Isabella Gomez Joins Cast of ABC’s “The Goldbergs” in Recurring Role

The 24-year-old Colombian-American actress, who starred in Netflix’s Latinx themed One Day at a Time reboot, has joined the cast of ABC’s The Goldbergs for Season 10 in a recurring role.

Gomez will play Carmen, the new waitress at the 50s-themed diner where Adam (Sean Giambrone) is working at. She will make her debut in the episode titled “Million Dollar Reward,” written by Mike Sikowitz, airing on Wednesday, November 30, at 8:30 pm EST.

In the episode, Adam forgoes his weekly Mama-Schmoo dinner date to hang out with his new colleagues, which includes a new special lady. Beverly (Wendi McLendon-Covey) worried sick that Adam is running in too fast a crowd, pulls out the ultimate stop to end it all. Meanwhile, Barry (Troy Gentile) faces the harsh reality that medical school is tougher than anticipated.

Season 10 of the series celebrates the ‘80s while also welcoming a new season of life. With everyone living back under the same roof, Beverly is preparing for her new role as Grandsmotherer. As this new chapter unfolds, the Goldbergs continue to remind us that there is no bond greater than family, and there is nothing they can’t handle with each other’s support.

The series also stars Patton Oswalt as adult Adam Goldberg, Hayley Orrantia as Erica Goldberg, and Sam Lerner as Geoff Schwartz.

Doug Robinson, Alex Barnow, Chris Bishop, Annette Davis, Mike Sikowitz, David Guarascio, and Wendi McLendon-Covey are executive producers.

The Goldbergs is produced by Happy Madison and Doug Robinson Productions in association with Sony Pictures Television.

Gomez is best known for her performance as Elena on Netflix’s One Day at a Time, which earned her an Imagen Award for Best Supporting TV Actress.

Most recently, Gomez starred in the HBO Max series Head of the Class in the role of Alicia. Additionally, she appeared in Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe, and the feature Initiation.

In 2019, she starred in the Netflix feature A Cinderella Story: Christmas Wish. Prior to that, Gomez recurred on Matador on El Rey Network.

Paramount+ to Premiere “Reno 911: The Hunt for QAnon” with Carlos Alazraqui Next Month

Paramount+ has scheduled the premiere of the new Reno 911 special The Hunt For QAnon, starring the 59-year-old Argentine American actor, for Thursday, December 23.

On a mission to track down the one and only set Thursday, December 23, the one behind all QAnon conspiracies, Reno 911: The Hunt For QAnon follows the deputies from the Reno Sheriff’s Department as they get stuck at a QAnon convention at sea, ultimately escaping only to discover that they’ve landed at Jeffrey Epstein’s old island.

In addition to Alazraqui, the special stars the original Reno 911 cast, including Thomas Lennon, Robert Ben Garant, Kerri Kenney-Silver, Cedric Yarbrough, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Niecy Nash, Mary Birdsong and Ian Roberts.

Garant directs the special.

Quibi Renews Carlos Alazraqui’s “Reno 911!” Reboot for a Second Season

Carlos Alazraqui won’t stop serving and protecting… and bringing the funny… just yet.

Quibi has ordered a second season of its Emmy-nominated revival of acclaimed comedy series Reno 911!, starring the 58-year-old Argentine American actor.

The rebook, which debuted in early May, reunites the original cast. The second batch of Season 1’s 25 episodes bowed last week.

Reno 911! lets viewers ride along with the courageous men and women of the Reno Sheriff’s Department as they lay down the law and put it all on the line. The camera doesn’t blink — and when danger is near, the Reno Sheriff’s Department will be nearer.

In addition to Alazraqui, the core original cast of the mockumentary series includes Robert Ben Garant, Thomas Lennon, Kerri Kenney-Silver, Niecy Nash, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Cedric Yarbrough, Ian Roberts, Joe Lo Truglio and Mary Birdsong.

