Mason to Star in ABC’s Midseason Drama “Of Kings and Prophets”

The 24-year-old Cuban American actress/dancer has been added to the cast of ABC’s midseason drama Of Kings and Prophets.

The series, penned by Adam Cooper and Bill Collage, is described as an epic Biblical saga of faith, ambition and betrayal as told through the eyes of a battle-weary king, a powerful and resentful prophet and a resourceful young shepherd on a collision course with destiny.

Mason will portray Merav, the eldest daughter of King Saul and Queen Ahinoam, and sister of Michal.

Mason, the winner of Season 5 of Fox’s competition series So You Think You Can Dance.

Her television credits include Bunheads, Major Crimes, Big Time Rush, as well as the recent Fox pilots Studio City and Delirium.

Moreno Brooks to Star Opposite Eva Longoria in NBC’s “Telenovela” Series

The Latino semi-pro-soccer-player-turned-actor has landed a series regular role in NBC’s 13-episode single-camera comedy series Telenovela.

Starring and executive produced by Eva Longoria, the series is based on an idea by Longoria.

Directed by Steve Pink, Telenovela stars Longoria as popular diva Ana Maria, star of Latin America’s most beloved telenovela who strives to stay on top in a world where the drama on-camera is nothing compared to the drama off-camera.

Moreno Brooks will portray Gael Garnica, a masculine soap star who happens to be gay, married and not in the closet. He’s one of Ana’s best friends.

Longoria and Ben Spector executive produce for Universal Television. The project is written/executive produced by Chrissy Pietrosh and Jessica Goldstein.

Moreno Brooks’s other television credits include appearances on Big Time Rush, The Nine Lives of Chloe King, The Game and One Bad Choice.

Fifth Harmony Named Favorite Band on Social Media at the Shorties

Camila Cabello, Lauren Jauregui, Ally Brooke Hernandez and their Fifth Harmony band mates are the queens of social media.

The all-girl group, created by Simon Cowell on the second season of Fox’s now cancelled The X Factor, has picked up a Shorty Award.

The Shorties, as they’re called, ar doled out annually to honor the best short-form content creators on Twitter and on other social media sites.

Fifth Harmony was named favorite band on social media, beating out One Direction, The Script, Emblem3, Big Time Rush, 5 Seconds of Summer and Tokio Hotel.

Since finishing third on The X Factor, Fifth Harmony has managed to earn a loyal following on social media. The band has 1.17 million followers on Twitter, 436,000 followers on Instagram and 2,768,848 likes on Facebook.

Pena to Host Nickelodeon’s Summer Game Show “Web Heads”

The 24-year-old Spanish, Venezuelan and Dominican American singer-songwriter/actor and Big Time Rush member, who married actress Alex Vega earlier this year, will serve as the host on Nickelodeon‘s new Ryan Seacrest-backed game show.

The Big Time Rush television series alum will lead the competition series, which revolves around child contestants competing in challenges centered on viral videos, according to The Hollywood Reporter. 

The 40-episode summer game show, formerly titled Go Viral, will now be called Web Heads.

Production on the half-hour, studio-based show will begin next week.

“I grew up on Nickelodeon game shows and always dreamed of being a contestant,” said Pena in a statement to THR. “I’m excited to be doing something fun and unique that captures the heart and slime of Nick.”

The new job keeps Pena in the Nickelodeon family, where he was a lead in the music comedy series Big Time Rush from 2009 to 2013.

He recently wrapped production on George Lopez’s indie La Vida Robot, based on a Wired article about four undocumented Mexican-American high school students who form a robotics club and compete against MIT in a national robotics competition.

Lamas to Compete on the New Season of Donald Trump’s “Celebrity Apprentice”

The 56-year-old half-Argentine American actor will reportedly be among the contestants on the upcoming seventh season of NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice, according to Us Weekly.

It’s not the first reality television show appearance for Lamas, best known for portraying Lance Cumson on the popular 1980s primetime sudser Falcon Crest. He previously starred in his own reality show, Leave it to Lamas, a series that centered on his real-life family.

His most recent credits include a recurring role on Nickelodeon’s Big Time Rush and appearances on The Joe Schmo Show and The Eric Andre Show.

