New Musical Adaptation of “The Great Gatsby,” Starring Eva Noblezada, to Open on Broadway This Spring

A new musical adaptation of The Great Gatsby, starring the 27-year-old half-Mexican American actress/singer and Broadway star and Jeremy Jordan, will open on Broadway this spring, producers have announced.

Eva Noblezada,The musical begins previews on Friday, March 29, at The Broadway Theatre, with an opening night set for Thursday, April 25.

The announcement was made by lead producer Chunsoo Shin.

Direct from a record-breaking, sold-out world premiere at Paper Mill Playhouse last fall, the show features music and lyrics by Tony Award nominees Nathan Tysen & Jason Howland, a book by Kait Kerrigan, and is staged by award-winning director Marc Bruni and choreographer Dominique Kelley.

The Broadway premiere of The Great Gatsby will feature scenic and projection design by Paul Tate de Poo III, costume design by Linda Cho, lighting design by Cory Pattak, sound design by Brian Ronan, hair & wig design by Charles G. LaPointe & Rachael Geier. Arrangements are by Jason Howland, and Orchestrations are by Jason Howland and Kim Scharnberg. The Music Director is Daniel Edmonds and the music producer is Billy Jay Stein for Strike Audio. Mark Shacket of Foresight Theatrical serves as Executive Producer.

The musical’s world premiere engagement was the highest grossing show in Paper Mill Playhouse history.

The production, which ran October 12–November 12, 2023, also broke the theater’s record for ticket sales in a single day, and sold out the entire run before its very first performance.

This production is not to be confused with a Gatsby stage musical announced in 2021 with Florence Welch and Thomas Bartlett attached.

Noblezada made her Broadway debut as Kim in a revival of Miss Saigon, a performance for which she received a nomination for a 2017 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical, becoming one of the youngest nominees in the category, at age 21.

She also originated the lead role of Eurydice in Hadestown on Broadway, a performance for which she received her second nomination for a 2019 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical, as well as winning the 2020 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album. Noblezada also played the title character of Rose in the 2020 film Yellow Rose, starring alongside Lea Salonga, who originated the role of Kim in Miss Saigon.

Fergie to Co-Host ABC’s “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” Program

The 40-year-old part-Mexican American singer and Black Eyed Peas member will return to host the Billboard Hollywood Party during this year’s ABC telecast of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2016.

The bi-coastal celebration will include hours of special performances and reports on New Year’s celebrations from around the globe, and Ryan Seacrest will lead the traditional countdown to midnight from Times Square in New York City as he has for the last 10 years.

In addition to Fergie’s West Coast hosting duties, the television event will include a headlining performance by Carrier Underwood and live reports in Times Square from Jenny McCarthy.

Fergie is currently in the studio putting the finishing touches on her highly anticipated sophomore album scheduled for release early next year.

The new album is the follow up to her to her 2006 solo album The Dutchess, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Top 200 and spent 94 weeks on the chart. The album went on to sell 6.2 million copies and 28.5 million tracks worldwide and spawned three No. 1 hits on the Hot 100: “London Bridge,” “Glamorous,” and “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” as well as the Top 5 singles “Fergalicious” and “Clumsy.”

Since The Dutchess’ release, Fergie has also released two monster multi-Platinum albums, The E.N.D. and The Beginning, with The Black Eyed Peas– with whom she has sold 31 million albums and 58 million singles worldwide.

The Black Eyed Peas’ videos have been viewed over 2 billion times on their YouTube channel.

Last year, Fergie released the single, “L.A.Love (la la)”which went on to sell nearly 2 million copies worldwide. In 2013, Fergie released  the platinum selling song “A Little Party Never Killed Nobody,” which appeared on the platinum soundtrack to the 2013 film The Great Gatsby.

America’s biggest celebration of the year will take place live from Times Square on Thursday, December 31 beginning at 8:00 pm on ABC.

Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi Weds Fiance Jionni LaValle in Jersey Wedding

The 27-year-old Chilean-American reality television star married her fiance Jionni LaValle in front of an audience of 500 guests, including family and friends, on Saturday, November 29.

Polizzi’s ceremony took place at St. Rose of Lima, a Catholic church in East Hanover, New Jersey.

Snooki donned a white traditional lace gown, while LaValle looked sharp in a suit with a bowtie. Her reality TV co-star Jenni “JWoww” Farley served as maid of honor, while her former Jersey Shore castmates Sammi Giancola and Deena Cortese were among her 15 bridesmaids. They wore black gowns with bows on them.

The couple’s children also took part in the ceremony. Their 2-year-old son Lorenzo walked down the aisle, while their 2-month-old daughter Giovanna was escorted in a stroller.

“Lorenzo’s going to hold a sign saying, ‘Daddy, here comes mommy’ before I walk out,” Snooki previously said of her son’s role in the nuptials.

The ceremony was followed by The Great Gatsby-themed reception at The Venetian banquet hall in nearby Garfield. Snooki changed into a more fun dress to match the black-and-gold soiree, which was LaValle’s idea. “This is why I love this HUSBAND…’No old sport…I’m Gatsby’,” she gushed on her website.