“We are thrilled about the pickup, but we’re even more thrilled about getting to leave our living rooms for the first time in five months,” series co-creators Lennon, Ben Garant and Kenney-Silver said in a joint statement.

Reno 911! ran for six seasons from 2003-09 on Comedy Central.

Reno 911! is vying for Primetime Emmys this month in two categories: Outstanding Short Form Comedy or Drama Series and Outstanding Actress in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series for Kenney-Silver.

Carlos Alazraqui is joining the force…

The 57-year-old Argentine American actor has been cast in Quibi and Comedy Central Productions’ Reno 911 reboot,starring co-creators Robert Ben Garant, Thomas Lennon, and Kerri Kenney-Silver.

Alazraqui portrayed deputy James Garcia on the original Reno 911!, which ran for six seasons on Comedy Central, ending in 2009

In addition to Alazraqui, the new additions include Niecy Nash, Wendi McLendon-Coveyand Cedric Yarbrough. Ian Roberts, Joe LoTruglioand Mary Birdsongwill all be featured.

Reno 911 is an ensemble comedy created by and starring Garant, Kenney-Silver and Lennon, all attached to write and star in the new season.

Reno 911let viewers ride shotgun with the “courageous” men and women of the Reno Sheriff’s Department.

Quibi launches April 6.

Alazraqui is also known for his voice work, including roles in Toy Story3, A Bug’s Lifeand The Book of Life.

Aimee Garcia Joins Voice Cast of Marvel’s “M.O.D.O.K.” at Hulu

Aimee Garciais joining the Marvel Universe…

The 41-year-old Puerto Rican and Mexican American actress will be part of the voice cast Marvel’s animated supervillain family sitcom M.O.D.O.K. at Hulu.

With executive producer Patton Oswalt starring as the constantly foiled Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing, the adult-centric comedy is set to debut this year on the Disney-controlled streamer.

She joins a list of newcomers to the animated series that includes Sam Richardson, Wendi McLendon-Coveyand Ben Schwartz.

“I’m blown away by our insanely talented and hilarious voice cast, who have all brought their specific kind of magic to this weird and wonderful corner of the Marvel Universe,” EP and showrunner Jordan Blumsaid of the additions to the series.

Karim Zreik, Marvel Television StudiosSVP Original Programming & Production added in a statement today: “Patton and Jordan have done a phenomenal job in laying the groundwork for this exceptional ensemble. We’re thrilled to include this cast in the Marvel family,”

M.O.D.O.K.follows the extremely dysfunctional home life of the ex-A.I.M. member, who made his comics premiere way back in 1967.

In addition to Richardson, McLendon-Covey, Schwartz and Garcia, the cast additions include Melissa Fumero, Beck Bennetand Jon Daly.

In Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K.,the megalomaniacal supervillain M.O.D.O.K. (Oswalt) has long pursued his dream of one day conquering the world. But after years of setbacks and failures fighting the Earth’s mightiest heroes, M.O.D.O.K. has run his evil organization A.I.M. into the ground. There are just too many things to do in this world and not enough time to waste being held back by negativity. And unfortunately for M.O.D.O.K., the thing weighing her down the most… is him.

Fumero will portray Melissa. Even with her father’s “features,” 17-year-old Melissa has risen the ranks to become the Heathers-like queen bee of her school and a star in the world of teen figure skating. Every popular kid either wants to date her or avoid her terrifying wrath. But for all of her success, Melissa secretly yearns for her father’s approval.

Garcia’s previous credits include television credits include George Lopez, Dexter, Vegasand Lucifer.

Guillen Starring in the Teen Comedy “Status Update”

Harvey Guillen is preparing for a status update…

The Latino actor is starring in Scott Speer’s teen comedy Status Update, which is currently in production in Vancouver.

