Henry Zagais preparing for a Mutant-y

The official trailer has been released for 20th Century Fox/Marvel’s The New Mutants, starring the 26-year-old Brazilian actor.

The New Mutants

A first teaser for the film was released during CinemaConin 2017, kicking off a long road for the comic adaptation for Josh Boonethat has included several release dates, reshoots, the Disney regime change and even thoughts of putting the film on Hulu.

But now it appears the latest theatrical release date — April 3 — will stick.

The X-Menspinoff moves outside the box of the more traditional Marvel fare, with Boone’s film written by Boone & Knate Leebilled as a horror thriller set in an isolated hospital where young mutants are being held for psychiatric monitoring. When strange occurrences begin to take place, both their new mutant abilities and their friendships will be tested as they battle to try and make it out alive.

In addition to Zaga, who portrays Roberto da Costa / Sunspot, the film also stars Maisie WilliamsAnya Taylor-JoyCharlie HeatonAlice Braga and Blu Hunt.

It’s the first Fox/Marvel release since X-Men: Dark Phoenix, which launched in June. Directed by Kinberg, the dark tale of Jean Grey stumbled to an estimated $100 million-$120 million loss after ancillaries, which like New Mutants also included reshoots. It ended up grossing $252 million worldwide.

According to J Balvin’s post, the new song is “coming soon.”

Freeform to Premiere Karamo Brown’s TV Movie “The Thing About Harry” in February

Karamo Brown is hittin’ the road this Valentine’s Day

Freeform will premiere its road-trip rom-com The Thing About Harry, starring the 39-year-old part-Cuban American Queer Eye host and actor, will be a post-Valentine’s Day offering.

Karamo Brown

The television movie starring Brown, Jake Borelli, Niko Terho, Britt Baronand Peter Paigeis set to premiere at 8:00 pm on Saturday, February 15, on the Disney-owned cable outlet.

Borelli portrays Sam, a handsome, funny, neurotic, intelligent young gay man who combines a scathing wit with an overly idealistic worldview. Sam came out when he was still in high school, something that took a lot of courage in his small Missouri town, but was bullied constantly. Terho plays Harry, an emotionally uncomplicated, promiscuous player who has always left a string of broken hearts in his wake. Under the surface, Harry actually yearns for love, family and stability, but the thought of commitment still terrifies him.

Brown plays Paul, an exceedingly well put-together yet overbearing and pretentious gay man.

“It’s been an honor to partner with Freeform in making great television with LGBTQ+ characters as leads,” The Thing About Harry executive producers Paige, Greg Gugliotta and F.J. Denny in a statement. “True equality can only be achieved when you see yourself reflected in the movies, music and stories that paint our culture.

“As young gay men in the ’90s, whenever a rom-com opened, we would watch the leading lady fall in love and imagine what it would be like if the boy was saying all those things to another boy. We’ve always wanted to make a movie — an unabashedly romantic comedy — that queer boys wouldn’t have to translate. It’s rewarding to take the genre to a new, all-inclusive level.”

Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” Returns to No. 1 on Australia’s ARIA Singles Chart

Mariah Carey’s celebrating a return to No. 1 Down Under

The 49-year-old half-Venezuelan American singer tops the charts in Australia with “All I Want For Christmas is You.”

Mariah Carey

Carey’s insta-holiday classic rules the ARIA Singles Chartfor the second year running. Its chart journey in Australia is no less unusual than its 25-year-long ride to the summit in the United States.

“All I Want For Christmas is You” was released in 1994 and peaked at No. 2 that year Down Under. Powered by streaming, the tune hit the summit for the first time in 2018, a full 24 years after its release.

The Queen of Christmasalso bags eighth position on the national albums survey this week with Merry Christmas which, like “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” is six-times platinum certified.

J Balvin’s “RITMO (Bad Boys For Life)” with the Black Eyed Peas Hits No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs Chart

J Balvin is celebrating the New Year with a bang…

The 34-year-old Colombian reggaeton singer’s latest single, “RITMO (Bad Boys For Life)” with The Black Eyed Peas, has reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart.

J Balvin

It’s J Balvin’s eighth No. 1 on the chart.

“RITMO,” released on October 12, crowns the tally in its 11th week after a six-week run in the top five. The track dethrones Bad Bunny’s four-week ruler “Vete.”

Though all metrics for “RITMO” are up (sales, streams and airplay), it ascends mainly on the strength of streaming activity. The song registered 7.1 million U.S. streams (up 3%) in the week ending December 26, according to Nielsen Music, and remains at No. 5 on the Latin Streaming Songschart for a second week.

While “RITMO” posts a 2% decline on Latin Airplay, it continues at No. 13 for a second week on the chart.

Meanwhile, the track takes the Digital Greatest Gainer honors with a 19% gain holding steady at No. 2 on the Latin Digital Song Sales list for a fifth consecutive week.

J Balvin has a total of 55 Hot Latin Songs entries.

Over on the all-genre Hot 100 chart, “RITMO” moves 89-86.

Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” Rules Billboard Hot 100 for Second Week

Mariah Careyhas extra reason to celebrate this Christmas

The 49-year-old half-Venezuelan American singer’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” tops the Billboard Hot 100 for a second week.

Mariah Carey

Carey’s carol also breaks its own record for the biggest streaming week ever for a holiday song: 54.4 million U.S. streams in the week ending December 19, according to Nielsen Music.

The Hot 100 blends all-genre U.S. streaming, radio airplay and sales data.

Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” on Columbia/Legacy Records, tops the Streaming Songschart for a third consecutive week, and fourth total frame (after a week at No. 1 last holiday season), up 19% to 54.4 million U.S. streams in the week ending December 19, according to Nielsen Music. The total is the best weekly sum ever for a holiday hit, surpassing the 51.9 million that the song drew last season (January 5, 2019).

Originally released in 1994 on Carey’s album Merry Christmas, the modern classic reached the Hot 100’s top 10 at last in December 2017 and rose to its prior No. 3 high last holiday season, before topping the tally for the first time last week and becoming only the second holiday No. 1 ever on the Hot 100, joining The Chipmunks‘ “The Chipmunk Song” (with David Seville), which ruled for four weeks in 1958-59.

Among other feats achieved last week with the Hot 100 coronation of “Christmas,” Carey collected her 19th No. 1, extending her record for the most among soloists and moving to within one of The Beatles‘ record 20. This week, she adds her record-extending 81st career week at No. 1 and extends the longest span of Hot 100 No. 1s for any artist: 29 years, four months and three weeks, dating to her first frame at No. 1 on the chart dated August 4, 1990, with “Vision of Love.”

Additionally last week, Carey became the fourth artist with Hot 100 No. 1s in the 1990s, 2000s & 2010s, joining Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears and Usher. No act has ever logged time at No. 1 on the Hot 100 in four distinct decades, consecutively or otherwise; thus, if “Christmas” is No. 1 on the chart next week (dated January 4, 2020), Carey would become the first artist to achieve the honor. (A new video for the song, released Friday, December 20, will help the song’s fortunes on next week’s charts.)

The 20-year-old Spanish singer has joined voices with Cali and El Dandee to release a powerful pop/rock song “+.

Aitana

The track keeps alive the legacy of a genre that almost gets totally replaced by urban music.

The song breaks into a romantic melody that talks about how two lovers fall in love and miss each other because they are apart.

Musically, the track kicks off as a soft ballad but becomes more soft rock at the end.
