Aguilera Gives Riveting Performance at People’s Choice Awards

Now that’s why she’s called the “People’s Voice”…

Christina Aguilera didn’t just pick up a special award at the People’s Choice Awards for her achievements in the music industry and her ability to reach millions around the globe.

Christina Aguilera

The 32-year-old half-Ecuadorian American actress even performed on the CBS-televised awards show, singing the soulful ballad “Blank Page,” her latest single from her recent album Lotus.

Dressed to the nines in an Alexander McQueen jacket and vest with Alexandre Vaulthier pants, Christian Louboutin shoes and Neil Lane jewelry, the recently-departed judge from NBC’s The Voice accepted her award, the first-ever People’s Voice Award, from actor Josh Duhamel.

It would be Aguilera’s only award of the night after losing in the Favorite Celebrity Judge category to The X Factor’s Demi Lovato.

Aguilera to Appear on “New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly”

She may be taking a break from The Voice next season , but Christina Aguilera is planning to spend one last night with Carson Daly before she does…

The 31-year-old half-Ecuadorian singer, who has been named the People’s Voice, has been added to the lineup of NBC’s annual New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly.

The two-hour special, live from New York City’s Time Square and hosted by The Voice host Daly (late night’s Last Call With Carson Daly), will be headlined by Train and The Voice‘s latest winner Cassadee Pope on December 31, first from 10-11 p.m. and then 11:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. to ring in 2013.

Train will perform “Mermaid” and John Lennon‘s “Imagine.”

A music retrospective will also highlight the year’s top performances, featuring Justin Bieber, Coldplay, Madonna, PSY, Beyonce, Adele, The Spice Girls and David Guetta.

Daly, who has hosted the event since 2003, will be joined by his Voice colleagues Aguilera, Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and Cee Lo Green.

Additionally, Amy Poehler, Donald Trump, Jay Leno, Jimmy Fallon, Nick Offerman, Adam Scott, Parenthood cast members and The Office‘s Angela Kinsey, who will bring live reports from the ground in Times Square, are set to appear on the program.

Aguilera, a nominee for Favorite Celebrity Judge, is being recognized for her achievements in the music industry and her ability to reach millions of fans around the globe.

In addition to picking up the special award, Aguilera will take the stage to perform on the live show. No word on what song the “Your Body” singer will tackle yet. But if it’s anything like the performance Aguilera gave at the American Music Awards, it should be a high-energy affair.

The People’s Choice Awards will be broadcast live on January 9, 2013.