The film, written by 17 Again scribe Jason Filardi, is billed as Big for the millennial generation and follows a high school kid, Kyle (Ross Lynch), who after being uprooted by the separation of his parents (Rob Riggle and Wendi McLendon-Covey) meets a foulmouthed mystical bearded guy (Josh Ostrovsky) who gives him a magical app that causes his social media updates to come true. As Kyle elevates to hero status at his new high school, his newfound powers abruptly backfire, sending him crashing back to earth.

Guillen is best known for his role in 2013’s The Internship, where he starred alongside Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson. He also starred opposite Victoria Justice in the MTV series Eye Candy.

ABC Orders Two More Episodes of Orrantia’s “The Goldbergs”

ABC has ordered two more episodes each of The Goldbergs, starring the 21-year-old Mexican-American actress/singer.

Now in its third season, The Goldbergs will have a second season of 24 episodes.

The series is is loosely based on show creator Adam Goldberg‘s childhood and family in the 1980s, complete with a childhood version of himself.

Produced by Sony Pictures Television, the show airs on Wednesdays at 8:30 pm.

It’s standard practice for the broadcast networks to order extra episodes from its strongest performers.

Orrantia’s 80s-Themed Sitcom “The Goldbergs” to Air on the U.K.’s E4 Network

The 20-year-old part-Mexican American actress, singer-songwriter and former The X Factor contestant’s ABC sitcom The Goldbergs will start airing in the U.K. next year under a deal between Sony Pictures Television and British broadcaster Channel 4‘s E4 network, which targets younger viewers.

Financial details of the multi-season deal weren’t revealed. The first season is set to air in early 2015.

The Goldbergs premiered in the U.S. in September 2013 with an audience of more than 11 million, and the first season averaged 7 million viewers across its 23-episode run. The family comedy also stars Jeff Garlin, Wendi McLendon-Covey and George Segal.

The sitcom is based loosely on showrunner Adam Goldberg’s own upbringing in the 1980s and is told from the perspective of the youngest child Adam (Sean Giambrone).

“The Goldbergs have already proved to be immensely popular with viewers in the U.S. with the show’s brilliant blend of humor, nostalgia and original storytelling. Following our recent sale of hit comedy Marry Me, it will make a great addition to E4’s new year programming,” said Mike Wald, executive VP international distribution for Sony Pictures Television:

ABC Renews Orrantia’s 80s-Themed Comedy “The Goldbergs” for a Second Season

Hayley Orrantia is like totally staying in the 80s…

ABC has renewed the 20-year-old part-Mexican American actress and singer-songwriter’s comedy series The Goldbergs for a second season.

Orrantia’s series was first of ABC’s current comedies to get an official pickup for next season.

The comedy, from Sony Pictures Television, performed well in its Tuesday 9:00 pm time slot.

The Goldbergs is set in the late 1980s and follows the Goldberg family. The series stars Jeff Garlin as husband Murray, Wendi McLendon-Coveyas wife Beverly, and their three children, including Orrantia’s character Erica. Adam, the youngest, documents their lives with his video camera.

The series is based on creator Adam F. Goldberg‘s childhood in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, during which he actually videotaped events, many of which are re-enacted throughout the program.

Orrantia rose to acclaim as a member of Lakoda Rayne, an all-girl group that made it to the Top 9 on the first season on The X Factor in the U.S.

New Trailer Released for Thorne’s “Blended,” Starring Adam Sandler & Drew Barrymore

It’s an African vacation of comical proportions for Bella Thorne…

The latest trailer has been released for the 16-year-old half-Cuban American actress and former Disney Channel star’s latest film Blended.

Starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore in their third onscreen pairing, the comedy follows two single parents who endured a painfully bad blind date and later happen to sign their kids up for the same African safari vacation — and end up sharing a suite for a week.

In the new trailer, Thorne’s character gets beauty advice and a makeover from Barrymore’s character.

In addition to Thorne, Sandler and Barrymore, the film also stars Joel McHale, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Kevin Nealon and Terry Crews.

Blended opens in theaters on May 23.
