Morena Baccarin will be migrating this January.
Greenland 2: Migration, starring the 46-year-old Brazilian actress and Gerard Butler, will be released on January 9, 2026 via Lionsgate.
The original Greenland was set for release by STX Entertainment when it was in its full operation.
The film was sidelined by the COVID-19 pandemic but hobbled through, nabbing a $20 million-$30 million HBO streaming deal stateside, and also getting a release abroad where theaters were open, notching No. 1 in 26 countries including Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and Russia to gross more than $52M internationally.
Greenland 2: Migration is produced by Anton, STX Entertainment, Thunder Road Pictures and G-base Entertainment. STX is handling international distribution of Greenland 2: Migration through its global network of partners.
In part 2, the Garrity family (Butler, Baccarin and Roman Griffith Davis) are forced to leave the safety of their bunker in Greenland to traverse a shattered world in search of a new home.
The film also stars Amber Rose Revah, Sophie Thompson, Trond Fausa Aurvåg and William Abadie.
Greenland: Migration is directed by Ric Roman Waugh, written by Mitchell LaFortune and Chris Sparling.
Baccarin’s breakout role came in 2011 as a POW’s wife on the Showtime series Homeland.
