Rosalía Performs “MOTOMAMI” Tracks in “Saturday Night Live” Musical Guest Debut

Rosalía is celebrating a special American television debut…

The 28-year-old Spanish Grammy-winning singer/songwriter made her official Saturday Night Live musical guest debut on Saturday, March 12, performing two all-Spanish songs from her upcoming album MOTOMAMI.

RosaliaRosalia’s visit to Studio 8H included a sassy delivery of her new dance-ready Latin trap song “Chicken Teriyaki” and a theatrical solo take on “La Fama,” her collaboration with The Weeknd.

Both tracks form part of Rosalía’s new album, MOTOMAMI, which is slated for release on March 18 through Columbia Records.

The upcoming project follows her 2018 Latin Grammy-winning El Mal Querer, which reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Pop Albums chart and won five Latin Grammys, including album of the year and best contemporary pop vocal album.

This marked Rosalía’s second appearance on the SNL stage. Last year, she made a cameo alongside Bad Bunny for a duet of their romantic collaboration “La Noche De Anoche.”

Earlier in the week, Rosalía made her U.S. talk show debut with an appearance on The Tonight Show. During the episode, the singer briefly spoke about her forthcoming album. “I feel like MOTOMAMI is an energy,” she said, jokingly dubbing Fallon a “motopapi.”

Karol G to Make Acting Debut on Netflix Series

Karol G is ready to make her acting debut…

The 30-year-old Colombian reggaeton singer will be starring soon in a Netflix series, she revealed a day after winning a Latin Grammy for best reggaeton performance for “Bichota.”

Karol G

“I have a lot of things that I want to do in my life,” she told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show. “I want to push myself as a woman and see how far I can go in everything.”

During the interview, Karol G teased her forthcoming onscreen venture.

“I’m going to act,” she spilled. “I have a surprise for my people in January. I’m going to start shooting a series for Netflix. It’s not about my life. I’m acting. I have a character, so I’m preparing myself for that.”

She’s already hired an acting coach and enrolled in business classes because she thinks of herself as not just an artist, but a brand.

“Artists aren’t really idols anymore,” she previously said to Billboard for its Latin issue in September. “Now it’s all about moments. If your song is a hit, they’ll talk about you, but because the industry is so saturated, they’ll forget about you when a new artist comes along. Selena died more than 20 years ago, but her albums are still charting, she’s still getting awards. That’s a legacy. My goal now is to create a product that will connect with many people and for people to remember me.”

Karol’s new Latin Grammy for best reggaeton performance is her second award from the Latin Recording Academy, after taking home best new artist in 2018.

The holiday classic sports gains of 6% to 23 million in radio airplay audience, 15% to 18.5 million U.S. streams and 34% to 3,000 sold, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.

Feliciano adds his second Hot 100 top 10, after his debut entry, his cover of The Doors‘ “Light My Fire,” hit No. 3 in August 1968. (The Doors‘ original ruled for three weeks in the summer of 1967.) He has charted 11 total Hot 100 entries, as well as 16 titles, including eight top 10s, on the Hot Latin Songs chart.

José Feliciano’s classic Christmas song is celebrating a major musical milestone…

The 75-year-old Puerto Rican musician, singer and composer’s “Feliz Navidad” turns 50 this year, with no signs of age.

Jose Feliciano

The classic Christmas song is one of the top 10-performing hits in the decade-plus history of Billboard‘s Holiday 100 chart, and one of the most popular Latin songs of all time.

Recorded in 1970, “Feliz Navidad” is a marvel in many ways.

“It just came to me; there’s no rhyme or reason,” he recently told Billboard. “The first lyric came to me, then I put the English lyric into it, not realizing I had made it the only bilingual Christmas song ever in the world. I created a monster.”

Feliciano stopped by The Tonight Show earlier this week to perform his timeless hit.

Horatio Sanz Reunites with Former SNL Castmates for “I Wish It Was Christmas Today” Performance on “The Tonight Show”

Horatio Sanz is spreading holiday cheer…

The 49-year-old Chilean-American actor and comedian reunited with his former Saturday Night Live cast mates Jimmy Fallon, Tracy Morgan and Chris Kattan for an encore performance of their low-tech, yet festive tune “I Wish It Was Christmas Today” on The Tonight Show, alongside pop diva Ariana Grande.

Horatio Sanz

Donning holiday sweaters in a makeshift Winter Wonderland, it was as if the audience was transported to 2000 when the quartet performed the song for the first time on SNL

With Sanz on lead vocals and Fallon on keys and backup, they awkwardly jammed out with Kattan and Morgan who were basically just there for low-impact dancing.

Grande was also there but in a moral support capacity. All she did was stand behind Kattan as he carried out his duties as designated keyboard holder.

She bounced with them and stared at the camera longingly as if she was taking a series of pouty Instagram selfies.

Quintana Teaches Jimmy Fallon Spanish as a Special Thank You

If Jose Quintana decides to leave baseball, he could become a maestro

The Chicago White Sox left-hander appeared on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” teaching the late-night host a few Spanish phrases — some more useful than others — as a thank you for Fallon’s role in Quintana picking up English.

Jimmy Fallon & Jose Quintana

Quintana said he learned English by watching Fallon’s show, and now the 28-year-old Colombian pitcher regularly does interviews in English.

“I arrived in this country and watched your shows,” Quintana told Fallon. “So funny.”

Quintana taught Fallon how to introduce himself in Spanish, to tell people he hosts “The Tonight Show” and to ask others, “Can you pay for my thong?”

Fallon, a Boston Red Sox fan, attended the New York Yankees game against the White Sox on Tuesday night.

White Sox manager Rick Renteria watched “The Tonight Show” clip with his wife and called it “pretty funny.”

“He’s trying to get outside of the box, make sure that people see him as a well-rounded individual,” Renteria said of Quintana. “Hopefully, that’s an example for everyone else to get out there and relax and take advantage of some of the opportunities they’re going to be getting.

“I’ll tell you, he did a nice job with it.”
