Jennifer Lopez Signs New Recording & Publishing Partnership with BMG

Jennifer Lopez is celebrating a new deal…

The 54-year-old Puerto Rican superstar has agreed to a new recording and publishing partnership with BMG.

Jennifer LopezUnder the global alliance, J.Lo will release her forthcoming ninth studio album, This Is Me…Now—home to 13 tracks, released via Nuyorican/BMG.

The set will mark Lopez’s first studio album as a solo artist in nine years, following the 2014 release of A.K.A. on Capitol Records. That album, produced by RedOne, peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 chart. In 2022, she and Maluma released the soundtrack to their film Marry Me under Universal Studios/Sony Music US Latin.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with her and her team to release her first album in nearly a decade,” said Thomas Coesfeld, BMG’s CEO in a statement, calling Lopez a “global superstar artist, entertainer… a phenomenon.”

Produced by J.Lo, Rogét Chahayed, Angel Lopez and Jeff “Gitty” GitelmanThis Is Me…Now was created during 2022 and 2023 at Lopez’s home studio in Los Angeles.

Other songwriter-producers who worked on the album include Hitboy, Ink, Tay Keith, Yeti Beats, Carter Lang, Kim “Kaydence” Krysiuk, with BMG’s Brandon Riester serving as the album’s A&R.

According to the press statement, the upcoming set “is an exciting musical trilogy showcasing the triple-threat’s extraordinary talents.”

Film Constellation Finalizes Global Deals on Juan Galiñanes’s Upcoming Thriller “Fatum”

Juan Galiñanes’ latest project is going global…

Film Constellation has finalized several deals on the 42-year-old Spanish director’s upcoming thriller Fatum.

Juan GaliñanesThe film has been acquired for France (Canal+), Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy (Plaion) and Latin America (California Filmes).

The Spanish-language feature brings together a compulsive gambler and an elite sniper, whose destinies become intertwined on a fateful day when the local betting shop gets robbed.

When a single gunshot is fired, the next 24 hours will set them on a race against time that will define their lives forever.

The cast features Luis Tosar, Álex García, Elena Anaya and Arón Piper.

The production will be released in Spain in 2023 by Universal Studios.

Sanchez Forms Pursuit Productions with Dan Friedkin

Lauren Sanchez has launched a new production company.

The 44-year-old Emmy-winning news anchor/entertainment reporter has formed Pursuit Productions with Dan Friedkin.

The company will focus on telling compelling real life stories from around the world.

Pursuit Productions already has its first documentary feature in the works, Foundand closed a deal with Mark Monroe to pen the film.

The documentaryfollows the search for those pilots whose planes were lost in The Battle of Peleliu during World War II.  Also joining the search for the missing pilots in the film is former United States Navy Seal Marcus Luttrell, whose memoir Lone Survivor was adapted into the 2013 Universal Studios film of the same name starring Mark Wahlberg.

Friedkin and Sanchez, in conjunction with Imperative Entertainment, are also filming a pilot, On the Road, which follows the death-defying adventures of The Horsemen, the world’s only vintage P-51 aerobatic flight team.

Sanchez, who served as a guest-host on ABC’s The View this morning, is considered a frontrunner to join the daytime talk show  as a co-host.

Lopez to Appear on Jimmy Fallon’s “The Tonight Show” from Florida

It looks like Jennifer Lopez is following Fallon to Florida…

Jimmy Fallon bring his The Tonight Show production to the Universal Orlando Resort for the late-night program’s first road trip since Jay Leno stepped down. And, he’s invited the 44-year-old Puerto Rican singer, actress and American Idol judge to join him in the Sunshine State.

The Tonight Show will broadcast from the Universal Studios backlot from Monday, June 16 through Thursday, June 19, which will coincide with the opening of the resort’s newest attraction, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter-Diagon Alley.

No word on when Lopez will appear during that week, but the BBMA Icon Award will perform.

Along with the “I Luh Ya Papi” singer, Fallon’s guests will include Keenen Ivory Wayans, Kevin Hart, Jimmy Buffet, Tracy Morgan and Pitbull.

Buffet and Pitbull will also perform on the show, as will fun.

The Release of Álvarez’s “Evil Dead” Moved Up to April

Fede Álvarez will now face a Jurassic challenge at the box office…

Sony Pictures has shifted the release date for the 34-year-old Uruguayan filmmaker’s highly anticipated Evil Dead remake.

The horror film, being hailed as “the most terrifying film you will ever experience,” will now open nationwide on April 5, the same weekend that Universal StudiosJurassic Park 3D will be released.

Produced by the original film’s director and star – Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell respectively – Evil Dead will counter Steven Spielberg’s genetically engineered now-3D dinosaurs with R-rated gore and a twist on the classic Evil Dead premise that already has the genre crowd’s attention.

In addition, Álvarez’s film will compete against Danny Boyle’s Trance, starring Rosario Dawson. Although that film will be released in limited theaters.
