The global rock star has sold more than 100 million records over his 40-year tenure thanks to Latin-infused hits like “Oye Como Va,” “Maria Maria” and “Smooth.”

In April, he released Santana IV, which saw the reunion of his band’s original ’70s lineup, comprised of Santana, Gregg Rolie on keyboards, Neal Schon on guitar, Michael Carabello on percussion and Michael Shrieve on drums.

Santana IV also debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200.

His wife, Cindy Blackman, is an American jazz and rock drummer, who also joined her husband in performing the national anthem at last year’s NBA Finals.

After the Golden State Warriors claimed victory in Game 1, the hometown team will take on the Cleveland Cavaliers for round 2 at Oakland’s Oracle Arena on Sunday, June 5.

The game airs at 8:00 pm ET on ABC.

Lovato Gives A Stellar World Series National Anthem Performance…

Former “Sonny with a Chance” star Demi Lovato took some serious chances with her rendition of the national anthem at Game 5 of the World Series… And, she hit it out of the park!

The 19-year-old Texas native—showing support for her Texas Rangers by wearing the team’s jersey underneath her sharp blazer—wasn’t afraid to hit the high notes while perfoming the “The Star-Spangled Banner” before the ame between the Rangers and the St. Louis Cardinals in Arlington, Texas.

“So nervous/excited about tomorrow!!! National anthem at the #WorldSeries… Wow!!!” the part-Mexican singer/actress announced via Twitter.

But, Lovato showed no sign of nerves. She delivered almost the entire song, except for a slight challenge with the line “land of the free,” with some serious gumption. And she made up for the slight slip-up by singing the closing “Home of the brave” line with some serious melisma!  The risky move paid off with the crowd unleashing some serious love at the end of Lovato’s performance.

Such a proud moment for the singer who was recently named to Billboard.com’s 21 Under 21 musicians list.

So what’s next for Lovato? She’ll be hitting the road for a series of “A Special Night with Demi Lovato” performances throughout the country starting next month.

McCreery Hits a National Anthem Homer Despite Mic Issue…

He may have experienced a slight mic malfunction on his first at-bat, but Scotty McCreery didn’t let that stop him from performing a rousing, countrified rendition of the National Anthem last night at Game 1 of the World Series

McCreery’s microphone didn’t appear to be on when he originally launched into “The Star-Spangled Banner,” so the 18-year-old North Carolina native started over again. In no time, his deep voice filled St. Louis’ Busch Stadium.

Wearing jeans and a windbreaker with the words “World Series” written across the front, the part-Puerto Rican singer’s rendition was basically flawless. The “American Idol” winner didn’t flub any lines or skip verses. He just performed the National Anthem beautifully in his country style.

For the huge baseball fan, this was probably one of the biggest moments of his life, especially with First Lady Michelle Obama in attendance. And he took the task seriously, barely cracking a smile until the very end.

“well, as mr George Strait would say, I wasn’t here for a long time, but I was here for a good time! Great time in St. Louis yesterday!” he’d later tweet.

This year’s World Series pits the American League’s Texas Rangers at the National League’s St. Louis Cardinals. Last night’s game result in a 3-2 Cardinals victory over the Rangers.