The nuptials, also attended by fellow Jersey Shore star DJ Pauly D, were filmed for her reality show “Snooki & JWoww“. As a sneak peek, Snooki posted a series of pictures from the big day, including the first look at her wedding dress and her first kiss with her new husband.

“Thank you all for all your messages of love and support!” she told her fans online. “We had a magical ceremony and I can’t wait to share more with you soon! Make sure you tune into Snooki & JWOWW  at 10/9c on MTV to see all the precious moments!”

Snooki and LaValle were engaged in March 2012 after dating for more than a year. She gave birth to their first child several months later in August and welcomed their second child in September this year.

Cuarón’s “Gravity” Nominated for Three Australian Academy Arts Awards

Alfonso Cuarón’s gravity-defying awards season continues with some big-time recognition Down Under

The 52-year-old Mexican director’s latest film, the Sandra Bullock-starrer Gravity, has received three AACTA Award nominations from the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts.

Cuarón is nominated in the AACTA International Award for Best Direction category for helming the blockbuster-hit 3D sci-fi thriller.

He’s up against Steve McQueen (12 Years a Slave), David O. Russell (American Hustle), Paul Greengrass (Captain Phillips) and Baz Luhrmann (The Great Gatsby).

Gravity is also nominated in the AACTA International Award for Best Film category, where it faces-off against 12 Years a Slave, American Hustle, Captain Phillips and Ron Howard’s Formula One drama Rush.

The AACTA International Awards will be held in Los Angeles on January 10th, 2014.

Fergie Releases “A Little Party Never Killed Nobody (All We Got)” Music Video

The 38-year-old part-Mexican American singer and Black Eyed Peas member has released the official music video for “A Little Party Never Killed Nobody (All We Got),” her contribution to the Jay-Z executive-produced The Great Gatsby soundtrack album.

Director Fatima Robinson creatively hid the mom-to-be’s baby bump for the three-and-a-half-minute clip.

“Ready 4 #ALittleParty? Join me, @QtipTheAbstract & @GoonRock 4 #ALPNKN,” Fergie tweeted along with the link to the clip.

In a behind-the-scenes interview, she explained the concept for the video, that of “hosting the ultimate party,” depicted through a 1920s-themed event at the Emerson Theatre in Hollywood.

Fergie is seen getting glammed up for a night of partying before pulling up at the front of the club. She then first retreats to a comfortable sofa surrounded by dapper-looking men dressed in their black suits before she takes over the stage and the non-stop dancing ensues, the crowded dance floor filled with partygoers swaying to the electro-pop beats of the Goonrock-produced track.

Fergie Legally Changes Her Name to ‘Fergie Duhamel’

Don’t call her Stacy anymore…

Fergie has legally changed her name to Fergie Duhamel, according to People magazine.

The 38-year-old part-Mexican American Black Eyed Peas singer, who was born Stacy Ann Ferguson, married her husband, actor Josh Duhamel, in 2009 but just recently petitioned for the name change.

Fergie, who performed a song for The Great Gatsby soundtrack, and Duhamel are expecting their first child, who is due in the fall.

De Moura and Marq got hitched at the Coral Gables Congregational Church in Florida.

Wearing a grey rhinestone-embroidered one-sleeve princess gown with a tulle skirt, De Moura exchanged vows with Marq in front of 50 of their closest family and friends, including her costars Marysol Patton, Lisa Hochstein and Alexia Echevarria, who served as bridesmaids and escorted her to the church.

“I’m excited and overwhelmed!” De Moura told Life & Style. “There were butterflies in my stomach but I finally had my dream wedding with my French amour de ma vie!”

The couple met in 2008 and decided to legalize their relationship on the season finale of Real Housewives of Miami last year. The pair’s wedding invitation made headlines earlier this month as they required all guests to “arrive in elegant, all white, royal ascot-inspired” dress to the ceremony.

For their reception at Biltmore Hotel, guests were instructed to wear “beautiful Art Deco gowns and tuxedos from Downton Abbey or The Great Gatsby.”

Marq is a successful interior designer and hotel developer whose net worth is $15 million. He owns and operates Frederic Marq Design and has been described as “one of the most talented interior designers in Florida.”

Fergie Performs on “The Great Gatsby” Soundtrack

Fergie may be expecting her first child with husband Josh Duhamel… But that isn’t stopping her from getting her party on for one of Hollywood’s most anticipated films…

The 38-year-old part-Mexican American singer is lending her voice to the soundtrack for The Great Gatsby, which Jay-Z is executive producing.

Fergie, who will be honored at Logo’s NewNowNext Awards this year,  performs the song “A Little Party Never Killed Nobody (All We Got)” on the soundtrack, along with Q Tip and GoonRock.

The Black Eyed Peas member joins a star-studded line-up of artists that includes Beyonce Knowles covering Amy Winehouse‘s “Back to Black” with Andre 3000, will.i.am, Lana Del Rey and Emeli Sande.

The Great Gatsby soundtrack will be released officially on May 7, and will feature a remarkable collection of indie, hip-hop and neo-jazz tunes.

It will debut three days ahead of the movie’s theater run beginning on May 10.
