Daddy Yankee Gathering Latin Music Stars for One-Night Only Concert in LA

Daddy Yankee is bringing out some big guns for his upcoming all-star concert.

The 38-year-old Puerto Rican reggaeton singer, songwriter, producer and actor is gathering an A-list squad for a special, one-night only engagement during his King Daddy tour.

Scheduled to take place on October 17 at Los Angeles’ Staples Center, the stellar line-up for Yankee’s concert includes Prince Royce, Yandel, Natalia Jimenez, Arcángel, Plan B and others to be confirmed soon.

Tickets for the concert, produced by Cárdenas Marketing Network, in association with Pina Records and AEG Live, will go on sale Sept. 3 on axs.com.

Having just trekked across Europe for a 19-date tour, Yankee has a busy two years of touring ahead of him.

His recently announced 60-date joint tour The Kingdom with Don Omar kicks off on December 5 in Puerto Rico and will run for two years.

The partnership also includes a joint album and a TV show for the two reggaeton superstars.

J Alvarez to Perform at the Calibash Festival in January

J Alvarez is bringing his preguntas to Southern California…

The 30-year-old Puerto Rican reggaetón artist and “La Pregunta” singer will perform at the Calibash festival, which is set for January 24 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

This year’s lineup includes PitbullDon Omar, Carlos Vives, Tego Calderon, WisinPlan BFarruko3BallMTYGente de Zona and Maluma.

The lineup joins some of the most established Latin music acts with a strong representation of emerging artists who have become familiar names on the charts, including Alvarez, Farruko (“Passion Wine”), and Gente de Zona (“Bailando”).

The festival should be a magnet for the bilingual young Latino crowd.

Calibash, billed as “the leading urban Latin music festival in the world,” is presented by SBS Entertainment, AEG Live and Mega 96.3 FM. The latest edition of the 7-year-old festival was previously scheduled to take place on Nov. 22.

SBS moved the Calibash date ahead when iHeartMedia launched its own Latin mega concert, the iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina, on that same November date.

Frankie J. Joins Jennifer Lopez & Enrique Iglesias’ Tour

It’s Blackjack time for Frankie J.

The 36-year-old Mexican R&B singer has signed on to perform on 21 of the 26 dates on the Jennifer Lopez and Enrique Iglesias summer tour.

The announcement comes after Wisin & Yandel dropped out of the highly publicized tour due to “timing issues” and “a host of things” that led to their announcement, according to Randy Phillips, president of AEG Live.

Frankie J, known for his smooth R&B vocals and earlier in his career for being part of the Kumbia Kings, will join Lopez and Iglesias on July 20 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

“I am super excited to join Enrique and Jennifer on this adventure,” Frankie J. said in a statement through Universal Music Latino. “They are global superstars and I am honored that they invited me to be a part of their tour. I look forward to performing for my fans across the country.”

Frankie J., who was raised in Southern California and sings in both English and Spanish, will will debut his latest single “Tienes Que Creer en Mi” later this month during the Premios Juventud. The awards show is scheduled to air on Univision on July 19.

Lopez & Iglesias to Co-Headline North American Tour

Last fall, Jennifer Lopez and Enrique Iglesias joined voices on the single “Mouth 2 Mouth”… And now they’re preparing to join forces to co-headline a North American tour.

The 42-year-old Puerto Rican singer/actress and 36-year-old Spanish singer/songwriter have announced plans for a 16-city concert tour this summer, with more dates to be announced soon.

“I’m so excited to be spending this summer out on the road,” said Iglesias in a statement. “There is no better feeling than being out on stage in front of all my fans.”

Meanwhile, Wisin Y Yandelwho recently collaborated with Lopez on the track “Follow the Leader”—will open for the American Idol judge and Iglesias on the tour.

“We are going to give you everything we got,” Lopez said. “I think it’s going to be one of the most historic tours ever. Because I don’t know that there has ever been something … where these Latinos have come together like this as family.”

Promoted by AEG Live, the tour will kick off in Montreal on July 14. Tickets go on sale this Friday.
