Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias to Star on Season Two of Disney+’s “The Santa Clauses”

It’s a case of clause and effect for Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias. 

The 46-year-old Mexican American comedian/actor is joining the cast of Disney+‘s The Santa Clauses as a series regular.

Gabriel IglesiasIglesias will play Kris Kringle, the owner and operator of a Christmas-themed amusement park called Santaland. Sweet, happy, and perpetually-optimistic, Kris is a warm, generous soul who is determined to keep his struggling theme park afloat. However, his belief in Santa and love for all things Christmas may not be enough.

In the second season, the Calvin family is back in the North Pole as Scott Calvin (Tim Allen) continues his role as Santa Claus after retirement plans were thwarted when failing to find a worthy successor in season one. Now that Scott and his family have successfully saved Christmas, Scott turns his focus towards training his son Calvin to eventually take over the family business as Santa Claus.

Also returning as series regulars in season two are Elizabeth Mitchell as Mrs. Claus/Carol, Elizabeth Allen-Dick as Sandra Calvin Claus, Austin Kane as Cal Calvin Claus, and Devin Bright as Santa’s elf bestie Noel. Matilda Lawler will reprise her role of Santa’s chief of staff, Betty, as a recurring guest star.

Additional guest stars include newcomer Marta Kessler as Olga, a surly, take-no-prisoners gnome who is a sidekick to Magnus Antas (Eric Stonestreet), aka The Mad Santa; along with returning guest stars Liam Kyle as Gary, Isabella Bennett as Edie, Sasha Knight as Crouton, Ruby Jay as Riley, Mia Lynn Bangunan as Pontoon, and Laura San Giacomo as La Befana, the Christmas Witch.

Jack Burditt will continue as executive producer and showrunner, while Kevin Hench, Richard Baker and Rick Messina will serve as executive producers along with Jason Winer and Jon Radler for Small Dog Picture Company.

The Disney Branded Television series is produced by 20th Television.

Iglesias recently became the second highest grossing touring comedian and is one of the most watched comedians on YouTube with over 1.1 billion views and over 25 million fans on social media.

His acting credits include Mr. Iglesias, Magic Mike and Magic Mike XXL, A Haunted House and Smurfs: The Lost Village.

Paul Rodriguez Appearing in Netflix’s “Dirty Daddy: A Tribute to Bob Saget” Special

The 67-year-old Mexican-American actor and stand-up comedian will appear in Netflix’s Dirty Daddy: A Tribute to Bob Saget, a special that celebrates his life and legacy.

“Bob wasn’t something that was taken away from us — he was something that was given to us,” says the trailer for the special.

The special will launch on Friday, June 10, on the streamer.

Saget died January 9 in an Orlando hotel room not long after a stand-up performance. His death at 65 rocked Hollywood and led to an outpouring of tributes, along with the farewell show at the Comedy Store in West Hollywood where Dirty Daddy was filmed.

In addition to Rodriguez, those taking part are Saget’s former Full House co-stars John Stamos and Dave Coulier, along with Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, Jim Carrey, Michael Keaton, Tim Allen, Jeff Ross, Darren Criss, Jon Lovitz, John Mayer, Mike Binder, Jackson Browne, Seth Green, Mike Young and Candace Cameron Bure.

His widow Kelly Rizzo-Saget and their daughters Lara and Aubrey Saget also are set.

In the trailer, Rizzo-Saget steps to the stage and says, “The most important thing to him was belonging to this club, to this group, to being a comedian.” Carrey adds: “You created a cathedral of f*cking love, Bob Saget.”

As also noted in the trailer, everyone deserves a friend like Bob.

Fox to Air Series Finale of Hector Elizondo’s Long-Running Series “Last Man Standing” in May

Fox has announced the series finale date for Last Man Standing, starring the 84-year-old Spanish-Puerto Rican actor.

The hour-long series finale will air on Thursday, May 20 from 9:00 – 10:00 pm ET/PT on Fox.

In October, the network revealed that the Tim Allen-fronted sitcom will end with its ninth season.

Last Man Standing stars Tim Allen as Mike Baxter, a happily married father of three daughters, who usually finds himself the odd man out in a home dominated by women.

Trailer Released for Jessica Alba’s Dark Comedy “El Camino Christmas”

It’s a special Christmas for Jessica Alba

The 36-year-old half-Mexican American actress is starring the dark comedy El Camino Christmas.

Directed by Dave Talbert, the film features an ensemble cast that includes Alba, Luke Grimes, Tim AllenDax Shepard and Vincent D’Onofrio.

It’s also the next film from Hidden Figures filmmaker Ted Melfi. The Netflix film will start streaming on December 8.

The project, 10 years in the making, was produced by Melfi and scripted by him and Chris Wehner.

The story follows a young man (Grimes) who seeks out a father he has never met and, through no fault of his own, ends up barricaded in a liquor store with five other people on Christmas Eve. The story takes place in the fictitious town of El Camino, Nevada.

Alba’s latest project follows her appearances in the films Mechanic: Resurrection and The Veil.

Elizondo’s “Last Man Standing” Extended…

Well, color me happy! It looks like you’ll be seeing more of Hector Elizondo on television this season…

ABC has ordered two more episodes the new comedy series Last Man Standing, which stars the 75-year-old actor as Ed Alzate, Mike’s boss (Tim Allen).

That brings the total episode count for the multi-camera family comedy to 24, which airs on Tuesday nights.

The series has averaged 10.6 million viewers and a 3.1 rating/9 share in adults 18-49.
