Robert Trujillo & His Metallica Band Mates to Release New Career-Spanning Portal, “The Metallica Black Box”

Robert Trujillo is boxin’ up his heavy metal history…

The 57-year-old half-Mexican American musician and songwriter and his Metallica band mates are giving fans a deep dive into their history with a new career-spanning portal, The Metallica Black Box.

MetallicaThe project will feature “memorabilia, photographs, sketches, clothing and footage straight from our personal collections, hoarded over the last 40 years,” according to the band.

“We’ve been incredibly fortunate to travel to all corners of the planet, meet so many amazing people, and do things we once only dreamed of,” said the band in a statement. “And when you’ve been around for 40 years, you manage to collect a few things! Along the way, the four of us have hung on to many keepsakes, photographs, articles of clothing, sketches, and so much more, stashing these items away in attics, garages, and storage spaces. But no more as we’re excited to launch The Metallica Black Box! Debuting with The Black Album Exhibition, The Black Box will offer an ongoing deep dive into every era of our career from the early ’80s garage days up to today and beyond.”

Years in the works, the band said they are now officially “unboxing” their collections to pull their favorite, most significant and personally meaningful artifacts in a collaboration with Inveniem and Definitive Authentic.

Among the promised features on the site — both virtual and physical —  will be weekly livestream events, limited signed memorabilia and “progressively deeper” dives into their vaults.

More artifacts are slated to post before the end of the year as part of the Black Album Exhibition — a 30th anniversary celebration of the band’s self-titled album — and 2021 will bring new exhibits, including a 40-year retrospective and showcase of the many collaborations with graphic artists they’ve worked with during their four-decade career.

Among the items available to check out now are “The Snake Pit,” an homage to their most loyal fans that includes classic laminates, archival photos, fan-made t-shirts and illustrations by artist Heath Miller from their 1991-1994 Black Album era.

The tracks’ official music videos, both from 2018, each crossed 1 billion views this week, becoming Londra’s first and second videos to achieve the feat.

Camila Cabello’s “Don’t Go Yet” Featured on ‘Just Dance 2022’

Camila Cabello is getting people to just dance

The 24-year-old Cuban Mexican singer and former Fifth Harmony member’s single “Don’t Go Yet” – the lead single from her highly anticipated third solo studio album Familia –  is now featured on Just Dance 2022, the wildly popular interactive dance game.

Camila Cabello

“I knew obviously when my collaborators and I wrote the song that it was such a party, good-time song but I didn’t realize until I played the game that I was like, ‘Oh, it’s so perfect for dancing with your friends,’ and made me want to play Just Dance,” she said.

Speaking about her inspirations for “Don’t Go Yet,” Cabello shared that she listened to a lot of Latin music in her youth and got some of her earliest dance lessons from watching television.

“Growing up, my family listened to a lot of Latin music, so a lot of salsa, Celia Cruz‘s ‘La vida es un carnaval,’ a lot of Latin songs,” Cabello explained. “My first memories of dancing were watching High School Musical and The Cheetah Girls and group ensemble moments trying to learn the dance. I remember trying to learn the Soulja Boy and the Dougie and it’s such a bonding thing for people to be able to dance together. It’s so connecting.”

Though Cabello has yet to provide fans with a release date for Familia, the singer did share what the album means to her: “This album to me means community, I guess the opposite of you on your own. It’s more you with other people land sharing in that joy and success, whatever that means. Interdependence realizing how important everybody is in your life. A lot of it is inspired by my relationships: My relationships to my family, my relationship to my friends, my relationship to my partner…it’s all about connections with other people, hence, Familia.”

Monica Raymund to Star in Dick Wolf’s Scripted Podcast Drama Series “Dark Woods”

It’s a dark time for Monica Raymund.

The 35-year-old half-Dominican American actress and Hightown star will star opposite Corey Stoll and Reid Scott in Dark Woods, a scripted podcast drama series from Dick Wolf’s Wolf Entertainment.

Monica Raymund

The thriller centers around the suspicious death of a young park volunteer in the California Redwood Forest.

It’s the Law & Order creator’s second foray into the world of scripted podcasts after the launch of Hunted, starring Parker Posey and Brandon Scott, in 2019.

It brings together two actors from the wider Wolf world; Stoll played Detective Tomas Jaruszalski in Law & Order: LA, while Raymund starred as Gabriela Dawson Casey in Chicago Fire.

The series, which launches on November 8, begins when the body of a young volunteer is discovered in the middle of the California redwoods. It brings together two estranged ex-spouses, a stubborn game warden and a charismatic councilwoman, who must put their personal differences aside to learn the terrifying truth about what is happening in their state park. The investigation leads to a surprising twist impacted by illegal marijuana grow sites and a much larger crime organization.

Written by David Pergolini and directed by Takashi Doscher, it is executive-produced by Dick Wolf and Elliot Wolf. The series is produced by Wolf Entertainment and Endeavor Content in association with Waverunner Studios.

The series was recorded remotely with Raymund recording during breaks from Starz’ Hightown, Stoll was in New York and Scott was in LA.

Wolf (right) added that the sound design was key to the audio drama, the idea of creating traditional scenes that would be strong enough to follow along without a visual.

“The goal was to make this as an immersive experience as possible and to make it feel as real life as possible. The actual sound design is largely recorded sounds in the forest. When you hear a coffee mug being picked up, it’s an actual coffee mug,” he said.

Guillen’s case drew nationwide attention, with her family, public officials, lawmakers and celebrities demanding #JusticeForVanessaGuillen.Vanessa Guillen

After disappearing from the base, Guillén’s remains were found two months later. Investigators say she was killed by Robinson, who later fatally shot himself as police tried to take him into custody.

In July, Robinson’s girlfriend Cecily Aguilar was indicted on 11 counts by a federal grand jury as an accessory for allegedly helping Robinson destroy and bury Guillén’s remains.

Fort Hood will also explore the role of the military in the investigation, which has been heavily criticized. It also delves into the case revealing a deeper, more complex story about a renowned U.S. military base with a long record of unreported sexual abuse, and highlights Guillén’s family, which refused to stay quiet as they pushed authorities for answers.

“This is a consequential story that touches on critical issues in our country,” Telemundo Network News president Luis Fernandez said. “It’s a revealing exposé and a necessary investigation. Noticias Telemundo, with The Story Lab, believe this important story deserved a deeper examination and this format allows us to do just that.”
