart’s character Bella in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part I, has signed on to participate in a joint partnership between Target and Neiman Marcus.

The discount retailer is collaborating with the luxury department store on a holiday collection from 24 noted designers that will span from fashion to sporting goods.

More than 50 products from 24 designers, including Oscar de la Renta and Robert Rodriguez, will be available until they sell out. Items in the collection will cost from $7.99 to $499.99, but most will sell for less than $60.

“We definitely have our differences,” Kathee Tesija, Target’s executive vice president of merchandising, said of her company and Neiman Marcus. “They’re high end, and we’re mass appeal. But we both love design.”

Mars Becomes the Tenth Man to Grace Playboy’s Cover

Bruno Mars is livin’ it up at the ten spot; and he’s got plenty of reason to celebrate…

The 26-year-old half-Puerto Rican singer/songwriter joins an elite group of men as only the tenth male to grace the cover of Playboy.

Bruno Mars Playboy Cover

Mars is featured in the men’s magazine’s April Sex and Music issue, out March 16. He appears on the cover alongside Raquel Pomplun, as well as in a fashion pictorial and interview inside. In his feature, Mars models spring designs by Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton, Dolce & Gabbana and more.

“Growing up in the showbiz world, I looked up to those guys: Frank Sinatra and of course Elvis Presley,” the Grammy-winning singer told Playboy of his idols. “My dad was into the 1950s doo-wop era. If you look at those groups, or at James Brown, Jackie Wilson and the Temptations in the 1960s, you’ll see you had to be sharp onstage.”

Mars displays his signature style and dresses sharply for his photo spread while donning his own personal Armani suit on the cover.

Surprisingly, the “Grenade” singer chose Jimi Hendrix, not Sinatra or Presley, as the musician he would most like to work with if given the opportunity.

“I think he’s the greatest guitar player in the world, and I would want to see him do his thing in person,” Mars said. “He’s the reason I picked up a guitar in the first place.”

As a Playboy cover star, Mars follows in the footsteps of several Hollywood icons. Peter Sellers was the first Y-chromosome to appear on the cover back in April 1967, followed by Burt Reynolds (October 1979), Steve Martin (January 1980), Donald Trump (March 1990), Dan Aykroyd (August 1993), Jerry Seinfeld (October 1993), Leslie Nielson (February 1996), Gene Simmons (March 1999) and Seth Rogen (April 2009).
