Isabella Gomez Joins Cast of ABC’s “The Goldbergs” in Recurring Role

The 24-year-old Colombian-American actress, who starred in Netflix’s Latinx themed One Day at a Time reboot, has joined the cast of ABC’s The Goldbergs for Season 10 in a recurring role.

Isabella Gomez,Gomez will play Carmen, the new waitress at the 50s-themed diner where Adam (Sean Giambrone) is working at. She will make her debut in the episode titled “Million Dollar Reward,” written by Mike Sikowitz, airing on Wednesday, November 30, at 8:30 pm EST.

In the episode, Adam forgoes his weekly Mama-Schmoo dinner date to hang out with his new colleagues, which includes a new special lady. Beverly (Wendi McLendon-Covey) worried sick that Adam is running in too fast a crowd, pulls out the ultimate stop to end it all. Meanwhile, Barry (Troy Gentile) faces the harsh reality that medical school is tougher than anticipated.

With everyone living back under the same roof, Beverly is preparing for her new role as Grandsmotherer. As this new chapter unfolds, the Goldbergs continue to remind us that there is no bond greater than family, and there is nothing they can’t handle with each other’s support.

The series also stars Patton Oswalt as adult Adam Goldberg, Hayley Orrantia as Erica Goldberg, and Sam Lerner as Geoff Schwartz.

Gomez is best known for her performance as Elena on Netflix’s One Day at a Time, which earned her an Imagen Award for Best Supporting TV Actress.

Most recently, Gomez starred in the HBO Max series Head of the Class in the role of Alicia. Additionally, she appeared in Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe, and the feature Initiation.

In 2019, she starred in the Netflix feature A Cinderella Story: Christmas Wish. Prior to that, Gomez recurred on Matador on El Rey Network.

Wilson Cruz to Take Part in Classic “Superman” Radio Series Reenactments During Next Week’s ‘DC FanDome: Explore the Multiverse’ Virtual Event

The 46-year-old Puerto Rican actor will take part in Warner Bros. and The Creative Coalition’s reenactments of the 1940s Superman radio series to take place during DC FanDome: Explore the Multiverse on September 12. The acclaimed original long-running radio serial originally aired from 1940 to 1951.

The reenactments of the Superman radio series will be available all day during the virtual confab and feature an all-star roster of actors toplined by Cruz, who stars on Star Trek: Discovery, Tim Daly and Daniel Dae Kim as the Man of Steel himself.

Using original scripts from the long-running radio serial recently unearthed from the Warner Bros. Studios vault, this rare production will allow fans to experience one of their favorite superheros in a unique way.

Hayley Orrantia & Her “The Goldbergs” Cast Mates to Pay Homage to the ’80s Classic “National Lampoon’s Vacation”

The 25-year-old part-Mexican American actress/singer and her The Goldbergs cast mates will pay homage to the classic ‘80s film National Lampoon’s Vacation in its annual fall tribute premiere episode on September 25.

Christie Brinkley and Anthony Michael Hall have been tapped to guest star in the episode.

In “Vacation,” Beverly (Wendi McClendon-Covey) insists the family take a road trip to go on vacation to Disneyland in Anaheim, before Erica (Orrantia) and Barry (Troy Gentile) go off to college. But, like the film, things don’t go as planned as they travel across the country. Meanwhile, Erica worries more and more about her relationship with Geoff (Sam Lerner) when he teases “we need to talk” and won’t tell her anything until the family returns from their adventure.

Hall and Brinkley will guest star in roles to be announced at a later date.

The Goldbergs stars McLendon-Covey as Beverly Goldberg, Patton Oswaltas adult Adam Goldberg, Sean Giambrone as Adam Goldberg, Gentile as Barry Goldberg, Orrantia as Erica Goldberg, Sam Lerneras Geoff Schwartz with George Segalas Pops Solomon and Jeff Garlinas Murray Goldberg.

The Goldbergs Season 6 premieres at 8:00 pm Wednesday, September 25 on ABC.

Orrantia’s 80s-Themed Sitcom “The Goldbergs” to Air on the U.K.’s E4 Network

The 20-year-old part-Mexican American actress, singer-songwriter and former The X Factor contestant’s ABC sitcom The Goldbergs will start airing in the U.K. next year under a deal between Sony Pictures Television and British broadcaster Channel 4‘s E4 network, which targets younger viewers.

Financial details of the multi-season deal weren’t revealed. The first season is set to air in early 2015.

The Goldbergs premiered in the U.S. in September 2013 with an audience of more than 11 million, and the first season averaged 7 million viewers across its 23-episode run. The family comedy also stars Jeff Garlin, Wendi McLendon-Covey and George Segal.

The sitcom is based loosely on showrunner Adam Goldberg’s own upbringing in the 1980s and is told from the perspective of the youngest child Adam (Sean Giambrone).

The Goldbergs have already proved to be immensely popular with viewers in the U.S. with the show’s brilliant blend of humor, nostalgia and original storytelling.
