Peso Pluma Reveals Track List for New Album “Éxodo,” Featuring All-Star Collaborators

The 24-year-old Mexican singer-songwriter has revealed the track list for his new album, Éxodo, a 24-song double album that features Cardi B, Anitta, Quavo, DJ Snake and other all-star collaborators.OK

Éxodo, the follow-up to Peso’ Plumas Grammy-winning debut album Génesis, is comprised of 16 songs in the same style as the música Mexicana that helped launch his career, and eight urbano (reggaeton, Latin trap etc.) songs.

Peso Pluma had a big look in in the lead-up to and after the release of his debut record, the third regional Mexican LP to hit the Top 10 (No. 3) of the Billboard 200.

The album’s release date of June 20 was revealed in a music video teaser for “La Durango” that stars Connor McGregor.

Peso Pluma recently appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and performed his new song “La Durango” with Eslabon Armado’s Pedro Tovar.

He’s also gearing up for a tour across North America with festival slots in New York, Chicago and Mexico.

Anitta Gives Debut TV Performance of “Me Gusta,” Featuring Cardi B & Myke Towers, on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

Less than a week after released her new single “Me Gusta” in collaboration with Cardi B and Myke Towers, the 27-year-old Brazilian singer/songwriter performed the song for the first time on television on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

On the episode that aired Wednesday, September 23, Anitta performed the captivating bop on top of a starry mountain in Rio de Janeiro. Anitta, who showed off her distinguishable vocals and twerking skills, was joined by a group of six dancers, all wearing matching animal print bodysuits and face masks.

Cardi B and Towers joined the presentation in hologram format.

“Me Gusta” is part of Anitta’s upcoming studio album Girl From Rio, produced by Ryan Tedder, out later this year.

Miranda Contributes Cantina Music for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”

The 35-year-old Puerto Rican actor, composer and writer, currently earning raves on Broadway for his latest award-winning musical, Hamilton, has partnered with Star Wars’ latest direct J.J. Abrams to make some music.

Theater and sci-fi geeks alike freaked when Abrams let the news slip on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon (Nov. 30), revealing that Miranda will be lending his talents to new cantina music for Episode VII, aka Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

“I go to see [Hamilton] with our son and at intermission, Lin-Manuel Miranda comes up to me and says, ‘Hey if you need music for the [Star Wars] Cantina, I’ll write it,” recalls Abrams. He notes that composer John Williams, who helmed the original cantina scene in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, declined to tackle the task this go-round.

Miranda, who’s Hamilton is currently dominating Broadway — and the Billboard charts — with its R&B, pop and rap-influenced take on the story of Alexander Hamilton, described the process via Twitter.

“We did. Worked on it between 6pm & 7:30 on 2 show days for the past 2 months. JJ is the best. Can’t wait to see,” tweeted the In The Heights creator to his followers.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in theaters in three weeks (opening December18).

Miranda is responsible for Disney’s upcoming animated film Moana. His other composing credits include The Electric Company and Sesame Street.
