Nolasco to Reprise His Role on Fox’s “Prison Break” Event Series

Amaury Nolasco is heading back behind bars…

The 45-year-old Puerto Rican actor has confirmed via Instagram that he’ll reprise his role of Fernando Sucre opposite fellow returning stars Sarah Wayne Callies, Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell in Fox’s Prison Break event series.

Production is set to begin next month in Vancouver on the nine-episode follow-up to the cult 2005 Fox action series.

The original Prison Break, which ran for four seasons, centered on Michael (Miller), who went to prison to try and save his convicted brother Lincoln (Purcell) by hatching an elaborate escape plan.

In the drama’s new chapter, which picks up after Michael’s apparent death, Sara (Callies) has moved on with her life, raising her and Michael’s child with her new husband (Mark Feuerstein). When clues surface suggesting that Michael may be alive, Sara teams with Lincoln to engineer the series’ biggest escape ever.

Deals are pending for the other returning original players, Robert Knepper, Paul Adelstein and Rockmond Dunbar.

Gallegos’ “American Sniper” Breaks All-Time Christmas Day Record at the Box Office

The Latino actor’s latest film project, American Sniper, has launched impressively in its Christmas Day debut.

Warner Bros.’ “Sniper,” starring Bradley Cooper and Sienna Miller, has a stellar performance with $240,212 at four venues — breaking the all-time record for a limited release under 10 screens on Christmas Day.

It played in Dallas, Los Angeles and New York.

Clint Eastwood directed the R-rated American Sniper from a script by Jason Hall, based on Chris Kyle’s autobiography about his tour of duty in Iraq and his struggles as a father and husband.

Warner Bros. will expand American Sniper into a nationwide release on January 16 — the day after Oscar nominations are announced.

Gallegos stars as Tony in the film.

His previous credits include Gang Related, Sons of Anarchy, 24, Prison Break, NYPD Blue, Castle, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and NCIS: Los Angeles.

 

His feature film credits include Bad Boys II, Rambo 4 and  Spider-Man 3.

DirecTV Releases First Trailer for “Kingdom,” Starring Sanchez

DirecTV has released the first trailer for its upcoming MMA-themed drama series Kingdom, starring the 37-year-old half-Puerto Rican actress.

Previously titled Navy St., the 10-episode drama is described as a gritty family drama set in the Mixed Martial Arts world.

Frank Grillo (Prison Break) stars as Alvey Kulina, an MMA legend and owner of a Venice California-based Mixed Martial Arts gym.

Nick Jonas, formerly of the Jonas Brothers, plays Alvey’s close-shaved and ripped prize-fighter son Nate. Jonathan Tucker (The Ruins, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) plays Nate’s younger brother, a world-class athlete who lost everything. And Kiele Sanchez (Lost, The Glades, The Purge: Anarchy) plays Alvey’s current girlfriend Lisa Prince, while Joanna Going (House of Cards) plays Alvey’s ex-wife Christina.

Kingdom premieres October 8 at 9:00 pm ET exclusively on DIRECTV’s Audience, channel 239.

NBC Acquires U.S. broadcast rights to EuropaCorp Television‘s “Taxi Brooklyn,” Starring José Zúñiga

NBC has acquired the U.S. broadcast rights to EuropaCorp Television‘s action/comedy series Taxi Brooklyn, starring the Honduran-born American actor.

The 12-episode series, based on Luc Besson‘s Taxi feature film franchise, stars Grey’s Anatomy alumna Chyler Leigh and Inglourious BasterdsJacky Ido.

Leigh portrays Detective Caitlyn “Cat” Sullivan, who is determined to find out the truth about the death of her father, an New York PD detective who was killed in the line of duty. When her stubborn character and recklessness behind the wheel see her demoted to foot patrol, she teams with the highly skilled and charming Marseille-born cabbie Leo Romba. Realizing Leo lied on his immigration form, Cat offers him a deal: in exchange for his driving prowess and taxi, she will help Leo with his papers situation. He becomes her personal driver and police consultant as they race through the streets of New York City solving cases.

Formerly known as Taxi: Brooklyn South, Taxi Brooklyn was shot in English in the titular borough along with Manhattan and Queens.

No word on Zúñiga’s character in the series, which NBC plans to debut the series this summer.

Former Blue Bloods co-star Jennifer Esposito, Ally Walker, James Colby, Bill Heck and Raul Casso round out the cast.

The series hails from EuropaCorp Television with the participation of France’s TF1 which starts airing the series April 14.

Zúñiga’s previous television credits include 24, Prison Break, CSI: Miami, The Event, Scandal, Person of Interest and Dexter.