Other reported contestants on the Donald Trump-hosted reality competition include Real Housewives of Beverly Hills‘ Brandi Glanville, Real Housewives of Atlanta‘s Kenya MooreDancing with the Stars alum and mother of eight Kate Gosselin, Olympian Shawn Johnson, rapper Ludacris, volleyball star Gabrielle Reece, and actors Ian Ziering and Vivica A. Fox.

Journalist Geraldo Rivera and Cosby Show star Keshia Knight Pulliam will also compete, according to TMZ.

The cast will be officially announced on Thursday.

The new season of Celebrity Apprentice will begin filming this spring.

Vega to Guest Star on the CW’s “Tomorrow People”

The 25-year-old half-Colombian American actress, who recently tied the knot with Big Time Rush’s Carlos Pena, Jr., will be making her debut on the CW’s Tomorrow People next week.

Vega, best known for her role as Carmen Cortez in the Spy Kids film series, will portray Hillary Cole on the sci-fi show’s January 22 episode.

Vega’s character is described as a new recruit who goes head-to-head with Stephen (Robbie Amell) to see who will make it to the next stage of agent training. Unfortunately, the loser gets stripped of their powers, and Hillary will stop at nothing to win.

“She beats the crap out of me,” Amell tells TVGuide.com. “She messes Stephen up. She’s conniving. She’s doing anything she can for herself. She does not care about the people around her.”

Tomorrow People, which centers follows a group of young people who possess psionic powers as the result of human evolution, airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on the CW.

Vega & Carlos Pena, Jr. Tie the Knot in Mexico

The 25-year-old half-Colombian American actress and former Spy Kids star married Big Time Rush member Carlos Pena, Jr. in Mexico on Saturday, according to People magazine.

“Mrs. PENAVEGA,” tweeted Vega on Saturday, after the couple said “I do” at the Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Vega and Pena, 24, announced their engagement in September. The Spanish, Venezuelan and Dominican American singer/actor star popped the question during a road trip and then shared a picture of the ring on Instagram.

This is the second marriage for Vega, who split from producer Sean Cove in July 2012 after two years of marriage.

Vega will next guest-star on The Tomorrow People.

Lopez Producing & Starring in Inspirational Tale “La Vida Robot”

The 52-year-old Mexican American actor/comedian will star opposite Marisa Tomei in La Vida Robot, the true story adapted from a WIRED article about four undocumented Mexican-American teenagers who form a robotics team in Phoenix. They go up against the best from M.I.T. in the national robotics championship with an entry made from $800 and used car parts.

Lionsgate and Televisa’s Pantelion will co-produce the film with Lopez’s Travieso Productions.

In addition to Lopez and Tomei, the film stars Breaking Bad’s Steven Michael Quezada and Big Time Rush’s Carlos Pena Jr.

La Vida Robot is currently filming on location in New Mexico under helmer Sean McNamara.

Bobadilla Signs with Paradigm Talent Agency

The 20-year-old Mexican-born Canadian actress, who currently stars on FX’s Anger Management, has signed with Paradigm Talent Agency, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Bobadilla, who plays the teenage daughter of Charlie Sheen‘s character on the FX comedy series, is leaving ICM Partners to reunite with Iris Grossman, the veteran agent who departed for Paradigm in June.

Other Grossman clients who have already made the move include Mandy Patinkin, Julie Benz and Ed O’Neill.

Last month Bobadilla starred in the Lifetime telepic The Cheating Pact.

Previously she was a series regular on the NBC drama Awake and has guest-starred on Desperate Housewives, Big Time Rush and Emily Owens M.D.

Vega – who will next star in Machete Kills, Robert Rodriguez’s sequel to Machete – shared the news via her Instagram account, posting a photo of Pena with the caption “Hello fiancé.”

Pena popped the question to Vega, who’s been married once before, during a recent road trip.

On Wednesday, Pena posted a photo of Vega sporting her massive engagement ring. “My angel!!! @vegaalexa awesome road trip so far!! Now we just need to get back,” wrote the 24-year-old Spanish, Venezuelan and Dominican American singer/actor.
