Romero Hard at Work on English and Spanish Projects

Fernanda Romero is setting out to be a crossover queen…

The 30-year-old Mexican actress and singer, who just finished starring in the highly acclaimed film El Fantastico Mundo de Juan Oro by Sebastian del Amo, has a number of projects to premiere in Spanish and English, as she hopes to make her mark in the entertainment world on both sides of the border.

Romero is currently appearing in Chamacas, a comedy show on the Hispanic online entertainment channel Nuevon, which is broadcast on YouTube and is the property of actress Sofia Vergara.

She’s also just wrapped production of the English-language films Ghost Team One, a supernatural adventure, and Mission Park, the story of four close friends who head off in very different directions. Addtionally, Romero’s romantic comedy Pendejo, in which she stars opposite Raja Fenske, Danny Trejo, Laksh Singh and others was recently released on DVD.

“I feel blessed by all the projects coming my way. I believe you start sowing and suddenly all those little seeds start to flower. But you can’t sit back and rest – you have to keep giving your all and opening new doors,” Romero, born and raised in Mexico City, told Efe.

Romero’s credits include El alma herida, La ley del silencio, The Eye and a guest-starring role on Entourage.

Camacho Sharing His Search for Love on YouTube’s NuevOn Channel

Hector “Macho” Camacho is looking for love on the internet… And, he’s letting the cameras follow his every date.

The 50-year-old Puerto Rican former professional boxer will be getting his own program on YouTube’s NuevOn channel that will give his fans a chance to follow Camacho as he looks for a new love, according to his representatives.

Es…Macho Time, filmed in Puerto Rico, Miami and Las Vegas, will follow the adventures of the boxer during the process of finding the woman of his dreams.

Camacho admits the road to finding a new love is long and arduous, but he’s committed to doing what’s needed to correct the mistakes of the past that have prevented him from finding that special someone, his publicist said in a statement.

Camacho was the first Puerto Rican boxerto win the lightweight division titles of the World Boxing Council and the World Boxing Organization, and he won 79 of his 87 bouts, 38 of them by knockout.

Two of his most important victories of his storied career came against Roberto Duran and Sugar Ray Leonard.

Es…Macho Time is one of the new programs for the second season of NuevOn, which was launched on April 1 and features shows such as the one starring Sofia Vergara’s son, Mi vida con Toty, and the motivational show Yes you can with Chaban, hosted by artist Alejandro Chaban.

Valderrama Signs Talent Deal with 20th Century Fox Television

Wilmer Valderrama could soon return to the small screen full-time…

The 32-year-old Venezuelan/Colombian American actor has signed a one-year development and talent holding deal with 20th Century Fox Television.

As part of the deal, the studio will develop a television project for the former That ‘70s Show actor to star in and produce.

Valderrama will reportedly start meeting with writers next week to consider potential comedy and drama projects. He could also bring his own show ideas or elect to join a project already in development at the studio.

Should the project Valderrama gets attached to not get a pick up, the studio has the option to cast him in another pilot for next season.

Valderrama, who recently starred on the studio’s NBC drama series Awake, has had a similar development/holding deal in the past.

He’s already set to guest star on the 20th/Fox comedy series Raising Hope where he’ll play Melanie Griffith’s boyfriend.

“Wilmer is that great cousin who is funny and charming and talented, and you want him to come to every gathering,” said 20th Television’s head of casting Sharon Klein. “He is a breath of fresh air, all light and fun and smart.”

Along with his acting work on recent shows like Suburgatory and Are You There, Chelsea?, the actor is creator/executive producer of MTV Tr3s’ Ricardo Laguna Project and the webseries King Of The Floor for the YouTube channel NuevOn.

He’ll next be seen in Spike Lee’s The Girl Is In Trouble.

Chabán to Host & Produce a Web-Based Healthy Living Talk Show

He’s written about his own childhood struggle with obesity… And, now Alejandro Chabán is taking his healthy eating message to the internet.

The 30-year-old Venezuelan actor and writer—who wrote a book entitled De Gordo a Galan, where he opened up about his suicide attempt due to his obesity—will executive produce and host an informative and motivational talk show on YouTube’s NuevOn channel.

Entitled Yes, You Can with Chabán, the talk show will seek to inform and inspire the public to improve their quality of life.

“This it is my greatest dream, the mission of my life to bring to the young public a message about my way of living healthy and that they have a weekly resource with my show that will live there on YouTube 24 hours a day, seven days a week, available always to help them” says Chabán, who has starred in various telenovelas, as well as guest-starred on Monk.

In each episode, Chabán will use elements related to food, as well as parts comedy, parts drama and parts of reality television to educate people on how to lead a healthy life.

“To lose weight, to get in shape and learn about nutrition doesn’t have to be boring, on the contrary,” says Chabán. “My showwill be directed to that web audience on YouTube that does not only want to lose weight, but stay healthy and educate their brothers and sisters, children and families on living a healthy and happy life.”

Yes, You Can with Chabán will premiere on Monday, April 16 on YouTube.

Vergara’s Son to Release Documentary Featuring His Famous Mom

It’s a real life case of “Todo sobre mi madre”… Manolo Gonzalez, the son of Modern Family star Sofia Vergara, is preparing to shed light on his life with the Colombian actress…

The 20-year-old Colombian film student will be releasing an online documentary that offers a revealing and entertaining look at the circumstances that brought him and his mother from Barranquilla, Colombia, to Hollywood.

The documentary will be broadcast on NuevOn, the new Hispanic-themed channel on YouTube, on April 15.

NuevOn will produce 10 episodes of Mi Vida con Toty—as Vergara is known to family and close friends. The humorous documentary will include never-before-seen home videos.

“I’m thrilled at this opportunity to work with NuevOn and use all those videos that I was filming for years … that prove that my mom is more interesting and funny in real life than any show,” said Manolo, who over the past five years has been documenting his and his mother’s as a hobby.

In the first episodes, viewers will be able to see the Modern Family set and journey to Barranquilla, where they will hear the remarks of his mother’s schoolmates and teachers.