Nunez to Appear in ABC’s Comedy Pilot “The Winklers”

From Everybody Loves Raymond creator Phil Rosenthal; Henry Winkler’s son, director Max Winkler; and son-in-law, actor Rob Reinis, The Winklers centers on Jack (portrayed by Domenick Lombardozzi), an emotionally reserved construction worker who learns about love, life and hugs while unexpectedly living with his in-laws — successful actor Henry (portrayed by Henry Winkler) and Tita Winkler (Judith Light), the fabulous, fierce momma bear of the family.

The comedy pilot is based on Henry Winkler’s relationship with his son-in-law, Reinis.

Nunez will portray Paco, a construction worker on Jack’s crew whose secret passion is dance.

Nunez is best known for his recurring role as Manche Sanchez on the show Prison Break.

His film credits include The 40-Year-Old Virgin, The Pursuit of Happyness and Bridesmaids.

Cruz to Appear in Recurring Role on El Rey Network’s “Matador”

The 31-year-old Mexican-American actor, producer and filmmaker has landed a recurring role on Robert Rodriguez’s El Rey Network’s Matador.

Created by Bob Orci and Alex Kurtzman, the action drama series chronicles the unlikely rise of Antonio “Matador” Bravo (portrayed by Gabriel Luna), a popular soccer star who in reality uses his sports career as a cover for his real job: a skilled covert operative executing missions for a little-known branch of the CIA.

Cruz will portray Ricky Bravo, Tony’s younger brother who’s currently in prison.

Cruz’s previous television credits include appearances on General Hospital, Prison Break, The Closer and Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23.

Gallegos to Star in Clint Eastwood’s New Film “American Sniper”

The Latino actor, one of the stars of Fox’s upcoming action-drama Gang Related, has joined the cast of the legendary actor-turned-director’s latest film American Sniper.

Starring Bradley Cooper as decorated marksman Chris Kyle, the film is based on Kyle’s memoir American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History.

Gallegos will portray Tony, chief of a U.S. Navy SEALs team and one of the instructors during Kyle’s training.

In addition to Cooper and Gallegos, the film also stars Navid Negahban, Eric Close and Eric Ladin.

Filming on the Warner Bros. project is set to start at the end of March in Morocco.

Gallegos’ previous credits include appearances on Sons of Anarchy, Castle, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Saving Grace, Cold Case, 24 and Prison Break.

The 42-year-old Puerto Rican actor will guest star in at least one episode of the network’s gritty drama Gang Related, which stars Ramon Rodriguez.

Gang Related centers on Ryan Lopez (Charlie’s Angels’ Rodriguez), a rising star in an elite Gang Task Force who once belonged to a powerful Latino gang.

Nolasco, who rose to acclaim on Fox’s Prison Break, joins the thriller as Mariano, a quiet, ruthless, terrifying sociopath who heads up a cartel.

Nolasco’s most recent TV credits include ABC’s short-lived Work It and TNT’s Rizzoli & Isles.

Saundra Santiago, Terry O’Quinn (Lost), Jay Hernandez (Nashville), RZA (Californication), Shantel VanSanten (One Tree Hill), Lela Loren, Cliff Curtis (Trauma), Sung Kang (Fast & Furious), Inbar Lavi (Underemployed) and Reynaldo Gallegos (Sons of Anarchy) round out the cast.

Velazquez Starring in the Indie Film “Sister”

The 34-year-old Puerto Rican actress has joined the cast of the indie drama Sister.

Inspired by true events, the story centers on a struggling, self-centered actor (portrayed by Reid Scott) forced to take custody of an 11-year-old adopted sister that he barely knows.

Velazquez, appearing in the second season of TNT’s Major Crimes, joins a cast that includes Illeana Douglas, Serinda Swan, John Heard and Barbara Hershey.

David Lascher is directing from a script he co-wrote with producer Todd Camhe.

Velazquez’s credits include television roles on Prison Break, My Name is Earl, Hart of Dixie and The League, as well as a breakout role in the film Flight with Denzel Washington.

Sister is currently filming in Los Angeles.

Guaty to Star in ABC’s Comedy Pilot “Spy”

The 34-year-old Puerto Rican & Cuban American actress has landed a role in ABC’s comedy pilot Spy.

The project centers on Tim (portrayed by Rob Corddry), a wellintentioned father of a highly intelligent and verbal son (Mason Cook) who inadvertently takes a job at the Secret Service in order to prove himself a worthy father.

Guaty will portray Caitlin, who is taking the CIA entrance exam along with Tim.

Her previous credits include a recurring role on The Vampire Diaries and The Chicago Code, as well as appearance on Drop Dead Diva, Prison Break and The Nine.
